Medea Solon is one of the main characters of Your Throne. She is the eldest daughter of Duke Thesion Solon and childhood friends with the young Marquess Helio Niccolo. On the day of the Yearly Prayer, Medea made a wish to the Guardian Deity that allowed her to temporarily inhabit the body of Psyche Callista.

  • Abusive Parents: Medea's father is physically abusive and murdered her Nanny, whom she loved as a mother. Her biological mother is not much better; she is negligent, refuses to praise her for her achievements, and intensely pressures her to succeed.
  • The Ace: Medea is an expert in politics, economics, history, combat, and more, due to the intense pressure put on her to succeed. She easily won all the rounds in the crown princess contest.
  • Acquired Poison Immunity: As part of her training, Lady Medea learnt a lot about poisons and has acquired immunity to most.
  • Action Girl: Medea is an expert swordswoman. She trained the best knight of the Helio empire in the art of the sword.

  • The Chessmaster: Lady Medea always has a plan and manipulates people and events with intelligence and ruthlessness.

  • Curtains Match the Window: Purple hair and eyes.
  • Dark Action Girl: An expert - and ruthless - swordswoman.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: The Queen of Othilei wants to get into her pants almost from their first meeting.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: A cultured woman who wears elaborate purple gowns.
  • Iron Lady: Lady Medea is ruthless, cold, and tough in order to maintain her political power and outwit her political enemies.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Lady Medea (in Psyche's body) after being ambushed in the garden at Prince Eros's birthday banquet.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: The dark to the Pysche's light. Medea is stoic, cunning, and jaded, to contrast with the sweet Psyche.
  • Master Swordsman: Medea is noted In-Universe as very skilled with the sword, with no equal. One of the things that Helio immediately suspects that it wasn't Medea residing in Medea's body during the body swap incident was due to Psyche making a rookie mistake of wielding a two handed sword with one hand.
  • Meaningful Name: Her surname in English translation refers to a famous Greek statesman, referencing her political acumen. Her original name, Belliard/Bellial, may refer to one of the demons from Ars Goetia.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Medea is the name of a witch in Greek Mythology who killed her brother and her children.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: While in Psyche's body around Eros, she acts less intellectual and slow.
  • Psychotic Smirk: The chilling expression on Medea's face when her plans are going exactly right.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Medea, The Chessmaster, is associated with purple.

  • Shout-Out: In Euripides's Medea, the titular character swears revenge on her lover for leaving her to marry a princess. Sound familiar?
  • Socialite: Has been a social climber since a young age.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After her first "Freaky Friday" Flip, she becomes much more heroic and Nice to the Waiter, though she doesn't lose her talent for ruthlessness and manipulation.
  • Villain Protagonist: An ambitious and murderous noble who desires the throne for herself and will go to ruthless lengths to get it. Being opposed by far worse opponents of her makes her A Lighter Shade of Black, however.
  • Yellow/Purple Contrast: With Psyche.
  • Zero-Approval Gambit: Her scheme requires everyone to believe she plans to murder her father for his inheritance.
  • 0% Approval Rating: Thanks to rumors spread by Eros, Medea is hated by commoners for trying to kill Psyche to get the position of Crown Princess.

Psyche Callista is one of the main characters of Your Throne. She is the only daughter of Count Callista and the fiancée of Crown Prince Eros Orna Vasilios. On the day of the Yearly Prayer, Psyche made a wish de ella that inadvertently allowed her to inhabit the body of Medea Solon.

  • Abusive Parents: Psyche's parents confined her to a Gilded Cage style prison cell in their manor's basement.
  • Coordinated Clothes: Whenever Eros and Psyche appear together in official functions as the crown prince and his future wife, they wear matching clothing.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: Even though learning Eros's plans for her has left her no reason to love him, as she gets to know the real Eros more, she hates him more and more.
  • Gilded Cage: She lives surrounded by all the luxury that corresponds to the crown prince's fiancee and a noblewoman, but she is not allowed to leave her home without permission. In addition, she is spied on by subordinates of Eros and any displeasure she causes can send her back to the attic.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Psyche, who has divine powers, has golden hair and commonly wears white and gold.
  • Grew a Spine: Becomes determined not to let Eros take advantage of her anymore than he already has.

