They're what convinced her that all Course 1 students were cruel and that there was no other way to stop the bullying other than violence.

Miyuki's classmate.
  • A Day in the Limelight: In The Honour Student's Supplementary Lesson.
  • His Own Worst Enemy: Morisaki's opinion of Class 2 students unintentionally cost the boys a chance to shine during the Nine Schools Competition. He and the other newcomers refused pointed blank to let Tatsuya be their engineers, though Shun was the most outspoken. As such, Tatsuya was reassigned to the girl's teams. The result? The girls dominate their matches and majorly contribute to First High's overall victory in the tournament. Meanwhile, the boys who turned him down, struggle to meet their targets and fall majorly short of their expectations.
    • In the anime, one of the girls even lampshade's this, saying they should thank the boys for turning Tatsuya away in the first place. Shun hears this and does not take it well.
    • To make matters worse for Shun, he strives to do his best to win the Monolith code, just to prove that he does not need Tatsuya around in order to win. Guess who takes his place and wins the tournament after he and the rest of his team are injured and left unable to compete?

Hirakawa Chiaki

Voiced by: Rui Tanabe (Japanese), Lindsay Sheppard (English)

Class: G (Volume 6~11), E (Volume 12~)
The younger sister of Hiwakawa Koharu. She seeks revenge against Tatsuya for the Mirage Bat incident, which also led to her sister's mental state deteriorating.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: She blames Tatsuya for the Mirage Bat incident and sees him as a self-centered man, believing that he knew what was about to happen, but didn't do anything to prevent the whole thing from happening. While the light novel narrations show that Tatsuya really didn't know what was about to happen, she's right about the fact he wouldn't do anything if he did knew despite having the power to prevent it. Plus, regardless of how benevolent Tatsuya's actions could be, his motives are firmly rooted in making his and Miyuki's life more comfortable.

Tookami Family

     Alisa Iba

Alisa Iba

An illegitimate daughter of Kazuka Juumonji, who was adopted by the Tookamis after her mother died. She is one of the protagonists of the Maidens of Cygnus series.

  • Happily Adopted: She loves the Tookami family, and would marry into it if she could. The main reason she fears death is that it would cut her off from them.
  • Kindly Vet: She aspires to work in her adoptive family's veterinary clinic after finishing magical education.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: She's blonde because her mother was Russian.
  • Resigned to the Call: She doesn't really care about magic, but her innate talent is of a kind that might kill her if she doesn't get it under control. So off she goes.

    Marika Tookami

Marika Tookami

The Tookami family's biological daughter, who followed Alisa to First High. She is one of the protagonists of the Maidens of Cygnus series.

  • Crippling Overspecialization: She can make really good shields, even while untrained...but only around herself. This is why the Tookami branch were discarded as "Extras": the goal of their refiners in the Tenth Institute was to make magicians who could shield anything.
  • Don't Split Us Up: She is so desperate to keep Alisa home that she attacks Katsuto before he can take her away.
  • Hot-Blooded: She has a lot of feelings, which has led her to pick hopeless battles more than once.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: The basic principles of the martial arts she's learned also apply to magic, so she is unexpectedly good at the latter once she tries.
  • Shipper with an Agenda: She thinks sadly that if her elder brother was still in Hokkaido, Alisa might stay there just to be with him.
