Star Stream System

The Star Stream System broadcasts footage over the entire galaxy with "streamers" connecting the Constellations, or their subscribers to the stories they're providing them through their streams.
"<The Star Stream> system—the <Star Stream> broadcasting was designed to relay its contents to the entire universe. The subscribers were constellations at the top of the distant galaxies, the actors were humans like me, and the storyteller that connected the two sides was the dokkaebi before me."- Kim Dokja, Chapter 13.

  • Crossover Cosmology: A lot of the constellations are mythical beings from all over different mythologies.
  • Historical Domain Crossover: Many Constellations are people from our own history who have ascended and become constellations in their own right through their own Stories.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: In the webtoon version, one of the constellations comments on hating that they knew the scene of Sangah Yu and Myeongoh Han was going to end on a cliffhanger and the chapter ends on a cliffhanger.
  • Shout-Out: If the Constellations aren't members of the various mythologies and folklores in our world, many of them turn out to be this. This can range from things like The Tin Man of Oz to the Outer Gods of H.P Lovecraft.

Constellations

     General
The Audience of the Star Stream, who view the various scenarios as entertainment and who band together in groups known as Nebulas and who have the ability to grant their power unto a chosen individual allowing them to become their "Incarnation".
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Constellations without enough Probability or enough power can simply choose symbolic forms that relate to their stories in life (Goblets of wine for The God of Wine and Ecstasy, 100 won coins for Maritime War God, etc)
  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: This is how the Constellations came to be, being ascended Incarnations that managed to get enough Stories in order for the Star Stream to recognize them and award them with their Modifiers, in turn allowing them to view the journeys of other Incarnations and Constellations through the Dokkaebi channels.
  • Audience Surrogate: The constellations act as the "audience" for the "streamers" and of course give commentary that is very relatable.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While many go to the streams to find entertainment and bloodshed, there will be times they will make their disdain known. Usually chastising the dokkaebi, or the players if something is taken too far for their liking.
  • Fantastic Diet Requirement: According to Persephone, the constellations thrive off the stories of the characters in the stream as a form of nourishment.
  • Fantastic Rank System: A constellation’s rank is decided based on their power levels, which in turn is determined by the strength and ranking of their Stories. Constellations are ranked as follows:
Historical figure grade / Historical-grade (lowest ranked; has previously been referred to as upper-grade and great-grade)
Narrative grade (also known as Fable grade)
Myth grade (highest ranked) Myth grade constellations rarely interfered with lower ranked scenarios because they were already on the candidate list for 'One Single Story
  • Genius Bonus: Many of the identities of the more prominent Constellations can be easily guessed if you're even remotely familiar with their stories and what these entail. Even those who don't have their true identities revealed can lend themselves to a lot of Wild Mass Guessing.
  • Gods Need Prayer Badly: The more popular a mythical figure is, the more powerful and richer they are as a Constellation. Some lower ranking ones specifically use their Incarnation as a way to prolong their legend.
  • I Know Your True Name: They use epithets (Modifiers as well synonymic constructions of these Modifiers based on their fables.) in the stream chat to hide their identities and only reveal their names when they mean to do business. Dokja of course knows almost all of them from the start and a history buff like Yoo Sangah can deduce who they are by their nicknames or granted abilties.
  • Immortal Immaturity: A few god-like Constellations act not very maturely for their status and age, Demon-like Judge of Fire is an excitable Yaoi Fangirl, Black Abyss Dragon has been titled Chuunibyou several times which turns out to be intentional and many others can be pleased or angered very easily.
  • Jerkass Gods: Almost of them are Earth's historical or mythological figures who treat the destruction of Earth as a TV show, and while some are more sympathetic to humans than others, Dokja notes that the only times they would interfere is when they gain a lot from it.
  • Meaningful Name: Their stream handles can be a hint towards their true identity, or what their general trait is.
  • Not So Above It All: Gods and cosmic beings they may be, the constellations aren't above dropping quippy remarks, mostly about the players suffering or laughing at a particular scenario. They're also not above egging the other constellations on and riling them up when something happens.
  • Pass the Popcorn: They are more than happy to indulge in the suffering of the players. Some even send comments of amusement to Dokja when things don't go his way.
  • The Reveal: For as smug and condescending as many of them might be towards the Star Stream's participants, even they are still a part of the Star Stream's Scenarios, only having ascended from their statuses as Incarnations a long time ago. Many of them are still in the 70s and the 80s in the scenarios, and even the Myth Grades are still in the 90s themselves.