  • Healing Hands: The so-called Gift of Divinity allows the gifted to heal and harm with a touch. Eros is interested in her because she possesses this.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: Locked in the basement from birth by her parents to protect her from being exploited for her power by others, Psyche only wants to be free and never return to the basement. That's why she does not refuse to become Crown Princess - so she can continue to freely enjoy the world, even if it means betraying Medea.
  • Important Haircut: Psyche cuts her long hair to shoulder-length after deciding to stand up for herself.
  • The Ingenue: Thanks to growing up locked in her mansion, Psyche is at first quite naive, making her easy prey for Eros' manipulations. Fortunately being in Medea's body and discovering the true colors of her fiancé, she has matured quite a bit. However, she is still the most idealistic character in the series.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: The light to Medea's dark. Psyche is sweet, naive, and empathetic to contrast with the brooding Medea.
  • Light Is Good: Psyche has golden hair, wears white and pastel dresses, possesses divine powers, and is a sweet, kind and naive girl who treats servants like family and is almost always willing to forgive and understand.

     Eros Orna Vasilios

Eros Orna Vasilios

Eros Orna Vasilios is the main antagonist of Your Throne and the Crown Prince of the Vasilios Empire. He is currently engaged to Psyche Callista, from whom he wishes to steal the divine power bestowed by the guardian deity of Vasilios.

  • Antagonistic Offspring: He does not hesitate to conspire and kill his father for his purposes. The same goes for his mother if she gets in his way.
  • Bad Boss: Prince Eros will casually execute or send even the most loyal of his men to their deaths.
  • Big Bad: The main enemy of the series, the biggest threat to Medea and Psyche
  • Blue Is Heroic: Averted. Eros may be represented by the color blue but he is an established villain who seeks to become a god just because he is bored with his life as crown prince, no matter how many people he uses, damages or kills, directly or indirectly .
  • Faux Affably Evil: He hides the fact that he is a psychopath devoid of humanity by pretending to be a kind and competent prince to those around him.
  • The Chessmaster: Crown Prince Eros always has a plan, and will cleverly and ruthlessly manipulate people and events.
  • Coordinated Clothes: Whenever Eros and Psyche appear together in official function as the crown prince and his future wife, they wear matching clothing.
  • Dark Is Evil: He has black hair with blue highlights and wears dark clothes. He frames Duchess Solon for poisoning his father, spreads nasty rumors about Medea, and plans to kill his fiancé Psyche to obtain divine power from her.
  • Engagement Challenge: Eros originally sets up a crown princess tournament, where Medea and Psyche have to compete in three categories to win his hand from him in marriage. After Medea wins handily, he overturns the result to get engaged to Psyche.
  • Entitled to Have You: He feels this way towards Psyche even though his primary reason for marrying her is so he can kill her and steal her holy magic without looking suspicious. It turns out that this also applies to Medea. While his plans initially seemed to involve framing her for murder, it later becomes clear that he intends on marrying her once he's done stealing Psyche's magic.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: Averted. He knows how much the Empress loves him and he takes advantage of that. But still, at the end of the day, he sees her as a pawn at best and a threat at worst.
  • The Evil Prince: Crown Prince Eros, who only wants to marry Psyche for her power, emotionally manipulates her, and tries to have her imprisoned and killed.
  • Even Evil Can Be Loved: Even though empress knows what a monster she is and is upset about it, she still loves her son.Even though she knows it's not mutual
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: His love for Medea seems genuine to some extent, albeit in his own twisted way.
  • Godhood Seeker: Prince Eros plans to kill and absorb the powers over life and death that his fiancée Psyche Callista possesses; it would allow him to rule over his kingdom as a cruel god deciding who lives and who dies.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Eros has icy silver / blue eyes representing his cold, ruthless, and calculating personality.
  • Mask of Sanity: Prince Eros acts as ever the kindly Prince Charming, but in truth he is a ruthless sociopath who would gleefully kill anyone in his way of him.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname in English translation is a variation of "Basileus", a Greek term for a monarch.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: He once again starts openly flirting with Medea when she's been isolated and her father has started making attempts on her life. His initial plan to frame her for Psyche's murder was probably meant to end with him saying that her only way out of being convicted and executed was to marry him, but he abandons this idea after he wrongly becomes convinced that Medea actually loves him.
  • Psychotic Smirk: The expression on Eros' face when he is plotting something ...
  • Rescue Romance: Invoked and averted. Medea being kidnapped and imprisoned by her father was a part of her plans, and it helps to convince Eros that she actually loves him.
  • The Sociopath: Eros has all the identifying traits of a sociopath, including a lack of empathy and remorse, and a grandiose sense of self importance. He manipulates and lies perfectly and is unable to understand how people can have a conscience, as seen when he wonders briefly if Medea wants to hold a criminal trial for her father due to a guilty conscience, before quickly dismissing it as impossible.
  • Villainous Crush: Eros is attracted to the anti-hero/villain protagonist of the series, Medea. He wants to make her his crown princess after he kills his current fiance (Psyche) who he pretends to love.
