  • Power Trio: There's three of them, and they fight evil.

  • Cool Shades: Almost never seen without his black shades.

Machine Empire Black Magma

    In General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_magma.png
A cult of mechahumans based from the North Pole who seek to conquer the world.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: The Vader Clan from Denshi Sentai Denziman were otherworldly invaders and were organic beings, while the Black Magma are an Earth-based terrorist organization/cult comprised mainly of robots.
  • The Empire: The first Sentai villain group to have "Empire" in the name, though in practice they're more of a terrorist organization and they don't have much territory beyond Iron Claw Castle.
  • Enemy Civil War: Things hit the fan once Queen Hedrian manipulates Inazuma Ginga into killing off Hell Saturn, leading to a power struggle that ends when the Omnipotent God steps in and shuts it down.
  • Evil Will Fail: In the end, Queen Hedrian, Hell Saturn and Inazuma Ginga all end up offing each other and Amazon Killer reveals the Omnipotent God's location to Sun Vulcan as a final way of spiting it. The Black Magma executives did far more to screw over each other than to destroy Sun Vulcan.
  • Nebulous Evil Organization: An evil cult and rogue state based from the North Pole seeking to conquer the world.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Red and black seem to be their favored colors.
  • Religion of Evil: Based around worship of the malevolent and mysterious Black Sun God.
  • Robot Religion: They're primarily comprised of robots, which means they're naturally the main partakers in Black Magma's "Black Sun" religion.
  • Robot Republic: A rogue theocratic nation run by robots.
    Führer Hell Saturn

Führer Hell Saturn

Portrayed by: Hideaki Kusaka

Voiced by: Shozo Iizuka

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hell_saturn.jpg
The leader of Black Magma.
  • Back from the Dead: After being killed by Inazuma Ginga, he returns as a ghost to exact his revenge on those involved with his death.
  • Big Bad: He's the one who leads and directs Black Magma. He gets Demoted to Dragon towards the end, though.
  • Dark Is Evil: His color scheme is primarily black and yes, he is the Big Bad.
  • Demoted to Dragon: In the last few episodes, where he's revealed to be The Dragon to the Omnipotent God.
  • Evil Overlord: The ruler of an evil cult who commands a variety of technological and magical powers, and has his sights set on conquering the world.
  • Gratuitous Nazis: His leadership title is "Führer" despite him not having any apparent connection to Those Wacky Nazis,
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: FUHRER HELL SATURN. Sounds inviting, doesn't it?
  • Orcus on His Throne: Never actually does any physical work himself and leaves most of that to his minions. The one time he gets up to fight somebody is when Inazuma Ginga challenges him to a duel.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has two bright red eyes and is a very sinister villain.
  • Ridiculously Human Robots: "Human" might not be the best word for it, but he somehow manages to come back as a ghost even though he's a robot.
  • Robotic Reveal: Is revealed upon his death to be a mechahuman. Crosses into Ridiculously Human Robots when he comes back as a ghost.
  • Sinister Minister: The spiritual leader within Black Magma's Religion of Evil, who even resembles an evil version of The Pope to boot.
  • The One Guy: Hell Saturn is the only visible male executive of Black Magma, at least until Inazuma Ginga shows up.
  • The Unfought: He gets a fight against Inazuma Ginga, but is killed before the heroes have a chance to confront him. He does come back as a ghost, but disappears once the Omnipotent God is destroyed.
    Queen Hedrian