I wanted to see you! Kim Dokja.
Click here  to Uriel in the Webtoon
Constellation Modifiers:
"Demon Hunter Uriel"
"Archangel of Conflagration"
Identity:
Archangel Uriel
Nebula:
Eden
Incarnations:
Jung Heewon

A Narrative Grade constellation who usually encourages good deeds done by the players, is Jung Heewon's sponsor, and is a staunch fan of Kim Dokja.
  • Archangel Uriel: Her true identity is one of the archangels from the Bible.
  • Ax-Crazy: As Yoo Joonghyuk noted, Uriel's personality is actually supposed to be much more extreme and harsh. In the 999th turn, she even became an Outer God who perpetually burns in angry flame, gaining the title "Living Flame". The current 3rd turn Uriel is, in comparison, actually an outlier with how much more cheerful she is.
  • Berserk Button: Is noted to be staring at Persephone with a cold glare and draws her sword when they threaten to devour Dokja.
  • Covert Pervert: In the constellation banquet, she tries to persuade Dokja to Eden's side. When Dokja refuses because siding with Eden means refraining from sexual activities and therefore forcing him to become an eunuch, she is flustered for a moment before concluding that he just needs to switch his "position", then.
  • Fangirl: For Kim Dokja in particular. During the Epilogues we get to see her room and it's just full of merchandise of him, from holographic figurines of every outfit he wore from different scenarios to the suspicious tentacle the Mass Production Maker passed off as an exclusive Kim Dokja collector's item. She even gives him the Fable "Loved by an Archangel" through her affections for him. She basically acts like a regular fangirl does for her favourite Pop Idol.
  • Genki Girl: She's one of the rare constellations with an incredibly cheerful and funny personality who openly gushes about Kim Dokja in particular and the Dokja/Joonghyuk ship in general. When Dokja meets her in person, she even cheerfully greets him with a glomp. It turns out that the current 3rd turn, later turns out to actually be the 1864th turn, is the only time Uriel is like this. Most of the time, she's a lot more aloof and ruthless in her operation. It's only in the 1864th turn with the appearance of Dokja and the way he's close to Joonghyuk that she's reminded of her own friendship with Gabriel, which in turn makes her much more approachable and light-hearted.
  • Sacred Flames: One of her stigmas allows them to be able to create white hot flames called "Hell Flames Ignition". It burns away any evil it targets and cannot be put out.
  • Shipper on Deck: Once she sees the camaraderie between Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk start to bloom, she immediately take it upon herself to squee about it and openly support the two whenever they're near each other.
  • Sir Swearsalot: Normally keeps it under wraps in indirect messages but when meeting her in person she can be incredibly foul-mouthed, mostly when she's angry. It's to the point that the anti-curse censor that her Nebula issued to preserve the dignity of the Angels goes off every other word for her, sometimes not catching them entirely and making it very clear she's dropping Cluster F-Bombs the entire time.
Uriel: Wait.... Am I the b[]tch?
  • True Companions: She's incredibly loyal to Kim Dokja's Company, and is one of the original four constellations that follow their journey to the end.
  • Yaoi Fangirl: Ships Kim Dokja with Yoo Jonghyuk, which Dokja is confused by whenever they sponsor him coins when he does something nice for Yoo Jonghyuk. It's to the point other constellations are somewhat convinced that what Uriel says is true and even ask Dokja about it. Later, it's revealed that the reason she's so invested in a romantic relationship between Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk is because their friendship reminds her of her own with Archangel Gabriel.

