Week QT

    QT

QT Unit #6

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/qt_static_idle.png
"Oh hey cutie!"
Voiced by: Teto Kasane
A cute girl who, in the QT Mod, wants nothing more than to rap. It seems like she’s hiding something not so cute, however…

QT’s songs include "Carefree," "Careless," and the bonus song "Cessation," which she sings alongside KB.

    KB

KillerByte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kb_static.png
"Nothing personal, kid."
The parasite robot that resides inside QT, who reveals himself after Boyfriend beats her in two rap battles in a row.

KB’s songs include "Censory Overload," the Brutal Bonus Level "Termination," and "Cessation," which is sung alongside QT.

He represents the red text in the HorrorSecret files.

  • A.I.-cronym: KB stands for KillerByte. He is designed to kill.
  • Amnesia Missed a Spot: All of his memories when he was in his old body has been removed when transferring into his current one… except for his hatred for someone, implied to be Cinder.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Has been described as if Yama and Daniel's Artificial Limbs has an AI, due to being built with similar technology.
  • Beat the Curse Out of Him: He intends to do this to Cinder's victims, even if he has to kill them in order to kill her once and for all.
  • Berserk Button: After his Heel–Face Turn, hurting QT in any way.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: His 'spine' is actually a tail that has claws to grip and a needle to siphon blood from his victims.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Went from a violent killing machine who used QT's infinite battery for his own benefit to someone who cares for his host like a sibling, so much so where he would not connect himself to another host if he cannot use QT as one anymore as he'd rather die than hurt others for his own survival and benefit. This is reflected by the color of his eyes.
  • Human Resources: Zigzagged. He usually uses his hosts’ blood to fuel himself, but he can also use electricity, which is why he is reluctant to separate himself from QT. This is a holdover from Yama's own Artificial Limbs which KB was based on, which ironically, were designed to use as little blood as possible.
  • Identity Amnesia: It's suggested by one of the HorrorSecret files that Cinder removed all of KB's memories in his previous body… except for his hatred of her.
  • Killer Robot: You think that the sawblade on his back is for show? He uses blood as a fuel source if QT is unavailable!
  • Names To Run Away From Very Fast: No points in guessing what KillerByte can do, and why he was given that Red Baron.
  • One Last Job: The first HorrorSecret file has KB state that he doesn’t want to kill anymore… except for one person. That person is implied to be Cinder.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: KillerByte is a Red Baron given by the scientists in Brutality Labs. As of this writing, his real name is unknown.
  • Punny Name: His full name sounds like "kilobyte" but with "kilo" replaced with "killer."
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: He is designed to kill, and his eyes are red. His eyes turn blue after his Heel–Face Turn.
  • Single Specimen Species: Word of God confirmed that he is the only KB unit.
  • Walking Spoiler: His existence is only foreshadowed on a wanted poster, and he only reveals himself during the third song of the week, "Censory Overload."
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Like QT, he has a fear of fire. It’s also implied to be a Trauma Button upon escaping the burning Brutality Labs.

Brutality Labs

Brutality Labs is a secret laboratory located underground in a forest far from civilization, and the ones who created QT and KB. It is said that once you step into the forest where the labs reside, you would never come back out. This is because once you get hired, you cannot resign nor leave no matter what.

The labs used to specialize in weapons in the past, but after finding a mysterious substance found within the mines, they have slowly but surely branched out to specialize in… unethical experiments, with the substance being used everywhere.

The laboratory has enough resources to even survive a post-apocalyptic world. Food, bunkers, even artificial sunlight. At least, that’s what they claim, as a fire broke out that killed most of their staff members.

Even before the fire, most of their staff were Driven to Suicide thanks to the stress Brutality Labs gave them. They don't even gain money, as this isn't a job.

