Adversai

    open/close all folders

    General
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While 'evil' is a bit of a misnomer, the Adversai do not tolerate those who seek to prevent progress for selfish or malicious means, or pursue destruction and misfortune For the Evulz like Surtr did. And if one Codex drabble is of indication, the Adversai hate those who destroy progress for selfish/wicked ends and will retaliate without mercy, as shown with a kingdom of wicked Giants who were cursed to be the size of mortal 'Tinies' after they used their divine patronage to destroy the progress of their 'Tiny' subjects out of fear of facing retribution from their own victims.
  • God of Evil: Subverted. All of the Adversai embodies adversity in various aspects, and have no qualms over using their powers to plague sapientkind with all sorts of misfortune. But save for Fallen members like Surtr Muspellson, who destroy and torment For the Evulz, the Adversai devote themselves to constructive purposes by testing mortal/divine sapientkind so they can grow.
  • Karmic Transformation: One Adversai Giant goddess punished a kingdom of mortal Giants for destroying their 'Tiny' subjects' technological progress out of cowardice by casting a curse that shrunk the Giants to cottage-sized beings, and then devouring the Giants' own pantheon so they wouldn't run to their gods for help like they did when the 'Tinies' they abused tried fighting back. While this caused many of the cursed Giants to side with their malevolent, domineering peers during the 'Giant Wars' so they can try break the curse, a sizeable minority joined the benevolent Giants so they can atone for their previous weaknesses and mistakes. It's noted that Pakak would have done something similar had he not been beaten to it, and he approved of the Adversai Giant goddess' karmic sanction.
  • Mentor Archetype: A few entries reveal that the Adversai had a collective part in helping mortals Ascend to godhood, though it comes with said mortals being given a Secret Test of Character in order to prove their worth. Examples of Ascendant mortals who learned from the Adversai are 'Princess' Coldheart and, though unclear, Prince Dissonant Tune.
  • Our Giants Are Different: Several Adversai are recorded to be Giants of various species. Surtr and his younger siblings in particular were sired by Adversus through a Fire Jotunn god.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: One Giant goddess from the Adversai viciously admonished a kingdom of Giants for their cowardly, hypocritical treatment of their 'Tiny' subjects, calling the Giants "spoiled, petulant children" who bullied others, only to run back begging their own pantheon for help when their victims eventually decided to fight back and have the gods punish the 'Tinies' for daring to break the status quo, despite said 'Tinies' being completely in the right to retaliate against their oppressors - and actually winning fair and square due to having advanced while they didn't until they called their gods to cheat.
Adversai Giant goddess: And this is why nothing will ever change, for you Giants as it is for the Dragons! You towering ones are complacent in your size and strength, yet when you faced forces and magnitudes greater than your own, you ran to your own gods, begging like spoiled, petulant children to protect you from your own weakness and folly!

These Tinies you lorded over - who never had the privileges and protections as you had - fought, toiled and struggled over countless generations to overcome the limitations of their own nature and that of the world, and in doing so they found the means, the resolve, to challenge your tyranny! They DESERVED to win! They WOULD have won! But you... you used your patronage to change the verdict.

Revel in you craven triumph all you like - it is nothing! YOU. ARE. NOTHING!
  • Secret Test of Character: Generally, their efforts in spreading adversity, misfortune, and conflict are dedicated to helping mortal/divine sapientkind grow and progress. Those who manage to prove themselves are spared, while those who don't are almost always killed, or punished if they committed a serious transgression. They also impose tests on those who seek to learn how to Ascend, as several Adversai deities did so with a then-mortal 'Princess' Coldheart in the Third Age.

    Strife

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant(?)

