She's a nun, and nuns are harmless...right?

"Huh? ...I didn't quite understand what you said but let me show you why it's really good to join!"

The week's first opponent: a "nun" who is in service of a church. Kind and humble (at fist glance), she always welcomes potential new members - religious or not - with open arms. However, when she demands Boyfriend and Girlfriend join her church and they refuse, she takes it rather personally...

She's actually a demon and the ruler/Lucifer of Hell (which makes her the universe's equivalent to Satan) who came into power though unknown means at a very young age, but left the throne due to not caring about it and instead wants other people to go to Heaven and tries convincing people by pretending to be a nun. For centuries, she was a young child who Never Grew Up due to an unfulfilled childhood which was to have a friend. She eventually did make a friend with Ruv, and they promised to meet each other again as adults. While she ended up forgetting meeting him, she was finally able to grow up from that meeting.

Normally, Sarvente has two songs in this mod, "Parish" and "Worship". If you beat Ruv on Hard or Alt, then she has one more song, "Gospel", which showcases her demon form.

  • Adaptation Expansion: In the original mod, she is simply trying to convert Boyfriend to Christianity and becomes increasingly infuriated as he refuses. Friday Night Funkin' WITH LYRICS gives her a better reason to be so relentless: Boyfriend is in a relationship with a demon, putting his immortal soul in peril, making her at worst a Well-Intentioned Extremist and at best a Hero Antagonist, as the Girlfriend is Ambiguously Evil in that series.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Ruvyzvat calls Sarvente "Sarv".
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: The stripes on her face are a reddish-pink and pink respectively, and seem to be natural.
  • Badass Boast:
Sarvente: May God forgive you... But I won't.
  • Battle Couple: Her and Ruv. While they don't rap together, Ruv only rap battles after seeing Sarvente exausted and Sarvente herself goes One-Winged Angel only after Ruv is beaten. One of the creators of the mod has also made duet songs for them to battle together with should the other creators choose to add them to the mod.
  • Berserk Button: Not wanting to convert to her church sets her off greatly. This foul temper is, ironically, the reason why she isn't successful at converting people towards God in the first place.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She has the appearance of a friendly nun, but it soon becomes clear she is anything but. That being said, she is genuine in her attempts to convert people to God, she is simply much too overzealous about it.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Like with Girlfriend, her skeleton (shown here) has no individual bones aside from the skull and also has horns on the skull. However, Sarvente's bone anatomy is bizarre in her own right; it's pink, has vines growing around it, there's a latter R on right arm, her right leg's more black and cracked than her left, and her microphone has a flower in it.
  • Boomerang Bigot: She hates all demons despite being one herself, except Girlfriend apparently. When she shows up, Sarvente doesn't have any sort of reaction to her.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: She has a poor tolerance to alcohol, and yet she drinks wine.
  • Compressed Hair: All of her hair is inside her veil. Ruv actually helps tuck her hair into it, and she does the same for Ruv's ushanka.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Sarvente may be the cutest nun you'd ever meet (if you don't get on her bad side, that is!), but being a demon, she is capable of being louder than Ruv, who is capable of shaking the entire church without having his mic turned on.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of the Fallen Angel. She is apparently the Lucifer, cast down from Heaven countless years ago. However, despite her bad temper, she is not a bad person, and while there is clearly no love lost between herself and God, she acknowledges Heaven as a better place to be than Hell and tries to ensure mortals don't end up in the realm of fire and brimstone, perhaps in hopes of someday making up for her own sins as well.
  • The Determinator: When met with a particularly stubborn visitor who doesn't want to convert to her church, she'll go as far as using scare tactics by "almost opening Hell's gate" and showing them a glimpse of Hell in her demon form.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: For simply trying to find a restroom in the church, Sarvente challenges Boyfriend to a sing-off to convince him and Girlfriend to join the church. When that fails, she tags Ruv in to take care of them and when he failed, she transforms into a demon and warps reality because she lost singing battles to Boyfriend.
