    In General 
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: Every character's hair or eye colour (or both; although it's usually the eyes) corresponds to their gem motif.
  • Nice Guy: Pretty much every playable character is this - being a Jerk with a Heart of Gold at worst.
  • Not So Above It All: During April Fools' Day, all of them prank the player by switching twiine accounts and posting as the original user. This includes the ones who are normally strict. The sole exception is Sae, who starts off the April Fools' prank by posting that he received a note from the culprit about the account switch, and that he would not be participating due to being a teacher.
  • Team Mom: At least one per unit, most likely to ensure that no one goes off the rails:
    • Kasumi for Hot-Blood
    • Rikka for Re:Fly
    • Midori for Eme☆Kare
    • Yuna for MAISY
    • Aoi for Prid's
    • Rei (and Tomoe to a lesser extent) for drop
    • Sae, being a teacher, is this to the students, especially Re:Fly and drop in their respective unit events.
  • True Companions: By the end of their respective unit stories, their bonds with each other have been strengthened hard enough to be considered as these.
    Honor Student/Hikari Amane 
School Year: 1st Year (High School)
The Player Character who has been admitted to Hosekigaoka High as the first female student in 20 years. On the first day, she ended up being assigned to organize the legendary Grand Euphoria by Sae Areki, but first she has to find participants...
  • Canon Name: Hikari Amane should the player choose not to give a new name.
  • The Determinator: She'll do anything to get her tasks done. During the main story, she is tasked by the units to do certain things before they can accept her proposal, and she gets them done, earning their utmost respect.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Her name is never said out loud by the characters - they all just simply call her Honor Student even when her default name is kept.
  • The Faceless: We don't get to see her full appearance, even though she does show up in certain cards. The closest we get to what her face looks like is in Inori's initial SSR card after awakening, where he has a plush doll resembling her.
  • Held Back in School: Subverted, she's actually a High-School 2nd year, but due to entering Hosekigaoka High as an honours student she was admitted as a first-year.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The sole female student in Hosekigaoka High.
    Sae Areki 
School Year: Teacher
Gem Motif: Alexandrite

A famous Voice Actor and alumni of Hosekigaoka High, he returned as a teacher. He's the one who tasks Hikari into organizing the Grand Euphoria.

Introduced on 10 September with the first event and formally implemented on 19 September with drop, despite being associated with them his awakening materials come from all 6 units.

  • All Your Powers Combined: To awaken his cards, materials used by all 6 units are required.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: He may be a teacher, but he's a tad reluctant to do work most of the time. Even his hobby is napping and has a hammock in his office. That being said, he's well known for his voice-acting.
  • Famed In-Story: Is known for being a well-established voice actor while also teaching in Hosekigaoka.
  • The Mentor: But of course, but this is more prevalent with drop.
  • Only Sane Man: For the whole cast, especially when drop and Re:Fly are involved.
  • Punny Name: Say his name in Japanese order fast enough and you get 'Alexandrite' - his gem motif.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Is the teacher-in-charge of the Home Economics Club.

  • Hot-Blooded: Pun on their unit name aside, all of them are described as passionate in one way or another.
  • Image Song: Flame, released during the 1st Anniversary event.

  • Becoming the Mask: He was initially from his family's rival voice acting school sent as a spy, but his interactions with Hot-Blood made him realize that friends are important to him, and so decides to transfer to Hosekigaoka for good.
  • Butt-Monkey: The Art Club representative of this trope whenever the Baseball Club's involved, usually when the ball smashes the Art room's window yet again.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite appearances he likes Heavy Metal, but is a bit embarrassed about it. At least Hikari is open about it, and the Off-Rec story on his 2019 birthday card has Hot-Blood gift him a ticket to a metal concert.
  • The Mole: In Hot-Blood's unit story, he was the spy from a rival voice acting school sent by his family to report on the activities of Hosekigaoka High. After realizing what his actions caused, especially towards Tsubaki who was accused of being the spy, he rebelled against his family and enrolled in Hosekigaoka permanently.
  • Only Sane Man: For his unit, with him being the only member with the most common sense and acts as their self-control.
  • Team Mom: For Hot-Blood. He's often described as a motherly type by other characters and ends up taking care of them like how a mother would.
  • Terrible Artist: He's in the Art club and enjoys painting, but his paintings can be a bit debatable...
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Hamburger with cheese

    Ren Kagaya

  • The Gadfly: Not in real life, but on the internet, he's famous for starting flame wars. Nearly everyone on his birthday worry about him getting into another one on his birthday.
  • Playing with Fire: His power in the 2020 April Fools Day event.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Strawberries, and anything with them in it. Most notably, during his birthday, a lot of the characters mention wanting to buy him strawberry milk as a present in their homepage quotes when the player logs in on his birthday.