     In general
  • All There in the Manual: You don’t know that they even exist even if you unlocked all of the mod's secrets! You have to not only dive deep within the mod's files, but search for Word of God statements, most of which is inside of a Discord server, to know about its existence, what it is, who works there, and its connection to QT & KB.
  • Bioweapon Beast: Brutality Labs makes them too. One of them used to be KB’s go-to-host before he ditched them for being too chaotic.
  • Driven to Suicide: Because of the stressful nature of the job, and the fact that everyone will never see the (true) light of day ever again, hanging bodies are a common sight.
  • Names To Run Away From Very Fast: They did create KB and all, and there are a lot of deaths within the laboratory. Not to mention the many unethical experiments conducted by the scientists there…
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: Hazard24 does not want to confirm where Brutality Labs is located at all as she doesn’t know enough about geography. As such, we do not know where Brutality Labs is located other than it’s underneath a forest far from civilization.

Higher-ups

    Amelia

Amelia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ameliataunt.png
The current leader of Brutality Labs, who stepped into the position after the previous leader was murdered. Rumor has it that looking into her eyes will drive you to madness.

She appears in "Interlope," but she doesn’t sing it.

  • Control Freak: After becoming leader, she became more controlling than before.
  • Eyes Always Closed: This is her default state. Rumor has it that looking into her eyes will make you go mad.
  • The Lost Lenore: Non-romantic example. She is this to Ashley, who admires her. She even wears her clothes after the fire.
  • Older Than They Look: She looks like a young adult in "Interlope." She is actually in her 50s.
  • Posthumous Character: She is dead even before the fire that killed most of her staff occurred. Despite this, she is seen to be alive in To Dust, To Ashes, To Rebuild Once More, which takes place after said fire, for reasons currently unknown.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She wears a purple suit, and has a purple lab coat, fitting for the leader of Brutality Labs.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Her eyes are red with a white cross. They will allegedly drive you mad when you see them, and it is stated that she became more controlling upon becoming leader. Interestingly, her eyes were brown, as those red eyes were a result of Cinder's Demonic Possession.
  • Red Herring: For the longest time, many fans believed that she was the Big Bad who is behind the fire, tried to control Ashley, and erased KB's memories. It turns out that not only was she not the culprit of any of those, but she was the host of the true Big Bad: Cinder. According to a HorrorSecret file, even the characters thought she was the puppeteer.
  • Workaholic: She is a very hard worker even before becoming leader. It was how she got the position in the first place.

    Yama

Yama

"Don't stay in the dark too long. Otherwise, your insecurities will start to eat away at you."
"Huh? You want to know why? Truth be told, even I don't know."
Yama is the creator of KB, and Amelia’s second-in-command. Rumor has it that if you go into their layer of the laboratory, you will go insane. As a result, nobody comes down there, and they had went mad as a result. It doesn’t help that they only interact with humans when it is to experiment with or on them…

They represent the green text in the HorrorSecret files.

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Has purple skin. It’s suggested that it’s because of what they have done to slow down their aging.
  • Ambiguous Gender: As said by Word of God, Yama's gender is Yama. Because of this, they are referred using they/them pronouns.
  • Cyborg: They made many modifications on their body. One of the more obvious modifications are the Artificial Limbs on their back.
  • The Dragon: They are Amelia's second-in-command, with their own black lab coat to prove it.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: Thanks to many years of working ever since the start of Brutality while being isolated from everyone else, They have lost touch on what it means to be human. They thought that their co-workers were killing themselves for fun, and doesn't get why they do that!
  • Idiot Hair: They have a cluster of hair sticking out of their head. It represents that they are… off when it comes to human interaction.
  • Insufferable Genius: Hazard's voice claim for them is that they always think that they're better than everyone around them.
  • Mad Scientist: A scientist who is an Insufferable Genius, has went mad, the second-in-command to Amelia and the creator of KB, a Killer Robot. They also experiment on humans.
  • Meaningful Name: They are most likely named after the Hindu god of death.
  • Older Than They Look: They look like a 25~30 year old young man, but they are actually around 60. It's because they modified their body so much they have slowed their aging to a crawl. The only hint that they are old is their white hair.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: They have red eyes, and they are a Mad Scientist who has went mad. No, they don't have a white cross over their eyes. That’s how their eyes are after modifying them from green. note
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red oni to Gabriel's blue, as shown in this image.
  • Workaholic: The reason why they don't go outside and interact with humans there in their free time: for them, there is no free time, and it's all work.

