The Fantasia (Children):
Garland (Rose McIver)
- Retroactive Recognition: Many would remember Rose McIver from Peter Jackson's adaptation of the novel The Lovely Bones. Fans of Power Rangers may recognize her as Summer Landsdown, Ranger Operator Series Yellow from Power Rangers RPM. She also appears briefly in the series finale of Legend of the Seeker as Kahlan's maid.
Lilith (Olivia Tennet)
- The Cast Showoff: Olivia Tennet makes use of her singing and dancing talents to comedic effect. Considering how annoying Lilith can be when she sings, this could be an example of Stylistic Suck.
- The Load: Unlike the other Fantasia children, Lilith has little, if any, survival abilities, and becomes the Damsel Scrappy.
- Retroactive Recognition: Shortland Street fans may recognize her as Tuesday Warner. Fans of Power Rangers may recognize her as Dr. K, the Mentor figure to the Series Operators on Power Rangers RPM.
- The Scrappy: Eden and the Tunnelers don't seem to think so.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Attempted in Gramth. It doesn't work.
Jewel
- Living MacGuffin: It is revealed that she is the "talisman" — the source of Eden's magical abilities.
The Fantasia (Adults):
Bannister
- Genius Bruiser: He is the only member of the Fantasia bar Garland who can read.
- Put on a Bus: He decides to stay with Gabrielle Maddigan and her library...
- Back for the Finale: Only to return in the last episode.
- Super-Strength: Well, he is the Fantasia's strong-man.
Ferdy
- Deceased Parents Are the Best: Garland idolizes Ferdy, much to Maddie's detriment.
Silver Girl (Fleur Saville)
- Retroactive Recognition: Shortland Street fans may recognize her as Libby Jeffries.