  • Hidden Depths: Is a loud person and goes at his own pace, but is said to be academically intelligent.
  • No Indoor Voice: Much to Kasumi and Tsubaki's annoyance.
  • Significant Birthdate: His birthdate is on Cat Day, fitting his Animal Motif in regards to his behaviour.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Is it 'Outa' or 'Ota'? His cards usually spell it as Ota, but due to the elongated 'O', some people spell his name as 'Outa' instead.

Re:Fly

    In General 
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Even with their policy of not interfering with each other's work, they still look out for each other no matter what. Eventually, at the end of their unit story, they ditch the 'no interference' policy.
  • Beach Episode: The premise for their 1st unit event.
  • Book Dumb: When Hikari finds them, Mikado explains that Re:Fly is on the verge of disbanding... because everyone failed their exams except for Rikka. If their grades keep dropping, the school faculty has to issue a disbandment order. Fortunately, they manage to keep it together.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Well, they do have Mikado and Cosmo...
  • Image Song: BLUE NOTE, released during the 1st Anniversary event.
  • Meaningful Name: The unit name refers to taking off and flying high once more after falling.
    Mikado Aoyagi 
School Year: 3rd Year (High School)

  • At Least I Admit It: This man is incredibly proud of his pervert-based humour and explicitly makes underwear jokes. Despite this he knows when to stop the jokes and be serious.
  • Blow You Away: His ability in the 2020 April Fools Day event.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: He does put in effort... but only when it really matters.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Likes making dirty jokes and comments about underwear, but does have his caring moments too.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: During Go Club, according to Ota and Nanao in Side Story 7. He's still The Slacker everywhere else though.
  • Held Back in School: He was supposed to graduate last year, but during his 1st year, he witnessed a man attacking a woman and due to being cold and tired from his part-time job, he used excessive force against the man. Even though the Miyabino family intervened so that the incident wouldn't evolve into a scandal, it still resulted in him having to repeat his 1st year.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • The 2nd Unit event for Re:Fly shows that he can actually play the piano, but has gotten a bit rusty since his family was cut off from the Miyabino household.
    • If Ota and Nanao are to be believed, he's also quite the spartan during Go club.
  • I Have No Son!: For reasons unknown, the Aoyagi family were expelled from the Miyabino household. Doesn't stop Tsubaki from hanging out with him and enjoying his company, though.
  • The Leader: The Ace for Re:Fly.
  • Noodle Incident: During the Wish ★ Princes’ Christmas event, he reminisces the last time he, Tsubaki and their families went to a theme park where he got lost. We never got to hear the details except for Tsubaki reminding him that if he got lost again, they won't bother searching for him 'this time'.
    Rikka Yarai

  • Big Brother Instinct: To Sairi, especially since their parents are divorced and Sairi cries a lot.
  • Cool Big Bro: To Sairi. To a lesser extent, he's also a non-familial version to Sora and Shiro.
  • Only Sane Man: For Re:Fly. If he's not making jokes with bad puns, that is.
  • Pungeon Master: Likes using puns in his speech. Unfortunately, not everyone seems to reciprocate.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Is very scared of bugs, to the point where he often carries bug spray with him. Hikari gains his (and the whole unit's) respect in their segment of the main story when she catches a beetle and releases it out of the window while he's shaking in fear, holding his bug spray.

  • Meaningful Name: His first name is written with the kanji for space, but is pronounced with the Japanese name for sky, reflecting his passion for astronomy.

  • Only Friend: To Shiro, until they joined Re:Fly and made more friends.
  • Significant Birthdate: His birthday is on April 12th, the day Yuri Gagarin became the first man to journey into outer space.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Konpeito, which is a Japanese sweet that looks like stars.

    Aoi: You can look at maps in your phone?!

  • Lethal Chef: An Off-Rec story has him attempting to cook hamburg steak and potato salad in preparation for a cooking scene... with him using a tonkotsu cutlet as the hamburg steak and microwaving an egg.