  • Eating Optional: As she is a demon, she does not need to eat according to Word of God, but does so anyway to blend in.invoked
  • Fallen Angel: She was cast out of Heaven due to an unknown incident. While she harbors no love for the God of her universe, she still believes humanity deserves to go to Heaven and tries to get people to go there rather than to Hell.
  • Hot as Hell: Her demon form (aka Lucifer form) has her wearing a leotard which shows her thighs off and also has a heart-shaped Cleavage Window.
  • Horned Humanoid: She has a pair of horns that grow or shrink depending on her anger and can even be hidden under her hair (let alone the wimple). In the mod itself, it can be shown with her demon form.
  • Implied Love Interest: Her and Ruv are implied to be an item. This is elevated to canon as of the April Fools' update, which introduces their Alternate Universe children Selever and Rasazy.
  • Irony: Sarvente calls a jokenote  Ruv tells her on the telephone "unholy". She herself is a demon posing as a nun.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: She's one to Ruv, being his Only Friend and emotional support.
  • Make-Out Kids: Invoked by Selever, who claims her and Ruv are "off somewhere making out with each other" before his battle, though this isn't actually shown on-screen.
  • Messianic Archetype: Played With and Zigzagged. Sarvente is a Fallen Angel who abandoned the throne of Hell and instead wants people to repent and get into Heaven... And while it's partially out of believing people deserve to have eternal happiness in Heaven, she also just doesn't want to deal with them for eternity in Hell. She is also very bad at actually getting people to change their ways due to her bad temper.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: While Ruv is no pushover, she takes things even farther by transforming into a demon and collapsing reality around her.
  • Naughty Nun: Her habit contains a cleavage window, and she wears garters and thigh-high boots with it. Then she goes One-Winged Angel and the whole ensemble is shredded into a bunny suit.
  • Noodle Incident: It is unknown what horrible sin she committed that permanently left her unable to go to Heaven.
  • Not Good with Rejection: A non-romantic example. She goes from very friendly to frustrated to angry when the couple show no interest in joining her church.
  • Nun Too Holy: She is quite literally a demon dressed as a nun. She is attempting to do good; while she tries her best to turn people towards God, she has a very poor temper that often ruins her efforts.
  • One-Note Cook: Downplayed, as it's unknown how deep her cooking skills go. Sarvente's capable of making a cake to perfection without it ever tasting bad. Said cake is so overly-spicy that it can kill the average person while she and Ruv can eat it just fine.
  • One-Woman Wail: Her voice in the songs is a high-pitched synth-like voice that sounds quite like a one-woman wail and almost sounds like a flute or even the high notes of a pipe organ.
  • Oxymoronic Being: A demonic nun. Figure that one out.
  • Pink Means Feminine: She wears a primarily pink outfit and has pink stripes on her face. She's also the only female opponent of the mod.
  • Reality Warper: Can assume a human-like form, create portals to Hell, create illusions, heal from wounds and fatal diseases quickly, have bullets bounce off her, fly, and carry Ruv despite the fact that he weighs more than her.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She has lived on for centuries (and most of that time was in her very long childhood).
  • Satanic Archetype: Sarvente's demon form is alternately referred to as "Lucifer Sarvente" and is stated per Word of God to have ruled over Hell since a very young age, but she eventually left the throne as part of her Heel–Face Turn.
  • Soprano and Gravel: The Soprano singer to Ruv's Gravel in their duet songs.
  • Sore Loser: Her response to losing a rap battle is to sic Ruv on the Boyfriend, and when he fails she lets loose her demonic powers.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Sarvente is a rather cute nun, her leotard in demon form shows off her thighs and Cleavage Window, and she is 7 feet 5 inches tall.
  • Wicked Heart Symbol: Her demonic form has a big heart-shaped Cleavage Window in the middle of her chest.

    Ruvyzvat (Ruv)

RuvyzvatPron.  / Ruv Pron.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruv_stand.png
Don't get on the wrong end of this guy. Seriously, you really would not want that.