Queen Hedrian

Portrayed by: Machiko Soga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/10847903_788806017824021_2254450402341419402_n.jpg
The Queen of the Vader Clan who went into hiding following her clan's defeat. She's later found in slumber in the North Pole and revived by Hell Saturn to be Black Magma's Dragon.
  • Afro Asskicker: Has a metal afro as part of her cyborg transformation.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: Hell Saturn allows her to join Black Magma, with the alternative being Hell Saturn invoking cardiac arrest on her by shutting down her mechanical heart.
  • The Chessmaster: Masterfully manipulates Inazuma Ginga into dueling and killing Hell Saturn, allowing her to seize power.
  • Cyborg: Remodeled into a cyborg when she is drafted into Black Magma.
  • Demoted to Dragon: After serving as the Big Bad of the previous season, she gets brought back here as The Dragon to Hell Saturn.
  • Evil Sorcerer: Even though she's a cyborg now, Queen Hedrian frequently makes use of her magical powers for Black Magma's schemes.
  • Ex-Big Bad: Was the Big Bad of Denziman but now she's working under someone else. She's also a Deconstructed Character Archetype of the Demoted to Dragon variant of this; even with the precautions Black Magma took, there's no way a fallen Evil Overlord is going to let someone else boss her around for long, and it ultimately is a major factor in Black Magma's fall.
  • The Heavy: Queen Hedrian is quite proactive as a Dragon and executes a number of schemes all on her own. At times one could mistake her for the Big Bad, in fact.
  • Hijacked by Ganon: Hijacking Black Magma and pulling this is her end goal. She succeeds in #47 after offing Hell Saturn and positioning herself as Black Magma's new leader, at least until the Omnipotent God steps in.
  • Large Ham: Sleeping under ice didn't do anything to sap her showiness.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Hedrian is pretty lazy for a Dragon - in twelve episodes, the two times she does anything are out of selfish greed.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: When Black Magma finds her her body is frozen and she has to be thawed out.
  • The Starscream: She's not too happy about being Demoted to Dragon and secretly plots to usurp control of Black Magma from Hell Saturn. She eventually succeeds by manipulating Inazuma Ginga into offing Hell Saturn, allowing her to seize power.
  • Villainous Friendship: Shares a mutual respect with Amazon Killer.

    Amazon Killer

Amazon Killer

Portrayed by: Yukie Kagawa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amazon_killer_full_profil.jpg
A Vader Clan field commander who comes to Earth from space to serve under Queen Hedrian.
  • Avenging the Villain: Considering Queen Hedrian was killed at the hands of the Omnipotent God and Hell Saturn's ghost, her revealing the Omnipotent God's location to Sun Vulcan could be seen as this.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Commits suicide after losing her duel against Sun Vulcan, choosing to die on her own terms rather than under the Omnipotent God.
  • Bling of War: Wears a bright gold crown.
  • The Brute: An incredibly strong warrior who's the one usually sent in as muscle against the heroes.
  • Dark Action Girl: She's tough-as-nails and powerful enough to take on all of the Sun Vulcan at once.
  • Dragon Ascendant: Becomes the nominal leader of Black Magma after both Hell Saturn and Queen Hedrian are knocked off. She's still subservient to the Omnipotent God though.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: To Queen Hedrian, who even regards Amazon Killer as the best warrior the Vader Clan has to offer.
  • Lady of War: An elegant but extremely deadly female enforcer for Black Magma.
  • Remember the New Guy?: She's one of the Vader Clan's strongest commanders, but she was never mentioned by Queen Hedrian or anyone else during the events of Denziman, having apparently been elsewhere in space at that time.
  • Serial Escalation: It's implied by Queen Hedrian that she's much stronger than Banriki, The Brute from Denziman, and would have been able to stop him when he mounted his coup against the clan.
  • Sixth Ranger: Joins the Black Magma midway through.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: While she does have some character differences, she essentially fills the same role Zero-One did as commander of the Zero Girls.
  • Villainous Friendship: Very loyal to Queen Hedrian, and close enough to her to be her co-conspirator in her plan to take over Black Magma.
  • Villain's Dying Grace: Before dying, she gives Sun Vulcan the location of the Omnipotent God.
  • Undying Loyalty: She's completely loyal to Queen Hedrian, Hell Saturn not so much...