What's written on it is voiced, though and he usually reserves his speech to close friends, his family and Hikari once she gains Eme☆Kare's trust.

  • Image Song: Rainbow Message, released during the 1st Anniversary event.

  • The Heart: Is this for MAISY.
  • The Leader: MAISY's Ace - after Mamoru's hospitalization, Yuna was elected as the new Ace but the latter felt that Arata was a better fit.
  • Keet: A very energetic boy.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Enjoys cooking and doing the housework, and is in the Home Economics Club with Tomoe with Sae as the club's supervisor.
    • He's also the one who sewed MAISY's unit costumes and the costumes used in the Le Bleuet play.
  • Significant Birthdate: Arata's name contains the Japanese word for 'new' and he's the character seen on promotional material representing On Air as a whole - his birthday is on New Years Day.
    Mamoru Kokuyo 
School Year: 2nd Year (High School)

  • The Patient Has Left the Building: Is currently in the hospital for both an illness and recovering from a car accident. Doesn't stop him from sneaking out on occasion, though.
  • Trash of the Titans: His dorm room is very messy, with Shin grumbling as he cleans after him. Towards the end of MAISY's unit story, Shin finds out that he doesn't mind this fact about Mamoru after all.
    Inori Kamiya

  • Chuunibyou: Not as bad as Rin, but he's often seen making spells in his dorm room.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Downplayed (thankfully). He starts muttering threats under his breath if other guys are with Hikari, even if it's not for romantic reasons.
  • Delinquent: Often skipped school back in his first year, but since then he's been making improvements.
  • Fortune Teller: He enjoys telling fortunes as a hobby.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Is head-over-heels for Hikari, and only Hikari. According to him, they were classmates in middle school and his crush for her began from there.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Pork cutlet bowls
    Shin Aizawa

Prid's

    In General 
  • The Ace: They're known as the top unit in the school, and everyone aspires to be like them or beat them. Despite this, they do have their own flaws.
  • Dragged into Drag: The Sparkling! Our School Festival event has Aoi, Momose and Hotaru represent the unit in the school's crossdressing contest after Chihiro loses in rock-paper-scissors played with the other unit aces, dressed as 'Colours', a ficitional idol group. Despite some mishaps courtesy of Hosekigaoka's previous 'top unit' who were defeated by them in their unit story, they eventually manage to win the contest.
  • Image Song: Glorious Flaw, released during the 1st Anniversary event.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: All of them have this towards each other in some capacity.
    Chihiro Kisaki 
School Year: 2nd Year (High School)
Gem Motif: Diamond
Voiced by: Takuya Sato
  • The Ace: Naturally, as the leader of the school's top unit. Everyone in the school looks up to him in one way and in some cases, want to eventually overtake him.
  • Big Brother Worship:
    • Revealed to have this towards Hotaru - in fact, the Kisaki twins wanted to become voice actors because it was Hotaru's dream and Chihiro ultimately wants to be able to perform alongside him.
    • Played for Laughs in Hotaru's event R card story in the Sparkling! Our School Festival event where Chihiro complains to Hotaru in a flashback that 'Big Brother is cold and doesn't want to talk to him'. He's also obsessed with taking photos of Hotaru wearing his class cafe outfit and his costume for the crossdressing competition 'for the sake of showing them to their parents' in the event itself.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: Is afraid of women to the point where he doesn't like going to places where majority of the customers are women, much to Momose's amusement. Curiously, Hikari seems to be the sole exception.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Both Kisaki twins love chawanmushi, but while Chihiro loves gingko-nut flavoured chawanmushi, Hotaru likes chicken-flavoured chawanmushi. They also share a dislike of shirataki (konjac) noodles. Additionally, both of them are very tenacious when learning, as seen in the Cultivate Your Heart☆Farm Life event.
  • Sweet Tooth: Loves sweets, and is one of two known people to be able to drink dorayaki latte - a drink infamous for being excessively sweet - the other being Aoi. It gets to the point where if he runs out of sugar, he starts hallucinating people around him as sweets.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), giant milk frappe and dorayaki latte, the latter being infamous for being excessively sweet.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Despite being The Ace of Hosekigaoka, he does have one weakness - deprive him of sugar and once he's low on it, he starts becoming needy.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Chihiro's afraid of women since young - he attributes this to being almost kidnapped by one when he was younger in Prid's unit story.
    Aoi Isshiki

