Pororo
The main protagonist. A curious penguin who sometimes causes mischief with his friends. He is best friends with Crong.
- Barefoot Cartoon Animal: He does not wear shoes.
- Costume Evolution: He was naked in the first two seasons except for wearing a helmet and goggles. However, in season 3 onwards, he wears a blue suit while still retaining his helmet and goggles.
- Funny Animal: An anthropomorphic penguin.
- Hypocritical Humor: In "I Am Not A Bed Wetter", he calls out Crong for not using the bathroom before bed, but does not do the same, causing him to wet the bed himself.
- Never Bareheaded: He's never been shown without his helmet.
- Speaks Fluent Animal: Can understand Crong only being able to say names, but acts as though he is speaking English.
- Took a Level in Kindness: He was a much bigger jerk in the first season, constantly pranking his friends even when they didn't do anything to deserve it. But the second season turns him into a Nice Guy.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Crong, since they're often at each other's throats, but they usually make up in the end.
Crong
- Aesop Amnesia: Commonly forgets not to cause problems for his friends.
- Bratty Half-Pint: Is quite the troublemaker.
- Big Eater: Downplayed, as he does eat a lot, but does have the capability to get sick if he eats too much.
- Costume Evolution: He was naked in the first two seasons. However, in season 3 onwards, he wears a blue suit and a red bandana.
- Dumb Dinos: Averted. While he can only say names, he is otherwise functional among the cast.
- Funny Animal: An anthropomorphic dinosaur.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's rude, naughty, and greedy, but when it comes down to the point he's a kind guy.
- Pokémon Speak: Can only say "Crong, Crong!" Subverted as he is also able to say Pororo's name too. He can also make throaty sighing noises.
- Potty Emergency:
- "Crong Goes Number Two" revolves completely around this. He gets terribly constipated when eating too much meat, and he does not want people to know he has to poop. He does make it at the end.
- He also gets diarrhea in "Stomach Ache."
- Potty Failure: The episode "I Am Not A Bedwetter" has him wetting the bed.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Pororo, since they're often at each other's throats, but they usually make up in the end.
Loopy
- Beware the Nice Ones: When she gets mad, she can be a bit rude and moody.
- Breakout Character: In recent years, her popularity with older audiences through memes has lead her to get a whole brand of her own, Zangmang Loopy.
- Costume Evolution: Like all the other characters on the show, she was naked in two seasons. But now, in season 3 forevermore, she wears a dress and barette.
- Funny Animal: An anthropomorphic beaver.
- The McCoy: She's quite emotional and sensitive.
- Nice Girl: Sweet, gentle, and reasonable.
- Pink Means Feminine: Loopy has pink fur.
- Prone to Tears: She tends to cry fairly easily.
- Shrinking Violet: Extremely timid.
- Supreme Chef: She's an exceptional cook, and her friends often come over to her house for lunch.
- Tender Tears: Whenever Ocular Gushers come into play.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Petty, since they're often at each other's throats, but they usually make up in the end.
Eddy
Eddy the fennec fox is the smartest of his friends and a gadget genius. Sometimes a plot point is one of his inventions going wrong and causing trouble.
- Bungling Inventor: His inventions often malfunction or do things they aren't programmed to, much to his chagrin.
- Butt-Monkey: If his inventions backfire on him, he'll usually be the first victim.
- Costume Evolution: The first two seasons had him naked, but as of season 3 he wears overalls.
- Cunning Like a Fox: He is the smartest of the characters.
- Ditzy Genius: He may be a skilled inventor, but his ideas for them tend to make his inventions malfunction.
- Funny Animal: An anthropomorphic fox.
- Misplaced Wildlife: He's a desert animal who lives in the same snowy village as his friends.
- The Smart Guy: The brains of the gang.
- Super Drowning Skills: A terrible swimmer, as shown in "Learning How To Swim" and "Rody's Wish". He's so afraid of water, he invented a scuba-diving suit before he could dive in.
Poby
A very strong but kind polar bear. He is the largest and oldest of the gang.
- Balloon Belly: Poby got accidentally inflated twice by Tong-Tong when he wants to go down from flying.
- Beary Friendly: A polar bear, and a friendly fellow.
- Beary Funny: Quite comedic for a bear.
- Big Guy, Little Guy: The big guy to Harry's little.
- Costume Evolution: Seasons 1 and 2 had him not wearing any clothing. In later episodes of Season 2, he had blue overalls with the letter P on them. Season 3 then has him wearing a mostly white shirt with a blue paw.
