Sho Reilen
"So if you're expecting some kind of sob story from me about my past, sorry to disappoint you."The main character, but not necessarily the hero. She is a 16-year-old sadistic little girl with a terrible psychic power which she doesn't hesitate to terrorize people with.
- Abusive Parents: Subverted; Erik wonders if that's the reason why she is so screwed up.
- Big Damn Heroes: She first appears rescuing Heath from an assassination attempt. Then she kills him, For the Lulz.
- Black Comedy: Depends on how you look at it, some of her jokes can be played off as this.
- Blatant Lies: Seems to be a compulsive liar who does this often.
- For the Evulz: Until her motivations are explained, she seems to be doing everything for this.
- Gender-Blender Name: "Sho" is actually a rather masculine name.
- Mad Artist: Her opening scene after the OP shows her painting something pretty messed up.
- Proper Tights with a Skirt: They exhibit more of childishness than "proper"-ness, though.
- Yandere: Romantic or not, she certainly has some kind of strange obsession with Kaison.
Kaison Voltaire
The other main character of the story, a relatively more... normal individual (at first glance, at least).- Deadpan Snarker: Unlike Sho, he tends to keep his smart-ass comments to himself.
- Deuteragonist: We see things from his perspective in as many scenes as we do from Sho's.
- Forgotten Childhood Friend: Shirley doesn't seem to remember who he is.
- Kill It with Fire: His method of getting rid of things.
- Sympathetic Murder Backstory: He knowingly killed his twin brother as a child to save a friend. The exact circumstances are unknown as of the demo, as it is only shown in a quick flashback, but it was traumatizing for him.
- Western Zodiac: A meeting with Layner reveals him to be a Leo.
Shirley Primer
A sickly, wheelchair-bound girl whom Kaison meets one day at the hospital.- Childhood Friends: With Kaison. The demo hints at it, but doesn't confirm whether or not she really is the same person as ??? (below). If she is, then this holds true.
- Hair Color Dissonance: Her hair looks dark green, graphics-wise, but the text describes it as "ash-brown".
- Self-Deprecation: "I'm sorry you have to hear my terrible singing." Yeah, right, Shirley."Self-deprecation has a limit, Shirley Primer." — Kaison
- Trauma-Induced Amnesia: She completely refuses to talk about what happened to her at Sanchez's Home, claiming that she does not remember. It is uncertain if this is completely true, though.

Kaison's childhood friend with a mischievous, impish personality.- Forgotten Childhood Friend: Kaison can't completely recall her.
- Hair Color Dissonance: Her hair looks dark green, graphics-wise, but the text describes it as "ash-brown".
- No Name Given: Her real name is unknown. You get to give her a nickname, though.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Which you get to provide in the game.
- Technicolor Eyes: Her eyes are pink. It's commented as strange in-game as well.
Aurelia Primer
An elegant priestess lady from the Temple of Holy Light - which also happens to be a notorious rebel base. She is also Shirley's older sister.- Hime Cut: The elegant priestess lady wears her hair in this style emphasize her status and feminine charm.
Chloe Goldstein
The only daughter of the Goldstein family, who seems to have a past with both Sho and Heath Perrison.- Elegant Gothic Lolita: Wears black, lacy mourning clothes.
Henry Lenore
Chloe's servant, a trusted servant of her father's.- Battle Butler: Appears to be this, but got taken down quickly (unlike his Ninja Maid sister, who puts up a fight).
Larsen Yew
An 8-year-old boy from a posh private high school in a nearby country who is on an exchange program. He frequently gives his friends and teachers the slip to visit Layner's coffee shop.- Catchphrase: "I'm not a dwarf, I'm a prefect!" followed by Layner going "And those two are mutually exclusive, why?"
- Spoiled Brat: Not necessarily very spoiled, but rich and bratty definitely.
Yao Chunqian
A little girl from a nearby country who is on a trip with her uncle. Both Sho and Kaison first meet her at the Temple of Holy Light, in separate instances.- Anime Chinese Girl: Downplayed. Wears a Chinese-styled blouse and puts her hair in braids, but doesn't tend to have the typical personality of a Chinese girl in anime.
- Hair Color Dissonance: Her hair looks the exact same shade of dark teal as Kaison's, but the narration repeatedly states that it is black.
- Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: She is said to have a doll-like beauty, accentuated by her dark hair and pale skin.
- Temporal Theme Naming: Her given name means "before spring" in Chinese. It is unknown whether or not this is significant, but given that the creator is Chinese and that Chunqian is one of the major characters in the upcoming sequel "Solace in the Snow Fog", it probably is.
