    Steven Universe
Voiced by: Zach Callison
  • Blatant Lies: Steven lies about how his pink form is just a human thing that only he can do in "Enemy of my Enemy", when it's clearly not.
  • Book Ends: Steven's first line in Steven Universe was a Big "NO!". In Alternate Future, his final line is "Yeah."
  • Dont Feed The Troll: He does with Black Rutile after her defeat. And she hates it.
  • Greater-Scope Paragon: Of The Black/Monochrome Pearl Brigade, in the heroes' eyes at least. To Cinnabar and her supporters, they hate him just as much as Black Rutile and her supporters.
  • Guilt Complex: Steven begins to grow one of these over time due to multiple factors, mostly thanks in part to Black Rutile.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Black Rutile's manipulations of the current Homeworld society ensured that Steven would become a pariah for his actions.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: At one point, he breaks down to Black Rutile and admits he wished he had a normal childhood, with no magical alien people.
Steven: Yeah, I'm still sick of the Gems leaving me to solve everyone's problems because Pink Diamond happens to be the source of all of them! Sometimes, I'd rather live a life where Gems never existed and I'm just a normal human boy with a normal human life!
  • Kick the Dog: After nearly shattering White and accidentally making her go on a rampage, he punched Spinel for singing the Change songase she did in the Movie.
  • Positive Friend Influence: Many of the characters interviewed by Black Rutile have nothing but good things to say about how Steven has changed them. She starts to find it annoying after a while.
  • Transformation Horror: As Steven transforms into his monster form at the end of "Everything's Fine", the changes are a lot slower up until spikes begin bursting from his back. His teeth become sharper, his skin becomes pink & leathery, his hands became claws and his pupils turned pink. It doesn't take long for his loved ones to realize what is about to happen.
    Garnet
Voiced by: Estelle
    Amethyst
Voiced by: Michaela Dietz
  • Genre Savvy: She is very much aware of all of the tropes that are associated with spies be it their gadgets or their traps.
  • Only Onename: She lampshades this fact when meeting Banes Jones.
Amethyst: And the name is, uh, Thyst? Amethyst. Yeah, I really don't have a last name.
    Pearl
Voiced by: Deedee Magno-Hall
  • Spider-Sense: Parodied. She once proclaimed to Lapis that she has Steven sense.
  • Team Mom: Pearl was already very motherly towards Steven, but Part 3 onwards shows her trying to make an effort to care for her by going to a childcare book signing and relating to the author's experiences with his son.
    Peridot
Voiced by: Shelby Rabara
  • Adaptational Sexuality: While Peridot was originally Asexual and Aromantic, here she seems to care deeply about Lapis and Amethyst.
  • Five Stages of Grief: Peridot goes through all five of them in the Whole Episode Flashback "Pumpkin Patch" in response to the death of Pumpkin. Steven even mentions the process partway through.
    • Denial: Peridot refuses to accept that Pumpkin is slowly dying, no matter how many times Steven tells her that death is a perfectly natural part of life.
    • Anger: Peridot vents her frustrations at a farm on a pumpkin patch, which earns the anger of the farmer tending to the pumpkins.
    • Bargaining: After escaping the farmer, Peridot begs Steven to save Pumpkin in exchange for her helping him with something.
    • Depression: After Pumpkin finally dies, Peridot spends the next week locking herself in the bathroom to mourn.
    • Acceptance: Lapis comforts Peridot and offers to be a shoulder for her to cry on, which leads to the two fusing.
  • It's All My Fault: "Bluebird" strongly implies Peridot possesses a guilt complex over Steven being kidnapped because of the humans he listed for her prior to her Heel–Face Turn. This would later be confirmed in "In Dreams".
  • Self-Insert Fic: In addition to Stefan in "In Dreams", we also see Peridot turning herself into Pierre from the original Camp Pining Hearts series.
    Lapis Lazuli
Voiced by: Jennifer Paz
    Bismuth
Voiced by: Uzo Aduba
  • Ascended Extra: While she was never a minor character, to begin with, in this series she has now become one of the main characters and appears a lot more frequently.
    Greg Universe
Voiced by: Tom Scharpling
  • For Want Of A Nail: Instead of going inside when Steven told him to, he instead fuses with him to become Steg.
    Connie Maheswaran
Voiced by: Grace Rolek
  • Spanner in the Works: Connie plays a big role in foiling Black Rutile's plans twice. The first one is saving Steven from being killed by Black Rutile in "Enemy of my Enemy", and the second is her Rousing Speech from "Love Like You."
    Rose Quartz (Unmarked Spoilers
Voiced by: Susan Egan
  • My Greatest Failure: Rose wished she didn't have to scare the Diamonds by faking her death, but she admits it was for the sake of Earth.
  • Warts and All: This is how Rose Quartz, and by extension Pink Diamond, is ultimately remembered at the end. Though she wasn't as perfect as she was built up to be, Rose was still ultimately a good person who made her fair share of mistakes.
  • Walking Spoiler: Just like in canon, she is still a spoiler-heavy character.
    Pumpkin
Voiced by: Zach Callison
    Ice
Voiced by: Elizabeth Daily
  • Alien Arts Are Appreciated: One of the main reasons she likes Earth so much is because of the devices humans use to entertain themselves. These are none other than tv shows and video games.
  • An Ice Person: Ice is literally her name, and her main ability is to create and control the cold element that her name originates from.
  • Canon Immigrant: She is not present in the original work but is stated to appear in the revamp.
  • Defrosting the Ice Queen: While she is tense around people she is not familiar with, she will loosen up a bit once she has gotten to know them.