"I'd say break a leg but I might end up breaking yours literally, and I'm going to make this as painful as possible for you...
...and your little girlfriend.
"

The week's second opponent: a wanted Russian criminal and longtime friend of Sarvente who steps in when things get tricky. Born in a slum without any friends or family, he had a strong sense of justice as a child and wanted to bring it to the world. He soon found out that the wealthy committed bigger crimes but could get away with them because of power. And so he started murdering corrupt people to being justice, which made some people view him as a villain, but eventually he stopped caring about who he killed. He ended up being on the run, meeting a young Sarvente along the way, who he ends up becoming friends with. He promised that they'd meet again as adults, and Sarvente gave him one of her ribbons as part of the promise. Ruv initially wanted to bring the ribbon back to her once they met again, but he forgot about the meeting and eventually chose to replace the eyepatch he previously wore with the ribbon.

While his second first meeting with Sarvente started out rough - with a lot of constant fights and arguments - he eventually grew trust towards Sarvente because she never betrayed him and sees the good in him despite knowing of his criminal record. This had made him feel human, a feeling that he's never experienced before, and didn't want to lose that feeling due to the fact that he had to raise himself as a child. He then made a vow with her to protect her for the rest of eternity, and he was granted Immortality as her part of the vow.

Ruv only has one song, "Zavodila".

  • Affectionate Nickname: Sarvente calls Ruvyzvat "Ruv".
  • The Ageless: According to a Amino Q&A, Ruv's "vow" with Sarvente prevents him from aging.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: He is a human, yet has gray skin.
  • And Your Little Dog, Too!: When Boyfriend is unfazed by Ruv's threat of breaking his legs should he lose, he says he'll make Girlfriend suffer the same fate, finally getting a reaction out of Boyfriend.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Does not believe in God or Heaven despite the fact that he lives with and is the eternal guardian of a demon queen.
  • Baritone of Strength: He's a professional hitman whose voice is so loud and deep it quite literally destroys a church without being plugged into an amp.
  • Berserk Button: Doing anything to offend or humiliate Sarvente will put Ruv in a very foul mood. This extends to children; When some rebellious kids were playing in and vandalizing the church much to Sarvente's annoyance, Ruv slashed at their bike tires and threw stones at them.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Sarvente is vastly more powerful than he is, but he sticks with her anyways. According to Word of God, this is justified in that it's Ruv's part of a vow between the two, which involves him promising to protect Sarv for the rest of eternity. While Sarv is normally immortalnote , she would end up dying if either one breaks their part of the vow.invoked
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: While he has an incredibly powerful voice, he is often too "tired" to use this ability. Word of God is that he prefers Sarvente takes the lead and he backs her up, reflected in unofficial duet songs.invoked
  • Compressed Hair: His hair is tucked under his hat. Sarvente actually helps tuck his hair into it, and he does the same for Sarvente's veil.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: He threatens to break Boyfriend's legs over him beating Sarvente in a rap battle.
  • The Dreaded: They weren't messing around with him. Thorough the week, there's a poster on Boyfriend's side of the map with a picture of Ruv labeled "BEWARE"note , and when she shows up after "Worship", he's introduced as a cold, merciless Russian criminal who says very little and sees taking out Boyfriend and Girlfriend as part of his job. His extremely loud singing voice is also able to get Girlfriend shaking in fear, although this is just in this mod and the creators of Friday Night Funkin' have stated that even that won't scare her in canon.
  • Enfant Terrible: Thanks to injustice taking over him when he was originally killing people for justice, he had been a known criminal since childhood.
  • Eyepatch of Power: As if he wasn't already threatening enough, he wears a ribbon Sarvente gave to him as a child for an eyepatch.
  • Face of a Thug: He's a Perpetual Frowner whose every attempt to smile looks either threatening or frightening.
  • Flat-Earth Atheist: Despite Sarvente being their world's equivalent to Satan, he doesn't believe that Heaven exists.
  • Foreshadowing: If you look at Boyfriend's side of the screen in Sarvente's songs, you will notice a flyer illustrating Ruv with the word "BEWARE" written below the illustration.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: As a child, he would murder corrupt people in an attempt to bring justice, but ended up not caring about who he killed because of injustice taking over him.
  • Husky Russkie: Played With. He hails from Russia, and although he's got a fairly normal build rather than being big and muscle-boundnote , he's taller than Sarvente at 9 feet tall with his legs bent (Sarvente is 7'5") and his voice is so loud and deep that he can shake an entire church and knock its pillars over by singing with no need for a mic. Doing that would require somewhere in the ballpark of around 125-150 decibels. Ruv, should he choose to, can be loud enough to physically hurt you and quite literally break you by talking.
  • Implied Love Interest: He and Sarvente are implied to be an item. This is elevated to canon as of the April Fools' update, which introduces their Alternate Universe children Selever and Rasazy.
  • Make-Out Kids: Invoked by Selever, who claims him and Sarv are "off somewhere making out with each other" before his battle, though this isn't actually shown on-screen.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Word of God has confirmed that he seldom smiles at all - if ever - due to dead facial muscles. When he does attempt to smile, it ends up looking like a forced or murderous one.invoked
  • Soprano and Gravel: The Gravel singer to Sarv's soprano in their duet songs.
  • The Stoic: He emotes very little, and even when he is beaten, he simply tells Sarv that he's sorry.
  • Super-Scream: His voice is so loud (without a mic!) it shakes the church and knocks several of its pillars over.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Ruv once slashed a group of children's bike tires and threw rocks at them after they wouldn't pay attention to Sarvente and were playing in her church.