Constellation Modifiers:
"Great Sage, Heaven's Equal"
"Most Ancient Liberator"
Identity:
Sun Wu Kong
Nebula:
Emperor
Incarnations:
Jang Hayoung (temporarily)

A Myth Grade constellation who takes an interest in Dokja and initially tried to become his supporting constellation.
  • Berserk Button: Played for Laughs His tendency to pull and tear at his hair during messages leads to a lot of jokes about him balding or being bald.
  • Character Tics: Has a habit of pulling and tearing at his hair in constellation messages during certain moments in Scenarios.
  • Collective Identity: As it turns out there are actually four constellations who collectively share the modifier of The Prisoner of the Golden Headband, with Meihouwang (King of Stone Monkeys) being the first chronologically and the one who ruled over the Water Curtain Cave, Bimawen (Manager of Heaven's Stables) being the second and the one acknowledged by the Jade Emperor for his magical prowess, The Great Sage Equaling Heaven (the one we're most familiar with) being third and representing the Sun Wukong who fought against the heavens looking down on him, and Douzhanshengfo (Victorious Fighting Buddha) being the fourth chronologically and the one who gained enlightenment from The Journey of the West's events. The events of the Journey of the West Remake scenario eventually leads to Dokja being the fifth and newest of them all, with the modifier Prisoner of the Constrictive Headband to boot.
  • The Hyena: He's easily amused by the antics that go on during the stream, constantly laughing at Kim Dokja's misery, or character's fighting amongst themselves. He also is usually the constellation who tries to egg on the others to brawl it out.
  • Light Is Good: His human form is drawn with light colored robes.
  • Restraining Bolt: As usual with depictions of the Great Sage, his crown acts as a way to limit his strength and give him intense headaches if he's up to mischief. Yoo Sangah reincarnating into Tang Sanzang's body and releasing the crown is what allows Sun Wukong's bodies to fight at their full potential, with their modifier evolving into "The Most Ancient Liberator" as a result.
  • Self-Duplication: One of his traditional powers, often appearing to Dokja as one of his clones in order to limit his own probability costs.

Constellation Modifiers:
Abyssal Black Flame Dragon
Identity:
Nebula:
Black Cloud
Incarnations:
Kim Namwoon
Han Sooyoung

A Narrative Grade constellation who's known for choosing incarnations who are more evil-aligned, and follows Dokja's journey out of frustration at not being chosen and interest in the human. He originally sponsored Kim Namwoon in TWSA and is currently Han Sooyoung's sponsor.
  • Chuunibyou: Dokja describes him as this, even commenting that it's likely why Kim Namwoon was such a good match for them. When Han Yoosoung says she wants them to sponsor her, Dokja just stares at her blankly. Made slightly funnier when his true form is revealed to be that of a young teen.
  • Dark Is Evil: His handle and alignment towards more evil acts says enough.
  • Immortal Immaturity: Despite being an immortal being, Abyssal Black Flame Dragon acts like a young edgy teen and lashes out often. It's later revealed he acts this way in order to avoid the insanity that comes with an immortal life.
  • Otaku: Aside from the Chuunibyou description, he is also described as being an otaku.
  • True Companions: He along with Sun Wukong, Uriel, and Secretive Plotter are the constellations that follow Kim Dokja's Company's journey all the way to the end.

Constellation Modifiers:
"The Great Plotter"
"The One who fights against The Oldest Dream"
Identity:
1863rd Regression Yoo Joonghyuk
Nebula:
Incarnations:

A mysterious constellation/ Outer God who Dokja doesn't remember from the original TWSA who takes an interest in seeing Dokja's story unfold.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Secretive Plotter's true form has a scar over his eye, but that doesn't diminish his handsomeness.
  • Covered with Scars: When he reveals his true form, his face, hands and likely his entire body is covered in scars.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: One of the most powerful constellations out there, who can easily stomp even an Olympian level god like Poseidon under his heel. He even notes that this would have been the 26th time he's killed them.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Secretive Plotter went through many hardships as the first Yoo Joonghyuk of TWSA, and he's surprisingly one of the few characters to get a genuine happy ending. After finding the Oldest Dream, they basically go off into their own universe where they live together and Secretive Plotter watches over them.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He's extremely jealous of Yoo Joonghyuk of the current 3rd turn, later revealed to be the 1864th turn, because the latter still has all of his companions and Kim Dokja by his side, while Secretive Plotter himself had to lose so much and still couldn't reach the end.
  • In the Hood: His face for most of their appearances is covered by a veil that also acts as a hood to hide his face.
  • Me's a Crowd: He lives with chibi-like versions of himself, each being a past turn of Yoo Joonghyuk.
  • Mysterious Veil: He covers his face with a large galaxy like veil, and his motives are just as mysterious.
  • Not So Above It All: Secretive Plotter at one point happily gossips with Uriel about an event she returned to between Yoo Joonghyuk and Dokja and fills her in on what she missed. He also frequently expresses his amazement and disbelief at some of Dokja's more ridiculous antics.
  • Walking Spoiler: Any discussion of Secretive Plotter's true identity leads to this because he is the Yoo Joonghyuk of the original TWSA novel.
  • Wild Card: Given he wasn't part of the original novel, Dokja has no idea what his motives are, but he still takes an interest in watching Dokja's story. Half of the time he watches the stream, he only seems curious or beguiled at Dokja's decisions.