    Zero Girls

Zero Girls

Portrayed by: Takako Kitagawa (Zero One), Mariko Higashi (Zero Two), Yuki Udagawa (Zero Three), Toshiko Takashima (Zero Four, 1-4), Kyoko Hiro (Zero Four, 1-4)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zerogirls.jpg
A quartet of female spies who personally serve Hell Saturn.
  • Amazon Brigade: Black Magma's female assassin force.
  • Ambiguously Human: It's unclear whether they're real humans or robots built to look like humans, though it's implied to be the latter.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Red, black, green and purple, respectively.
  • The Dragon: Zero-One, the leader of the Zero Girls and second to Fuhrer Hell Saturn, though she cedes the position to Queen Hedrian once she shows up.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Despite being set up as a rival for Vul Eagle early on, Zero One dies in a cave-in rather than a proper fight.
  • Dwindling Party: 01 dies halfway through during a confrontation with Vul Eagle and the rest get killed in the finale while piloting a Humongous Mecha against Sun Vulcan Robo.
  • Elite Four: Black Magma's elite four-woman spy and assassin team. They briefly become an Elite Three when Zero-One dies, but go back to four the next episode when Amazon Killer joins.
  • Expy: Of Keller and Mirror from Denshi Sentai Denziman, being a group of female spies on the villain side. They in turn received an expy in the form of the Girls Army in Space Sheriff Shaider.
  • Psycho Rangers: They follow a similar theming to a Sentai team, but serve as Sun Vulcan's opposite on the villain side.
  • Weapon-Based Characterization: Each of them wields a different weapon. 01 uses throwing knives, 02 has playing cards, 03 fights with a sword and 04 uses a Killer Yo-Yo.
  • You Are Number 6: They are all numbered 01 through 04.

    Inazuma Ginga

Inazuma Ginga

Portrayed by: Jyunichi Haruta

Voiced by: Takeshi Watabe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/inazuma_ginga.jpg
Amazon Killer's former partner, an outlaw on the run from the Galactic Union Police.
  • Canon Welding: The group he's shown to be on the run from? The Galactic Union Police that Space Sheriff Gavan works for.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: After being turned into Lightning Monger, he's a much easier opponent than he was as Inazuma Ginga.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: To Demon King Banriki, both are the antagonist group's Sixth Ranger with his own agenda. But Banriki is a Blood Knight who eventually decides to take over the Vader Clan on a whim, Ginga is a Wild Card that gets manipulated into taking over Black Magma.
  • The Dragon: Hell Saturn briefly makes Inazuma Ginga his new second-in-command after becoming impressed by his power.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: Works with Black Magma, but he's more interested in getting his hands on Sun Vulcan Robo rather than actually helping them with their goals.
  • Red Baron: The "Galaxy Invincible Electric Man".
  • Sixth Ranger: A second one for Black Magma, joining towards the end.
  • Space Pirate: Stated be one, as well as on the run from the Space Police.
  • The Starscream: He doesn't do much to hide the fact that he's only on Earth for his own ends and would rather rule the planet himself, though Hell Saturn views him as much more of an asset on account of how strong he is. He eventually turns against Hell Saturn, albeit with Queen Hedrian's pushing.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Winds up being used by Queen Hedrian to kill off Hell Saturn, allowing her to seize power.
  • We Can Rule Together: Tries to talk Amazon Killer into joining him in his plan to capture Jaguar Vulcan and Sun Vulcan Robo and using them to take over Earth and the galaxy for themselves. Amazon Killer refuses, still loyal to Queen Hedrian.
  • Wild Card: Queen Hedrian and Amazon Killer consider him to be one, given how he and Amazon Killer betrayed each other in the past to claim each other's treasures. By the end he's managed to screw things up for everyone.

  • Faceless Goons: They have no visible faces beyond the symbol of Black Magma emblazoned on their heads.
  • Mecha-Mooks: As their name would suggest, they're fully mechanical underneath their jumpsuits.

  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Wear black suits with red markings.