    Selever

Selever

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/selever_rero_8.png
He looked through your files. He knows your name.

"HAPPY APRIL FOOLS BITCHES!!."

A non-canon character added to Mid-Fight Masses in a (late) April Fools update. He is the son of Sarvente and Ruv from an Alternate Universe who is fourth wall aware and an enormous Jerkass. He is in his own week with one song, "Casanova".

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: The left side of his skin is pink, the right side is gray, and it's seemingly natural.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: He sees the player over it and addresses them directly.
  • Cessation of Existence: According to Word of God, if Ruv fails to keep his vow with Sarvente, he and Razasy will suffer from this.invoked
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Selever is unrepentantly foul-mouthed and adds rude gestures into the mix. Which is probably fitting for who is essentially the "Antichrist".
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite being a huge jerkass to everyone around him, he clearly loves his sister and is trying to create parallel worlds to reunite her with their parents.
  • Flipping the Bird: Selever does this in most of his animations.
  • Giant Space Flea Out Of Nowhere: He appears out of nowhere and fights the Boyfriend for no reason. Justified since his inclusion was meant as an April Fool's Joke, and he himself says he is not from the main "timeline".
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Since he's Sarv and Ruv's child, this is a given.
  • Jerkass: He's instantly rude to the couple and the player for no apparent reason and his sole justification for fighting Boyfriend - aside from the fact that he just wants to - is that he's angry at him for entering his alternate universe.
  • It Amused Me: He fights Boyfriend simply because he can.
  • Reality Warper: He claims he created the place you fight him in to please his sister.
  • Troll: Of the meta variety, which is best reflected in the charting of his sole song "Casanova", being a way over dense chart with notes that clearly don't match up with the vocals at all.
  • Viler New Villain: In comparison to Sarvente, who is a well-intentioned person who lost her temper, and Ruv, who is The Dreaded but sees his villainy as his job, Selever is a Jerkass for no apparent reason and goes out of his way to be unpleasant. According to Dokki herself, he has his mother's energy and his father's sadism.

    Rasazy

Rasazy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rasazyportraits.png
That's one of her two portraits in-game. Yeah, the only time you ever see her is in a cutscene.

"Using mom's powers to tamper with the universes... you truly are spoiled..."note

Selever's sister, who wishes to be reunited with her parents.