Queen of the Darkest Spring and Father of the Rich Night
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_9684cfa491.jpg
Persephone as Yoo Sangah
Click here  to see Queen of the Darkest Spring in the Webtoon
Constellation Modifiers:
Identity:
Persephone and Hades
Nebula:
Olympus/ Underworld
An powerful constellation who serves as Yoo Sangah's supporting constellation, and takes an interest in Dokja and what he can offer. She's the wife to the Father of the Right Night, and usually speaks in his place.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Both are fully supportive of Dokja, to the point they basically try to match Dokja up with male constellations, believing it was his preference.
Queen Of Darkest Spring: [ Hades and I will not interfere even if you possess the sexual preference of 'Man Who Knows His Ignorance' and 'Sage of Idea'...]
    Dokja: (inhaling sharply) Mother.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She's not a truly evil being, but she is powerful enough where she can usually get what she wants from others. She ends up being a bit kinder towards Dokja as time goes on and even tells him when he was the Demonic King of Salvation that he's like a son to her and Hades.
  • Deus ex Machina: The Queen of the Darkest Spring intervened during the second scenario so Yoo Sangah wouldn't fall from the collapsed bridge using this.
  • Face Framed in Shadow: In the webtoon, Father of the Rich Night has his face covered in shadows.
  • Formal Characters Use Keigo: Persephone has a rather formal and polite speech pattern even while talking to Kim Dokja, who's just an incarnation compared to a myth-grade constellation like her.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: The Queen of the Darkest Spring usually takes on Yoo Sangah's form when speaking to Dokja physically, likely due to the fact she is her sponsor.
  • The Ghost: Father of the Rich Night is usually referred to but never really shows himself, given his status it's clear why. The Queen of Darkest Spring usually talks to guests in his place as a result.
  • Happily Married: Seems to be implied that she is more than happy being married to Hades. It's also clear that no matter what, all Hades cares about is that his wife is forever by his side. When Poseidon tries to imply they aren't happy together, Then Queen of Darkest Spring is quick to stand by her husband, and also make jabs towards Poseidon's womanizing ways.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Her first interaction with Dokja has her trying to press his buttons by not only taking the form of the grandmother he failed to save, but also Sangah, who he nearly kissed due to Dionysus's influence. After a while, she does start to see Dokja as a son, and even tells him as such.
  • Mama Bear / Papa Wolf: Over time, she and her husband start to see Dokja as their own son, with her even proclaiming as such when she goes to see Dokja.
"You're our son. That is all that matters."
  • Oh, Crap!: Despite being an Olympian constellation, even she can barely stand up to the constellations who support Dokja, and gets slightly freaked out when she realizes how angered they are at her threatening him.
  • Shapeshifting: Of the many forms she takes when first meeting Dokja is: the old woman he failed to save on the subway, and Yoo Sangah. She does this because her true appearance would have turned Dokja into ashes had she done so.
  • Shapeshifter Guilt Trip / Shapeshifting Seducer: The first time she meets Dokja face to face, she wears two different faces to throw him off. The first being the grandmother Dokja failed to save in the first scenario, leaving him annoyed and asking her to switch to someone else. She then plays the more seductive route by taking on Yoo Sangah's form wearing a seductive qi pao and later on Punisher in a similar outfit. One time she even tries on Yoo Jonghyuk's form, saying a "neighbouring archangel told me that this is to your taste". Dokja lets her know he doesn't like seeing her take these forms, but she still does it to tease him.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: When she takes on Yoo Sangah's form, she has golden eyes.