- Dumb Muscle: He's not stupid, he's just a little slow on the uptake.
- The Ditz: At times, he is a slow thinker.
- Funny Animal: An anthropomorphic polar bear.
- Gentle Giant: The largest of the group, and possibly the nicest besides Loopy.
- Gasshole: He tends to get very gassy when overeating.
- "What's This Smell" has him get a farting problem.
- Also farts a few times in "Flying Poby".
- And once more in "Rody's True Friends".
- Kindhearted Simpleton: He may not be the smartest of the main cast, but he still has a big heart.
- Nice Guy: He's never been shown to be anything but placid and good-natured.
- Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The sensitive guy to Harry's Manly Man.
- Simpleton Voice: Has a deep voice to go along with his slow wit.
Petty
Pororo's crush. Petty is rather tomboyish but very sweet. She seems to admire Pororo and thinks of him a bit more than a friend.
- Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: Like the others as of season 3, she is fully clothed.
- Funny Animal: An anthropomorphic penguin.
- Genki Girl: She's highly energetic.
- Lethal Chef: Not a very good cook to the point that her cookies make everyone sick.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Loopy, since they're often at each other's throats, but they usually make up in the end.
Harry
Harry is a young pink hummingbird. He is small, but don't think he's a pushover. Harry is a massive Mood-Swinger and very emotional. He likes singing, but unfortunately, he is an awful singer.
- Big Guy, Little Guy: The little guy to Poby's big.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Can be rather hotheaded.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Harry is a terrible singer since his friends immediately cover his ears whenever he sings.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Short-tempered and bossy, but is usually a good guy to have around.
- The McCoy: The most immature and emotional of the cast, next to Loopy.
- Mood-Swinger: Will often go from being cheerful one minute to cranky the next.
- The Napoleon: He's somewhat demanding and rude, and he's the smallest character on the show.
- Real Men Wear Pink: In addition to his feathers actually being pink, he likes to sing.
Rody
Eddy invents him in Season 3. Rody is a bit clumsy but very loyal to everybody.
- No Biological Sex: Even though he is said to be male, he is a robot, so technically he isn't either.
- Robot Buddy: Was built by Eddy to be his friend.
- Tears of Joy: When he temporarily came to life in "Rody's Wish", he cries happy tears when he's overjoyed to find out Eddy didn't drown.
- Vocal Evolution: In season 3, his voice was more deep and robotic, but by season 4 his voice is less robotic and more girly sounding.
- Undying Loyalty: Is possibly the most loyal robot you'll ever come across.
Tong Tong
A magical dragon. Tong Tong has the power to grow and do magical things by saying "Guriguri Tongtong", (or in season 4, "Izzy Wizzy Let's Get Busy!"). A plot point in certain episodes is when his magic backfires on him.
- Benevolent Genie: Does magic to grant his friends' wishes, and is a polite dragon.
- Catchphrase: "Guri guri Tongtong!"note in season 3, and since season 4, "Izzy wizzy let's get busy!"
- Dragon Rider: Sometimes the friends are seen riding on top of him.
- Inept Mage: His magic spells tend to backfire on him.
- Our Dragons Are Different: He's a dragon, and one of the good guys.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Gives this to Tu Tu after he attacks him in "Nice To Meet you Tu Tu".
Popo And Pipi
Two aliens. They are brother and sister twins, but they are opposites of each other.
- Amusing Alien: Both are pretty funny.
- Half-Identical Twins: Popo and Pipi look almost exactly alike, but but Popo's blue while Pipi's purple.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Popo is shy, but Pipi is energetic and outgoing.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: They have opposing personalities and are twins.
Anchors Nouri and Noori
They are two duck announcers and sportscasters that appeared in the movie Pororo: The Racing Adventure.
- Deadpan Snarker: Noori is quite the snarky one in the Simka dub.
- Dub Name Change: In the Simka dub, their names were changed from Nouri and Noori to Chip Quackers and Walter Featherbottom.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Noori in the second English dub. He's snarky, cynical, and mocked Pororo's team at the beginning of the race, but deep down he does care about Team Pororo and depended on them to win the race against Fufu.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After the White Tigers were defeated by Fufu's team, Noori has had enough and packed up his suitcase, attempting to quit his career in fear of the bears winning the race.
- Those Two Guys: Just like most of the other characters in this film, there are never shown without each other.
