  • Disease Bleach: The ending credits of the last episode show that she originally brown hair.
  • Living MacGuffin: For the Blue World. According to Administrator Vega, she's important for their future.

Chitose Aoba

Voiced by: Maaya Uchida
A SDF recruit who, tired of the stagnant tactics of her commanders, stole a card device and set off on her own personal crusade.

Tropes:

Mikado Kurosaki

Voiced by: Yūichi Nakamura

Tropes:

  • Frontline General: While he's not fighting himself, what with him being a normal human, Mikado isn't afraid of being near the scene of the fights.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: While Alexander is publicly in charge, It's Mikado who seems to determine everything around that, arguably to the point of being The Man Behind the Man.
  • Improbable Age: Despite being 18 years old, he's the strategist for an army.
  • The Strategist: Acts as Alexander's. Unfortunately, the latter has a tendency of acting on his own and not listening to him.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He is willing to sacrifice the city of Kobe in order to lure Audium out in the open. However, he plans to evacuate the citizens beforehand.

Sera Kurashiki

Voiced by: Hisako Kanemoto

Tropes:

  • Child Soldiers: Mikado had no compunctions about recruiting her to his cause. But this may be more about keeping her close by(she bears a strong resemblance to what appears to be a lost little sister), than it is about controlling the Gigantic that's imprinted on her.
  • Fluffy Tamer: Her Z/X partner is a dinosaur.
  • Identical Stranger: Resembles Mikado's younger sister.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother is a reporter who went missing. Sera is currently looking for her.
  • Morality Pet: For Mikado, possibly due to the aforementioned Identical Stranger above.
  • Token Mini-Moe: The youngest among the main cast, being nine years old.

Aina Mikage

Voiced by: Yuriko Endo

Tropes:

  • Fantastic Racism: She hates Z/X because one killed her parents.
  • Not So Similar: With Ayase. Both lost their families to Z/X but unlike Ayase, she didn't choose to take revenge.

Misaki Yuzuriha

Tropes:

  • Chekhov's Gunman: She appears several times over the course of the story but it's not until episode 9 that she becomes relevant.
  • Idol Singer: Her main occupation, although she also appears to be an actress and Gravure model.

Tribe: Angel

Tropes:

Sieger the Black Blade

Voiced by: Kazuhiko Inoue

  • Blood Knight: He likes fighting.
  • Mars Needs Women: Despite being a huge winged panther, he certainly has a healthy appreciation for the Humanoid female form. Especially Ayase's.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: He looks like a large feline, but he also has wings and his tail appear to be reptilian in appearance.
  • Panthera Awesome: He resembles a panther.

Sword Sniper, Rigel

Tribe: Battle Dress

Tropes:

  • BFG: Uses one in combat.
  • Meaningful Name: Befitting someone called Sword Sniper, she uses a sword and a gun.
  • Stellar Name: Is named after Rigel, the brightest star in the Orion constellation.

Rindou

Tribe: Hourai

Tropes:

  • Everything's Better with Samurai: Appears to be one.
  • Planimal: Has two branches growing from his forehead like horns.
  • Undying Loyalty: Encountered Chitose crying over her Z/X that had been killed, heedless of the one that had killed it and was about to do the same to her. He was so moved that she cared so much about a perceived enemy that he saved her and chose to replace the slain were-racoon and stay by her side.

Alexander

Voiced by: Nobuyuki Hiyama
Tribe: Braver

Tropes:

  • The Ace: One of the Nine Worthies, the strongest Bravers.
  • Blood Knight: He likes to fight a lot.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Ruler's Earthquake Spear. He's the only character in the series to do so.
  • Super-Soldier: As a Braver, he is genetically engineered with the genes and memories of famous warriors and commanders. So when we say "Alexander", we mean "...The Great."

Orihalcum Tyranno

Tribe: Gigantic

Apex of Order Sagarmatha

Tribe Guardian
  • Defector from Decadence: Strongly disagreed with the purging of Ayase's home village, and was the one who saved her life at the price of exiling himself from the White World. This would have been fatal had he not met Misaki.

Twelve Apostles - Aquarius Gambiel

Tribe: Angel

Hate Fiend, Audium

  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Type.II's eyes are red and she isn't to be taken lightly.
  • Super Prototype: She's the original model Rigel is based on, and is able to hold her own against the latter, Fierté, and Rindou at the same time.
  • Stripperiffic: Her outfit leaves a lot of skin exposed.