  • The Comically Serious
  • Hopeless with Tech:
    • Isn't good with technology, to the point where there's always at least 1 error in his twiine posts. It's also revealed that he's still using a flip phone whereas everyone's already using smartphones. Fortunately, Yuna's been teaching him in the Computing Club.
    • If he's in an audition group with Midori, their pair skill is called "Destructive Inability to Use Electronics". As the Flowering! Blossoming Blue with Pride event shows:

  • Always Second Best: Has this towards Chihiro, made more apparent in the unit story. He constantly views himself as 'Chihiro's shadow', and it's because of his anxiety over it that he lost his voice. Fortunately, the two of them get better in time for their performance.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Towards Chihiro - a lot of his lines in the homescreen are about him.
  • Cannot Tell a Lie:
  • Camera Fiend: Downplayed - his hobby is photography and his profile states that if he won a million yen, he would spend it on camera lens, but he doesn't have the personality that comes with it.
  • First-Name Basis: Insists that other people refer to him by his first name to differentiate him from Chihiro.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Constantly puts himself down, especially when Chihiro's involved. Most people, especially Tsubaki, point out otherwise when this happens.
  • Older Than He Looks: You'd be forgiven for thinking that Hotaru's the younger twin and Chihiro the older from appearance and voice. In truth, Hotaru's the older twin by 1 minute.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Most of his official art portrays him frowning instead of smiling.
  • Shared Family Quirks:
    • Both Kisaki twins love chawanmushi, but while Chihiro loves gingko-nut flavoured chawanmushi, Hotaru likes chicken-flavoured chawanmushi. They also share a dislike of shirataki (konjac) noodles.

  • Shrinking Violet: Prefers to keep to himself instead of being with others.

  • When He Smiles: It is said that if he ever does smile, it's a genuine one and is super cute. Asthesepicturesshow, this is pretty much the case.

    In General 
  • The Baby of the Bunch: The youngest unit formed among the 6 playable units, as well as not having any members in their 3rd year in High School.
  • Image Song: GARDEN, released during the 1st Anniversary event.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Unlike the others who were scouted by their respective aces to be part of their units, drop were forced to come together by the school, or else face expulsion for a variety of issues. Eventually they too end up being True Companions.
    An Hashikura 
School Year: 2nd Year (High School)

  • Green Thumb: His power in the 2020 April Fools Day event.
  • Goal in Life: To play the part of a tree spirit.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During drop's unit story, An gets pushed to the limit and decides to burn everything to the ground. This does not go unnoticed by his classmates who were all worried because An normally will not hurt nature.
    • As a result of the incident which resulted in a forest fire, An was forced to be part of a unit lest he'll be expelled.
  • Verbal Tic: Tends to say things very slowly, which shows his carefree nature.
    Rei Shirayuki 
School Year: 2nd Year (High School)
Gem Motif: Pearl

  • Emotionless Boy:
    • According to Rei's profile, he's incapable of showing much emotion and has never cried before, and is because of this he ends up on Hosekigaoka's watchlist before being part of drop because his lack of emotion makes it hard for teachers to teach him. He ends up shedding tears for the first time in drop's unit story after successfully pulling of a performance.
    • This is part of the reason why Sairi looks up to Rei as Rei shows little to no emotion, while Rei admires Sairi for being able to pull off all sorts of emotions.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: He enjoys petting cats in his free time and is said to have a hidden side which is only revealed around cats.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Mint Chocolate-flavoured foods.
    Tomoe Miwa 
School Year: 1st Year (High School)
Gem Motif: Coral

  • Boisterous Bruiser: Is portrayed as this in the 2019 April Fools Day event.
  • Childhood Friends: With Sawa and Haruto as they grew up in the same orphanage.
  • Crossdresser: Likes to wear female clothes, to the point where he wears the female school uniform instead of the normal version. This is the reason why he was on the verge of expulsion before being placed in drop.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Very much so.
  • Gender-Blender Name: 'Tomoe' is normally a girl's name.
  • Hidden Depths: Likes girly things, wears female clothing, but has a tough personality and is capable of confidently beating Mikado in arm-wrestling.

  • Prone to Tears: Ends up crying a lot for different reasons - this is why he ends up being recruited to drop or risk expulsion from Hosekigaoka Middle School, as his teachers have cited this for making it hard for them to teach him.