Scientists

    Ashley

Ashley

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_1755.jpeg
"I… would rather not say what the medication is for."

A scientist in Brutality Labs that was recently hired. She admires Amelia a lot, even after her death. Perhaps a little too much…

Ashley sings the secret song "Interlope," and she represents the teal text in the HorrorSecret files. She is also set to be the protagonist of Inhuman OS.

  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: "Interlope" takes place in one. In usual Friday Night Funkin' fashion, the fight is depicted as a rap battle.
  • Break the Cutie: When she was hired, she seems to be happy to be there. However, as she keeps on working in this deadly environment, she slowly but surely became more reserved and depressed. This gets worse when not only did her beloved leader die, but also survived a fire that killed most of her co-workers. By the present day, she has gone the deep end, and Cinder’s Demonic Possession does not help.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Downplayed. So many deaths happened in the laboratory, she is used to people dying, but not the sight of human corpses, according to the short story To Dust, To Ashes, To Rebuild Once More.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Unlike Boyfriend, who is an overconfident Fearless Fool, Ashley is a depressed Shrinking Violet.
  • Demonic Possession: A victim of Cinder's, whose possession is slow. She seems to be aware of this in one of the HorrorSecret files, and she wants whatever is in her head to get out.
  • The Ghost: "Interlope" is seen from her perspective, and we don’t see what she looks like. We only know what she looks like through supplementary material.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Her hair is blonde, and she is an innocent girl. Too bad Brutality Labs had to break her…
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: She has blue eyes when she was hired, when she wasn’t depressed by the workplace. She loses these when Cinder possesses her after the fire.
  • Meaningful Name: Ashley. She survived the fire that killed most of her co-workers.
  • The Ophelia: Judging from her art, she is adorable. Judging from the story, she's more than a bit unhinged.
  • Shrinking Violet: Hazard describes her voice claim as someone who doesn't speak up, and likes to keep things to herself.
  • Sole Survivor: Downplayed. She, alongside QT and KB, are the only confirmed survivors of the Brutality Labs fire.
  • Tragic Keepsake: After the fire, Ashley wears Amelia’s purple lab coat, lavender skirt, and yellow tie. It is unknown if she wore it on her own volition, or if Cinder wore it for her.
  • Trauma Conga Line: The stress of 'working' in Brutality Labs has already changed her into a depressed Shrinking Violet, but then her beloved boss dies, Cinder slowly but surely possess her, and then a fire broke that killed most of her co-workers, which left her to be one of the few survivors. No wonder she went insane in the present day...
  • Unseen No More: She finally appears in person in Inhuman OS after only appearing in supplementary material, if the trailer is any indication.

    Dawn

Dawn

"My name is Dawn. I don't have much time. I know too much."
A scientist working for Brutality Labs who knew too much and had to be killed. She represents the pink text in the HorrorSecret files.
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: The ninth HorrorSecret file—her letter to Daniel—has "I love you" at the end. At that point, She Knows Too Much and she’s going to be killed soon.
  • Genki Girl: She causes trouble sometimes, but her cheerfulness and her optimism is the figurative ray of sunshine in the dark laboratory.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red oni to Daniel's blue. She is an optimistic Genki Girl, while Daniel is reserved. This is reflected by her red eyes.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: She has pink hair, and she doesn’t let the brutal workplace bring her optimism down.
  • She Knows Too Much: Gained information she wasn't supposed to know (like Cinder's existence), and was killed for it.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She gets killed before the fire, and not much information about her was given except that she is a Genki Girl who causes trouble sometimes. She sends a letter to Daniel that changed what everyone thought happened, and revealed the true Big Bad of the Brutality saga.
  • Stylish Protection Gear: She wears goggles over her eyes alongside her red bow.
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: A Genki Girl who was killed for knowing too much about Brutality Labs' darkest secrets.
  • Wham Line: Delivers a few within her letter added in 2.2 that flipped everything on its head. Especially the secret message hidden inside the letter.
CINDERISHERNAME

    Daniel

Daniel

The recipient of Dawn's letter, AKA HorrorSecret 9.
Hazard24: You've already met him.

