  • Upon the discovery of Iron Claw Castle by the forces of the Guardians of World Peace near the North Pole, Führer Hell Saturn declares to the United Nations that his organization, Machine Empire Black Magma, has begun a campaign to conquer the world. As a response, three GWP soldiers: Air Force pilot Ryuusuke Oowashi, Navy fighter Kin'ya Samejima and soldier Asao Hyou, organize under commander Daizaburou Arashiyama into becoming Sun Vulcan, the task force to stop Black Magma's ambition. The Sun Vulcan team defeats Grub Monger. (Ep. 1)

  • Using psychological tactics to play both sides against each other, Queen Hedrian and Amazon Killer manipulate Inazuma Ginga and Hell Saturn into a showdown, where the space outlaw appears to kill Black Magma's leader, only to reveal him to be a Bio-Machine as well. With his death, Queen Hedrian becomes Black Magma's new leader. The Sun Vulcan team defeats Fighter Monger. (Ep. 47)
  • The Omnipotent God, the true form of the "Black Sun God" of Black Magma, revives Hell Saturn into a ghostly being to continue to emit his will through the organization and torment Hedrian for his death. Inazuma Ginga captures Takayuki Hiba in order to use him as bait to gain Sun Vulcan Robo for his own conquests; however Commander Daizaburou Arashiyama tricks him into taking the mecha only to cast him out. In the midst of the capture, Inazuma Ginga reveals he wishes to have the mecha to conquer Earth as well as the galaxy The Sun Vulcan team defeats Mummy Monger. (Ep. 48)
  • The Omnipotent God uses his technology to start rusting Queen Hedrian's mechanical heart that originally revived her for disobeying his will. To try and prove herself, she once again uses Vader Clan magic to summon Misa Arashiyama to Iron Claw Castle in order to sacrifice her to satisfy it. But before she can complete the sacrifice, her heart finally gives out, killing the Vader/Black Magma queen. Seeing Inazuma Ginga's defiance of Black Magma as a problem, he is thrown into the Monger-making machine and transformed into Lightning Monger. The Sun Vulcan Team defeats Lightning Monger. (Ep. 49)
  • Sun Vulcan and Commander Arashiyama storm the Black Magma castle in order to rescue Misa. The Sun Vulcan Team defeats Amazon Killer, King Magmar, The Zero Girls and The Omnipotent God, and rescue Misa.

Post-series

  • 1989: Among the 10 Super Sentai preceeding the Turborangers, Sun Vulcan stands behind them as they confront the Hundred Boma Tribes. (Kousoku Sentai Turboranger ep. 1)
  • 2001: As one of the first 24 Super Sentai, Sun Vulcan provides their support in the Gaorangers fight against Lost Highness Duke Rakushaasa. (Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai)
  • 2006: As one of the first 30 Super Sentai, Vul Eagle's Red Warrior spirit is inherited by AkaRed. (Boukenger vs. Super Sentai)
  • 2011: Sun Vulcan, among the first 34 Super Sentai, oppose an invasion of Earth by the Space Empire Zangyack in what becomes known the Legend War, ending with all Super Sentai sacrificing their power to destroy the invasion fleet. Dispersed throughout the universe, the powers ultimately resurface as Ranger Keys whilst the former Super Sentai disband. (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger ep. 1, 199 Hero Great Battle)
  • 2012: A month following the defeat of the second Zangyack invasion, the powers of the 34 Super Sentai are returned to them by the Gokaigers. (Gokaiger ep. 51)
  • 2012: Sun Vulcan, among the first 34 Super Sentai, are apparently defeated by Tsukasa Kadoya (Kamen Rider Decade), Great Leader of Dai-Shocker which seeks to wipe out the Super Sentai, opposing Dai-Zangyack led by Emperor (formerly Captain) Marvelous (Gokai Red) who are hunting the Kamen Riders. Infact, all the presumed deceased Sentai and Riders had been transported to the dimensional rift, from which they emerge to defeat the new Shocker-Zangyack Alliance. (Super Hero Taisen)
  • 2017: Sun Vulcan, among the first 38 Super Sentai, provide their power for the Ninningers and Zyuohgers to defeat Gillmarda. (Zyuohger vs. Ninninger)