     Scribe of Heaven

Constellation Modifiers:
"Second Heavenly Being"
"Chancellor of Heaven"
Identity:
Metatron
Nebula:
Eden

A powerful constellation of the Absolute Good system, and the leader of the Eden Nebula as well as one of the many constellations who offered to become Kim Dokja's sponsor during the 2nd sponsor selection.
  • Arch-Enemy: The Ruler of East Hell treats him as such, and vice-versa, both acting as the Absolute Evil and Absolute Good of their factions respectively. Though the events of The Great War of Saints and Demons shows the two still respect one another, and are in fact as close as two sides of the same coin might be.
  • Metatron: Acts as the leader of the Eden Nebula, and tends to act for the benefit of his fellow angelic Constellations.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Tends to be very casual and gentle in his demeanor with a face showing no signs of agitation, to the point of speaking calmly while Eden was being destroyed. As such, the one time he does make a serious face, Dokja comments on it specifically.
  • The Chessmaster: Has no compunctions against manipulating even his own nebula in order to further his plans, and his conversational style is noted to be one that listens to his own desires through the mouths of others. Dokja even calls him someone who would sacrifice anyone to further the cause of Absolue Good.

     Sovereign of Eight Heads

The Serpent and the Snake Cutter
Constellation Modifiers:
The Serpent

Izumi Hiroki

A monstrous constellation and the "serpent" Dokja is instructed to hunt down during the 6th Scenario. He sponsored a Incarnation who sold their soul and took his body. He controlled Japan's Absolute Throne.
  • Arch-Enemy: The Snake Cutter is implied to be this to him, and vice-versa.
  • Asskicking Leadsto Leadership: One of Japan's most dangerous Constellations, and fittingly the Sponsor and controller of Japan's Absolute Throne and its King.
  • Deal with the Devil: Essentially his deal with Izumi Hiroki, granting them immense power but in the process slowly taking away their Incarnation's ability to control themselves.

     Snake Cutter

Kizuki Hiroshi (Webnovel)
Shoji Michio (Webtoon/ Ebook) (potentially)

A mysterious constellation who watches the events of the 6th Scenario, and he who first cut down the Sovereign of Eight Heads in their myth. While he has a incarnation in the webnovel, he does not have one in the Ebook and Webtoon, but events transpire which made him interested in Shoji Michio. Owner of Totsuka-no-tsurugi and its other forms.
  • Arch-Enemy: The Sovereign of Eight Heads is implied to be this to him, and vice-versa.

     Goryeo's First Sword
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cheok_jungyeong.jpg
The strongest military leader in the Korean peninsula
Constellation Modifiers:
Goryeo's First Swordsman
Identity:
Cheok Jungyeong
Nebula:
Hongik
Incarnations:

A Historical Grade, later Narrative Grade constellation who wanted to become Kim Dokja's sponsor during the 2nd Sponsor Selection. According to Kim Dokja, he is "the greatest person on the Korean peninsula."
  • Master Swordsman: Immensely skilled in his "Three Sword Style", named due to his never having at targets more than three times. Three Sword Style is strong enough by itself for Great Sage, Heaven's Equal to be interested by it. As seen later on, his skills are sufficient enough to outright wound an Outer God, even claiming he could cut off all twelve of the Eater of Dreams' tentacles if he had four swords in total.

Demon Kings

     General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_1_e4cb0a0c3f.jpg
The Corrupted Constellations

Another group who also count as members of the Star Stream, who comprise of 72, later 73 Demon Kings who act similar to the Constellations in how they view the Scenarios as a whole. Ranked by their number, in order of when they became Demon Kings.

  • Shout-Out: Their entire existence serves as a big one for Ars Goetia.
  • Our Demons Are Different: Constellations who have been corrupted, The Demon Kings prefer to offer monstrous transformations to those they favor rather than Stigmas compared to their Constellation counterparts. Interestingly, Dokja and Archangel Michael can transform into Angels into Demons on command, with the fruit of forbidden knowledge being the method both used to gain the ability to shift forms.