  • Emotional Maturity Is Physical Maturity: She not only looks like a child, but she acts like one too.
  • Furry Confusion: She became traumatized after finding a bag of inanimate ice.
  • Gamer Chick: She absolutely loves playing video games and enjoys doing so with her friends.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: She has bright cyan eyes that can often highlight her aloof and cold personality.
  • Immortal Immaturity: She not only looks like a little kid, but she acts like one too. And she was alive during the Gem War.
  • The Medic: Her primary function, as Ice Gems were primarily created to recover and heal damaged Gems from battle, Ice possesses the ability to heal cracked gemstones. But these abilities are inferior to the healing abilities of a Diamond.
    • She also becomes Little Homeworld's doctor after Steven decided to leave Little Homeworld.
  • Morality Chain: She is the sole reason why Heliodor joined the Crystal Gems in the first place and the very reason why she is still loyal to them.
  • Mystical White Hair: She has off-white blue hair and has many ice related powers.
  • Recurring Fanon Character: She is based on GemCrust's primary gemsona. invoked
  • Remember the New Guy?: Apparently, she has been on Earth for a very long time, and has interacted with Steven during the events of the main series. However, many of these events were off-screen.
  • Snowlems: She is able to summon sentient creatures made of ice and snow and can summon them at any time. Although their lifespan depends on how condensed their elemental matrixes are, combined with the weather conditions, and if they hang around Ice or not.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She is childish and bratty around those she is comfortable with, but she can be quite cold and distant towards others she has met for the first time, especially humans and other aliens.
  • Tragic Ice Character: Despite not appearing in the original series, she definitely has suffered from a lot of the events that had transpired. She was left behind on a planet filled with psychotic gems, is always questioning her own strength and wondering if she is good enough, and cryed in despair upon learning that her idol Jasper was corrupted into a monster and tormented by Lapis before that.
    Heliodor
Voiced by: Cait Fairbanks
  • Anti-Hero: Despite being a Crystal Gem, she really doesn't have the same ethics and morality. She is willing to cross a few lines just to get the job done.
  • Badass Adorable: She is a ruthless and sardonic veteran who is fiercely loyal to Yellow Diamond, who is almost always donning an unnerving smile... and then there comes the fact that she resembles a cute preteen girl wearing baggy pants.
  • Bizarre Alien Senses: As stated below, she is in tune with the electromagnetic spectrum which allows her to detect all forms of radiation. She has this ability because Heliodors were made to track down and retrieve gems and can sense their Hard Light bodies. She can even tell when a gem is reforming or fusing.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: She acts like this at times, much to the dismay of her teammates.
  • Canon Immigrant: Just like Ice, she too is not present in the original, but will appear alongside her in the revamp.
  • Carry a Big Stick: Her weapon of choice is a mace which she uses to pummel her foes with ease.
  • The Cynic: Despite her happy-go-lucky nature, she is quite cynical. She fails to see why anyone would risk anything in protecting a world that would eventually die out and serve as the root of the Gempire's strife. Fortunately, she's coming around to accepting Earth and its flaws and perks, gradually.
  • Emotional Maturity Is Physical Maturity: She resembles a teenage girl and acts like one too.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Downplayed. While Heliodor often is seen as a nuisance at times amongst the Crystal Gems, Ice made her promise not to bother them too much. Other than that, she sometimes acts like a chaotic little gremlin.
  • Hero with an F in Good: She is really bad at being a good guy, so much so that even the other reformed villains question the Beryl's morality.
  • Immortal Immaturity: She has been around since the first Era and still hasn't properly matured.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she is a bit cynical and obnoxious at times, she genuinely does care about those she considers her truest of friends.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: Played with. She is in tune with the electromagnetic spectrum and can use this magnetism to allow herself to fly. However, she isn't able to manipulate metallic objects the same way Peridot can.
  • Passive-Aggressive Kombat: She does this a lot. She simply enjoys taunting and messing with others in a calm yet threatening tone. She often does this with people she genuinely doesn't get along with.
  • Perpetual Smiler: The oddest thing about her is that she is almost always seen smiling, even when in a fight. This trait makes her quite unnerving to most characters, and it gets worse when she is upset.
  • Power Floats: She can fly by using electromagnetism. Heliodor describes the process as being like "gliding on radiation".
  • Recurring Fanon Character: She is based on one of Gemcrust's main gemsonas.
  • Remember the New Guy?: While not as drastic as her partner, she did come to Earth with Hessonite and choose to stay behind to collect any Cluster Gems and rescue her beloved Ice.
  • Sarcastic Devotee: Despite her cynical nature and rude demeanor, she has never once made any actual attempts of betraying or abandoning the Crystal Gems.
  • Shock Stick: Her mace has the ability to generate an electric current to not only incapacitate her foes but also to make her weapon pack an extra punch to it.
  • Sour Supporter: The only reason she became a Crystal Gem in the first place was that she could be with her companion Ice. Other than that, she really doesn't care about protecting the Earth or humanity.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: She has yellow eyes and she has many phenomenal powers related to magnetism and electricity.
  • Sword Beam: She can fire a beam of plasma from her mace. She can shoot many short rapid bursts, or charge it up and deliver a powerful shockwave.
  • Yandere: Very downplayed, but she is extremely infatuated with Ice. So much so that it is literally the only reason why she joined the Crystal Gems in the first place even though she completely despises them. This obsessiveness can be shown when she fuses with her, and will completely refuse to let her go.
    • Also, while she is annoyed with Ice having a crush on Amethyst, Lapis, and even Jasper she never tries to harm them since she knows they don't share that same love as she does.