    Gabriel

Gabriel

The creator of the QT units, including the unit seen in the QT Mod.

Others

    Cinder

Cinder

The Big Bad of this brutal tale. She is a spirit that has the power to possess other people, Ashley and Amelia included. As of this writing, her motivations are unknown.

She represents the lavender text in the HorrorSecret files.

  • Big Bad: It is implied that she is the reason why KB is the way he is today, and has hurt others (like Ashley) to the point where he wants her dead, even if he has to kill her host (which may be innocent) to end her.
  • Brown Note: She can allegedly bring people to insanity to anyone who looks at her or her host's eyes.
  • Control Freak: If Amelia’s behavior after leadership is any indication, she is a controlling person.
  • Demonic Possession: As a spirit, she can do this, one person at a time. Possessed people gain the power to make other people insane by seeing their eyes. Ashley's possession is slow, as shown in a HorrorSecret file. She cannot possess dead people, however.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: None of her actions affect Boyfriend and Girlfriend, nor do they know that she exists. She doesn't even appear in the QT Mod. At least, not in person.
  • Narcissist: Implied. Word of God states that she is in a relationship with herself.
  • Not Me This Time:
    • Meta example. With her actions hurting other people, fans started to speculate if she is behind the fire, until Hazard 24 had to clarify that she isn't behind that one. At least, not directly.
    • She is not the reason why Yama's eyes changed from green to red. They modified them to be like that.
  • Purple Is Powerful: her body is dark purple, she is represented by lavender text, and she is the Big Bad who possesses people to fulfill her own agenda, which as of this writing, is unknown.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She is the source of the red eyes that allegedly drives whoever sees them mad.
  • Un-person: If someone learns of her existence, they were killed for it. Just ask Dawn.

    Viktor

Viktor

The head of the recontainment department.
  • Cigarette of Anxiety: He smokes to relieve stress.
  • Character Tic: Seems to call everyone "Kid."
  • Face of a Thug: Is stated to have an intimidating appearance, but he is a caring person.
  • Gentle Giant: He is 6'1 and seems scary at first glance, but Word of God states that he is probably the most caring person you'll ever meet.
  • Smoking Is Cool: He smokes (although when he's stressed), he has a scar on his left eye, and he’s the head of recontainment.
  • Team Dad: Word of God states that he is "dad vibes, the character."
  • Token Minority: He is the only black-skinned person in the story so far.

    William

William

The head of security. He is also Viktor's best friend.
  • Commissar Cap: He wears one on his head, probably signifying his status as head of security.
  • Jerkass: he is described to be an "asshole" sometimes.

    The QT units

QT unit #1, QT unit #2/Project Rebirth, QT unit #3, QT unit #4, and QT unit #5

The five QT units before QT unit #6. They are helper robots, although the details are unknown.
  • Ambiguous Gender: QT unit #2 is referred using it/its pronouns. It is unknown if these pronouns refer to QT unit #2's gender identity or to Project Rebirth.
  • Cute Machines: All of them qualify, as they are helper robots. Unit #2 used to be one, until it fused into an experiment that has Gone Horribly Right...
  • Distaff Counterpart: QT unit #5 is identical to unit #4. The main difference is that #5 is masculine, while #4 is feminine.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Not any of them, but Project Rebirth. It was an experiment to use a substance on a corpse, presumably to revive it. While the corpse moved out and about, it is controlled by an unknown force that is heavily implied to not belong to the corpse. It also assimilated people—QT unit #2 included—into itself, resulting into a fleshy mess that had to be contained.
  • The One Guy: QT unit #5 is the only masculine unit.
  • Posthumous Character: A drawing from Count Nightshade implies that they all burned in the fire alongside their creator Gabriel.
  • Ridiculously Human Robots: Like their successor, all of the units are helper robots, and they are programmed to be human-like. From unit #3 onwards, they look more human and wear clothes.
  • You Are Number 6: The only differentiation on the units' names are their unit number.

Alternative Title(s): Inhuman OS
