nWo Japan
An impostor of Sting aligned to the original nWo. Originally meant to sow dissent between Team WCW at the 1996 Fall Brawl, he would later become the nWo's lackey and a bit of a comedic character.- Badass Longcoat: When Sting evolved into his "Crow" persona, the fake Sting followed suit and began wearing a long coat similar to Sting's.
- Batter Up!: Like Sting, he would wield a baseball bat during matches.
- Becoming the Mask: It's implied that upon arriving to Japan and making a Heel–Face Turn, he genuinely believed he was the real Sting. He certainly started acting like an Anti-Hero, and became a fan favorite among the Japanese fans.
- Costume Copycat: When Sting was in his "Surfer" persona, he wore the same colorful face paint the Stinger had. When Sting transitioned into a silent Anti-Hero who looked like a ghost, the Fake Sting imitated his eerie appearance as well.
- Dark Is Evil: Wore dark clothing like Sting during his feud with the nWo, but he was an impostor meant to mock Sting and coerce him into becoming evil.
- I Have Many Names: Thunder, Cobra, nWo Sting, Fake Sting, Evil Sting, Sting #2, Super J.
- In-Universe Nickname: Stink, which commentator Larry Zbyszko called him to differentiate the NWO Sting from the actual Sting.
- Legacy Character: Originally played by Jeff Farmer, but later incarnations of him were played by Chris Harris or other members of the nWo.
- Mook: Acted as the nWo's lackey, and was constantly beaten up and given the Scorpion Death Drop by the real Sting thanks to this.

Various referees that have been bribed or sided with the nWo and its numerous incarnations.- Bald of Evil: Johnson
- Easily-Distracted Referee: Done on purpose (most of the time) to suit the need of the New World Order. It's probably more accurate to say they're more of a Joker Jury.
- Sinister Shades: Patrick was always seen with a pair of shades, and he was the original nWo's personal referee who regularly cheated faces out of their wins.
- Glass Jaw Referee: Again, sometimes done on purpose.
- Throwing the Fight:
