Antagonists

    The Phoenix Mage
Tyler Forrester, CEO of Alpha Q. The wielder of the Phoenix Mage and the main antagonist at the beginning of the story.
  • Ambition Is Evil: He seeks to collect all the Miraculouses for himself.
  • Antagonist Title: Wields the eponymous Miraculous and has used his powers for nothing but evil until now.
  • Big Bad: Appears to be this.
  • Brainwashing for the Greater Good: Wants to use the Miraculous of the Four Gods to take control over humanity and save them from climate change at the cost of their ability to choose for themselves.
  • Brutal Bird of Prey: While the species of his Miraculous isn't stated, he demonstrates many traits similar to a bird of prey.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Initially appears to be very similar to Gabriel Agreste/Hawkmoth, given that both are corporate executives who secretly use a winged Miraculous to turn people into supervillains in order to gain more Miraculous. However, the similarities end there. Forrester has no relation to our main characters save for being Marvin's boss, and is far more ambitious, using the Miraculous for the benefit of his corporation as well as to acquire other Miraculouses.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: A multi-billionaire who happens to use his Miraculous for personal gain.
  • The Corrupter: Like Hawk Moth, his Miraculous allows him to turn people into monster, only worse since they basically become mindless brutes.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: His company was nearly ruined because he didn't turn to dishonest, exploitative practices to increase profits.
  • Dystopia Justifies the Means: How Morgan sees his goals. He wants to use the power of the Miraculous for the few to tear down their corrupt society and remake it in his vision.
  • Expy: Of Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin from Spider-Man, being a CEO screwed over by his shareholders who becomes a masked, flying supervillain.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Is shown to be disturbed by the Nightmare King's brutality, such as his hatred of Morgan and willingness to kill Moof.
  • Feathered Fiend: Uses an avian Miraculous to wreak havoc and achieve his evil goals.
  • Foil: To Morgan. Both Morgan and Forrester were screwed over by their higher-ups- be it the police or board members- and were cast down, only to gain the power of the Miraculous. Whereas Morgan uses her powers for good and shares it with her companions, Forrester abandons the ideals he once held to use the Miraculous for his own personal gain.
  • Gotta Catch Them All: Wants to collect the Miraculous of the Four Auspicious Beasts.
  • Hobbes Was Right: Thoroughly believes that Humans Are Morons and that the only way to save them from climate change and their mindlessness is to use the Miraculous to brainwash them.
  • Monster of the Week: His MO in his attempt to stop Team Arctic and seize their Miraculous, once again much like his inspiration.
  • Monster Protection Racket: His business model, using his Miraculous to summon monsters and scare customers into buying his security systems.
  • Motive Rant: Goes on a chapter long rant in chapter 25 explaining humanity's stupidity, climate change, the Superhero Paradox, and arranging their final showdown.
  • Noble Demon: When he briefly captures Morgan to parley with her, he does not remove her mask to be a good sport.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The CEO of a big company and the wielder of a powerful Miraculous.
  • Shout-Out: The design for his Phoenix Mage persona was based off of Riggan Thomson's hero costume from Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: Gives this message during his monologue, believing that humanity is too stupid and self-interested to improve itself without his guidance.
  • Start of Darkness: The flashback at the beginning of chapter 21 reveals he became a villain after his company was nearly liquidated for dissapointing stockholders, something that came about by not resorting to predatory business practices.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Unlike Morgan, who's secretly hero but publicly a pariah after being falsely accused of stalking, Tyler is revered as a skilled businessman while secretly using his Miraculous to wreak havoc.
    Galvanized Monsters
The Phoenix Mage's version of Akumatized villains. Many of the tropes with the original crossover here.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: All of them have dark indigo hides.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Whereas Hawkmoth's creations were bright, campy supervillains with non-lethal methods, the same cannot be said of these minions. All of them are violent brutes who pose a serious threat to our main characters.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Couldn't watch a sitcom or get a bag of chips? New monster.
  • Elite Mooks: As of chapter 12 they gain a significant upgrade.
  • Shout-Out: Their catchphrase "I AM THY DARKEST DESIRES, THY TRUEST SELF!" is an almost direct quote from the shadow's own motto from Persona 4.
  • The Unfettered: Born from the despair of civilians and greatly exaggerated.
    Alpha Q
Forrester's Security Company.
    Mr. Hawkins
Max's landlord.
  • Evil Debt Collector: Is portrayed very antagonistically towards Max and his family while constantly harassing them for said house payment.
  • Expy: For obvious reasons, is one of Mr. Goodman from SuperMarioLogan.
    Dr. Nicole Cho
Dr. Nicole Cho, the head counselor of the school.
  • Allegorical Character: For ableism, especially in the American education system. Dr. Cho is repeatedly shown to have zero tolerance for students' discomfort, is intensely impatient, unreasonably demanding, stifles creativity, and only resorts to silencing and punishment to keep students in line.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: The main antagonist during the segments at Waterloo High.
  • Bullying the Disabled: A hobby of hers. During a test, she denies a dyslexic student his right to extended time and drags away a deaf kid for using a hearing aid.
  • Control Freak: Believes she's entitled to have control over the students as counselor.
  • Country Matters: 99% of its invocations involve her, and for good reason.
  • Evil Is Petty: Her response to being stood up to by a teenager, humiliate her in front of everyone by proxy and frame her older brother.
  • Hate Sink: IMMEDIATELY promoted to this upon reading what she did to Moof. It's repeatedly shown that she doesn't deserve to be anywhere near minors, much less have as much authority as she does.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: Despite the Phoenix Mage and his creations being the official main villains, Dr. Cho stands out as being the most heinous thing in the entire story.
  • Kick the Dog: Many throughout the series, throwing out Morgan's lunch just to get her to come to the office, framing Max for humiliating his sister, bullying disabled students, etc.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Unlike the Phoenix Mage, who is a campy supervillain, Dr. Cho is a straight-up abuser in a position of power over students and is played disturbingly straight.
  • Lack of Empathy: Shows very little hesitation or pity during any of her actions.
  • Misplaced Kindergarten Teacher: A particularly dark take on this trope. Treats high-school age students like toddlers, if not dogs.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: Is a psychotic abuser yet still holds the title of doctor.
  • Narcissist: Shows many hallmarks of this, given her refusal to take responsibility, desire to be seen as an overlord over students, and lack of respect for others' boundaries.
  • Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: Her inhumane behavior throughout the work promotes her to this.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: She abuses the disabled, need we say more.
  • Psycho Psychologist: Cares more for asserting dominance than actually giving a damn about students mental health.
  • Red Armband of Leadership: Oddly enough, her badge of office as head of the counseling office, though obviously meant to invoke Putting on the Reich.
  • Sadist Teacher: Very clearly enjoys making students miserable.
  • Wicked Stepmother: Made Moof's life a living hell.
  • You Have Failed Me: Is met with this by Principal Roy shorty before his attempted Sexual Extortion and her execution of him.

    Brad Roy
Brad Roy; Principal and Head of Residential Life at Waterloo High.
  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: How the student body reacts to his assassination, regardless of knowing who he actually was.
  • Asshole Victim: Given what he tried to do, it was well deserved.
  • Bald of Evil: Is bald and evil.
  • Boom, Headshot!: How Dr. Cho deals with him.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Attempts to have his way with Dr. Cho. Needless to say, it does not end well for him.
  • Dean Bitterman: Quickly established to be a jerkass by letting Dr. Cho run free and repeatedly harassing Morgan.
  • Expy:
    • Of Principal Kobayakawa from Persona 5, as both are fat principals who serve as antagonists.
    • During his last scene, he also becomes one of VIP 4.
  • Fat Bastard: Described as morbidly obese and cares more for rules than student safety.
  • Hate Sink: A student nearly froze to death on a skiing trip under his watch simply for not having the right vaccination card.
  • Mole in Charge: Is secretly in cahoots with Forrester and helps with trying to uncover the heroes' identities.
  • Pædo Hunt: Says that a female student "found a way to stay warm even though she forgot her card".
  • Slave to PR: Well above the students' well-being.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Attempts to have his way with someone as viscous as Dr. Cho.
  • You Have Failed Me: After failing to apprehend Team Arctic, The Phoenix Mage threatens him with this.

    Gary Mylson
Gary Mylson, a local bully at Waterloo High.
  • Asshole Victim: Given his frequent bullying of our main characters, he got what he deserved. Especially the second time.
  • The Bully: A textbook example, casually stealing from other students and harassing them on behalf of Dr. Cho.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Learns the hard way that Morgan is not to be fucked with.
  • The Dragon: To Dr. Cho, who uses him as a proxy to harass students.
  • Expy: Of Bully Bill from SuperMarioLogan, as both are shallow thugs who learn the hard way not to fuck with the main character.
  • Fighting Back Is Wrong: Defied by Morgan. She gives him one final chance to apologize for humiliating their group, and when he shows he didn't regret it, she fucking makes him regret it.
  • Gonk: Is easily one of the ugliest humans in the series given his porcine, wart-covered face.
  • Hate Sink: Is devoid of any likeable traits and constantly harasses other students for kicks.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: A well-deserved victim of this from Morgan. Twice.
  • Put on a Bus to Hell: Gary Mylson was sent to the E.R. in critical condition for failing to apologize for what he did.

    Abu Sufyan Dadaffi
The Democratically elected president of Bagdadistan
  • Anti-Villain: Despite being cast as a warlord by ZAG, he was rightly elected and chose socialism.
  • Regime Change: The Z Squadron is sent in to enforce a return to Capitalism.

    The Nightmare King
Another Miraculous User who shows up at the end of chapter 15. His identity is unknown, for now...

    Julian
The classmate who falsely accused Morgan of stalking before the story, ruining her life.
  • Arc Words: "I'll call the fucking police!" the words that stuck with Morgan the most, capturing how he not only manipulated them into enacting the opposite of justice, but showing how corrupt and inept the system was.
  • Evil Is Petty: And HOW?! Simply for getting in the way of his attempted kidnapping, he falsifies a story about Morgan not only stalking him but sending a threatening letter and possessing a weapon.
  • Expy: During his chapter he may as well have shouted "Damn brat, I'll sue!"
  • Gratuitous Italian: Shouts "Nessuna pieta, figa maledetto" at Morgan during their brawl, not a very kind word to call someone in there...
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: Wears Glasses and has no empathy beneath.
  • Hate Sink: By far the biggest example so far, as his deed is what ruined Morgan's life in the first place.
  • Jerk Jock: Was on the school's baseball team and is a violent crook.
  • Knight of Cerebus: All pretenses of goofy hijinks vanish at his mere mention.
  • Rambunctious Italian: If by rambunctious you mean an irredeemable sociopath, then yes.
  • The Scottish Trope: Justified. The police made it clear to Morgan she'd be torn to shreds if she even said his name in public.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: His father was on the school council and probably worked to falsify the story of Julian being stalked.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Has only appeared for one chapter in a flashback yet started the entire conflict.
  • Teens Are Monsters: Not much older than Morgan but is well-versed in using chloroform and switchblades.