Dokkaebis

     General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_1_8cbfb335ac_6.jpg
"Dokkaebi. The first time one appeared, someone said so: "(...) it was too strange to call it a fairy, too evil to call it an angel, and too tranquil to call it a demon."
The Streamers of the Star Stream, who not only oversee the Scenarios as part of the Dokkaebi Bureau and under the Dokkaebi King, but also actively try to ensure that the Constellations are able to enjoy their stories. Acting as the moderators and channel owners of the Star Stream, their name comes from the trickster-like creatures from Korean Mythology
  • Fantastic Rank System: Dokkaebis are ranked by their strength and power, generally decided by the viewership and donations received from their channel or by promotions from the Dokkaebi Bureau. Each rank grants certain privileges to Dokkaebis of that rank, from better clothes to looking larger, to the point that the Great Grade Dokkaebis look very human in apperance compared to their lower ranking brethren. There are four general ranks a dokkaebi can achieve, listed here in ascending order:
    Low-Grade
    Mid-Grade
    Advanced-Grade
Great-Grade (Dokkaebis of this rank are referred to as Great Dokkaebis)
There are also the Dokkaebi Enforcers, which are former Constellations punished for one reason or another. These transformed Constellations tend to dislike their Dokkaebi brethren, and work to enforce the rules of the Star stream and punish those who do not.
The highest rank a dokkaebi can achieve, however, is the title of the Dokkaebi King, held by a single individual.

  • Game Face: In the webtoon whenever a Dokkaebi is angered, their face gets extremely detailed with black-red eyes, in contrast of their typical childish goat appearances.
  • The Host: They are the ones running the apocalypse for the Constellations' entertainment and managing the livestream.
  • Killer Rabbit: In the comic version, they looks like a cute fluffy goblins. However, they are capable of incredibly cruelty, such as exploding multiple player's heads when they refused to be quiet or changing the difficulties of scenarios for a more exciting stream.
  • Slave to PR: They heavily depend on Constellations' support. While they are sadists, they need to keep the game fair and interesting or they'll lose income or get punished. This is something Kim Dokja uses to his advantage as if he can make certain Constellations enough interested or disappoited in him, a Dokkaebi running the Scenario has to follow whatever suggestions they send to the channel.

     Bihyeong
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_3_3c8ed0c503.jpg
"I can't reveal any information to you. Except that... Until the moment I breathe my last, I shall tell my story with you."

The proctor who watches over the people in the train car and sees who survives and who dies. He seems to enjoy changing the time limit to watch the humans struggle and enacts harsh punishments for those who don't listen to what he says. Kim Dokja makes a deal with him, and the relationship the two begin to create soon becomes one of Bihyeong's defining qualities. Later on, He alongside Kim Dokja become the parental figures to Biyoo
  • Berserk Button: When the Incarnations don't believe what he is saying and don't listen to his rules.
  • Butt-Monkey: Dokja and later on, most of Kim Dokja's Company bully him to get him to do certain things. He usually ends up just complaining about it.
  • Deal with the Devil: While he's not a literal devil, Dokja still makes a deal with Bihyeong that he gets to keep half the coin's Bihyeong makes from his streams and in return Dokja will help him become the King of Dokkaebi's. Funnily enough, it's Bihyeong who ends up being more annoyed at making the deal with Dokja than the other way around.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Slowly becomes more and more sympathetic to Kim Dokja's Company and their survival as the Scenarios continue on, and even becomes protective of them towards the more malicious Dokkaebis. Even at the risk of being destroyed as a Great Dokkaebi, Bihyeong still chooses Kim Dokja's Company as the story he will sponsor and later on, ends up sacrifing himself to help Dokja and the others survive.
  • Killer Game Master: His first scenario encourages people to kill each other due to a specifically phrased condition and everyone who doesn't make the time limit dies, which he adjusts whenever he feels like and he personally kills people he dislikes, all with extreme amusement.
  • No Name Given: He does not deign to give the players his name and is only referred to as the Dokkaebi. Later on, Dokja reveals he knows his name is Bihyeong.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When he gets really mad or full of blood-lust his eyes turn red.
  • Slasher Smile: When he ramps up the difficulty of the game for his players.
  • Starfish Language: He speaks in symbols until he changes it to a language the people in the car can understand, likely Korean given where they're located.
  • Your Head A-Splode: His punishment for the players which is an instant death.

     Biyoo
A young dokkaebi who Dokja looks after and treats like his own.
  • Reincarnation: She's the reincarnation of Shin Yoosung of the 41st turn after Kim Dokja saved her soul from the Underworld and placed it in a dokkeabi egg.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Biyoo looks like a fluff ball with a small horn and is absolutely adorable.
  • Past-Life Memories: Doesn't have them at first due to being a newborn dokkaebi but regains them by end of the story.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: According to Yoo Joonghyuk, her human form looks a lot like Kim Dokja.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Biyoo is the only dokkaebi who never purposefully hurt the Incarnations for entertainment, despite having the same urges as the others to please their viewers and make the stream interesting for them. Even when pressured to she actively resists the urge and even goes so far as to give helpful sub-scenarios to help the Incarnations and especially Kim Dokja out.

Outer Gods

     General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_c2a0720062.jpg
"It seemed to be a tongue or a tentacle but in the end, it didn't resemble anything. It was a fear that was beyond language and it was unable to be comprehended".
The Outer Gods, also known as the "gods of the other worlds", are eldritch-like beings whose forms can resemble anything, yet nothing. Some of the most feared beings in the Star Stream System, the outer gods are the forgotten and outcast beings from the abandoned previous regressions of TWAS.
  • And I Must Scream: The very action of becoming an Outer God entails this, as the survivors of Yoo Junghyeok's regressions are left to travel the Star Stream worldlines for many millennia, forcibly being changed and turned into the forms that they are now, and often leading to them losing much of their sanity, and ending up as mere pawns in the scenarios of the current regression as well.
  • Brown Note Being: Even just seeing or hearing outer gods can result in Incarnations collapsing on the spot, and the strongest Outer Gods can affect lesser Constellations as well.
  • Bizarre Alien Limbs: Depictions of them appearing always show them with tentacles.
  • Equivalent Exchange: Outer Gods are given the same amount of power during their rampages as the Probability costs that Constellations and Incarnations have expended, meaning they get stronger when certain things happen that might not be "narratively" plausible.
  • Fate Worse than Death: This is what happens to the people left behind by Yoo Junghyeok in his regressions, becoming nothing more than eldritch beings left to roam the worldlines waiting for the Final Scenario and for the regressions to end.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Any time Probability ends up being used too much, the Outer Gods are released and given the ability to wreak havoc in the Star Stream, so Constellations have to be very careful.
  • Ominous Visual Glitch: Many of their appearances in the Webtoon can invoke this, with one of their more memorable appearances being that of unblinking hyperrealistic eyes looking at the Constellations.
  • Shout-Out: Their very existence acts as one for H.P Lovecraft, with specific references to The Call of Cthulhu, The Horror From The Hills by Frank Belknap Long, and The Doom That Came to Sarnath from Lovecraft's Dream Cycle short stories.
  • The Dreaded: Among even the Constellations, the mere presence of Outer Gods is enough to make them scatter or panic, and seeing them begin to appear after significant Probablity costs is something many of them do not like to see.
  • Theory of Narrative Causality: Probability costs that happen when Constellations or Incarnations do something that are narratively "unlikely" or "unnatural" is a dangerous thing, and once too much Probability has been expended, the Outer Gods are released and given just as much power as the Probability has been spent.
  • Time Abyss: Even more so than the Constellations are, since many of them are the forgotten and abandoned beings from Yoo Junghyeok's regressions, meaning many of them are more than several hundred thousand years old.
  • Undead Abomination: Described by Dokja to not be living beings and thus not possesing what we can consider blood or "flesh."
  • Was Once a Man: The survivors of the regressions of Yoo Junghyeok, with their bodies and minds warped by millennia of traveling the Star Stream's worldlines waiting for the scenarios to end, altough the strongest of them still have their minds left intact at the least.