Portfolio: Evolution, Natural Selection, Competition, Conflict

Rank: Primeval/Preeminent

Strife (first introduced here) is the Draconequus goddess of Evolution, Natural Selection, Competition, and Conflict, and is the oldest daughter of Adversus.
  • Always Identical Twins: Averted. She and Ergaleía are likely fraternal twins, with her being the younger twin.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Draconequus goddess who embodies Evolution, Natural Selection, Competition, and Conflict.
  • Blade Catch: She caught a sword swing from Surtr, her wayward Fire Jotunn Destroyer Deity baby half-brother when he lost his temper in an argument between them, giving a complete No-Sell towards his attack and showing just how outmatched the younger (soon to be Ex-)Adversai is compare to the billion-years-old firstborn daughter of Adversus.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: She holds an alien mindset to things that's similar to her mother's. Like Adversus, she genuinely wants sapientkind to grow, but has no qualms over plaguing them with all sorts of conflict and misfortune. At times, she herself would appear as a threat for various heroes to fight and will kill those she deems unworthy, but always holds back so she can give everyone a fighting chance. Otherwise, she wouldn't be a proper challenge.
  • Bring It: She challenges Vicearch Iniquitous and her children, the Princelings of Vice, to face her and prove themselves worthy of life, feeling the Malrègnarian Royal Family had gone too long without being tested by a serious challenge. She would later do this to Virtuecrat Fairytale and her children, the Virtuous Ones, and their neutral counterparts as well.
Strife: If you are worthy to continue living and pursue your ambitions, then come! Defy me and prove you are worthy.
  • The Dreaded: As the oldest and most powerful daughter of Adversus, she is one of the most feared and dreaded deities in all of Equus. This stems from her role and beliefs - as a goddess of Evolution and Natural Selection, she forces sapient races to grow by instigating conflict and competition, killing off those she deems unworthy of life while sparing those who manage to impress her. Adding to her reputation is the fact that she almost always uses a fraction of her own power to provide sapientkind a fighting chance. Even Vicearch Iniquitous, a dreaded figure herself, is wary of getting on her bad side, since a daughter of a Grand Primeval deliberately holding back her true power is a sign that other ancient children of the Grand Primevals won't have such reservations in dealing with threats.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While 'evil' is a bit of a misnomer, she hates those who sacrifice all their progress out of self-destructive spite like the Oceanaiads, or commit racial genocide upon their own kind like the First Age's Tirek. As a goddess of Evolution and Natural Selection, such things prevent the growth of sapient species and go against everything she stands for.
  • Get Out!: While Adversus and the Adversai as a whole rejected Surtr when he came to them seeking asylum following his exile from Muspellheim and his Fire Jotunn family and people, it was Strife herself who gave Surtr the eviction notice after chastising him for his destructive psychopathy, before telling him to never come back until he learnt what it really means to be a member of the Adversai.
  • God of Evil: Much like her mother, Adversus, she embodies the dangerous aspects of sapient growth/evolution such as natural selection, competition, and conflict. However, it's subverted as like her mother and fellow Adversai, she uses her nature and domains for constructive purposes by testing mortal/divine sapientkind in order for them to grow.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Averted. She and Ergaleía are likely fraternal twins, with her being the younger twin, and thus can be easily told apart.
  • I Let You Win: As the firstborn daughter of Adversus and a billions of year old goddess, Strife is absurdly powerful, to the point she's considerably stronger than her already apocalyptically powerful younger siblings like Surtr or Traasena. However, she also wants to test mortal kind, not flat out destroy them. As a result, she always holds back enough that she's actually capable of losing. Best shown when Iniquitous and Her Princelings of Vice fought her at full power all at once and just barely managed to win...at which point she merely shrugged it off, congratulated them, and left.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: She's stated to be a Draconequus, implying she has chimeric animal traits of her own.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: In a setting where deities become Stronger with Age, Strife is one of the oldest and the firstborn daughter of Adversus at that, and thus is likely capable of casually leveling kingdoms and lands with little effort if she felt like. To note, her little siblings like Surtr Muspellson and Queen Traasena are capable of destroying civilizations by themselves, gods included, and Strife is far more powerful than either. This is why she always holds back in a fight.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Gave one to her Fire Jotunn Destroyer Deity baby half-brother Surtr over his psychopathic destructiveness after he got kicked out of his Fire Jotunn family and homeland for it by his father for it. For good measure, she would No-Sell an angry sword strike from him and show him just how outclassed he - someone who had levelled whole lands and destroyed whole pantheons in his lonesome - really is to his eldest sibling of Adversity.
  • Time Abyss: The one who introduced her implied she was born when her mother first kickstarted evolution. This makes her billions of years old.
  • War God: She's a goddess of Conflict, and thus has the ability to instigate conflicts.
  • Willfully Weak:
    • Justified. She often holds back when using her power because she wants sapient races to have a chance to prove themselves worthy of life; otherwise it'll just turn into a Curb-Stomp Battle where no one learns anything. The fact that she chooses to hold back lends to her dreaded reputation, as it means other children of the Grand Primevals won't have such reservations when dealing with threats.
    • To note, her 'little sister' Traasena is literally apocalyptic in power, having devoured whole races and destroyed whole civilizations she deemed unworthy in her merciless predations. Strife is still stronger than she is by a considerable margin.

    Traasena, the Queen Predator

Classification: Ascendant, Devourer

Portfolio: Predation, Vampirism, Assimilation, Evolution, Supremacy

Rank: Titan (Type 5/Deity)/Antecedent (Type 6/Deity)

"All worlds follow one rule: Hunt, or be hunted. Kill, or be killed. Consume, or be consumed. It is not a sin to fail and perish, but to not struggle against the odds from the beginning – and those who submit in weakness rather than strive in strength, are those who deserve true extinction. But to those who do not, I salute you: for you are those who could stand triumphant, and rule until a greater opponent come forth to challenge your claim."

Queen Traasena (first introduced in a Drabble here) is an Equine goddess of Predation, Vampirism, Assimilation, Evolution, Supremacy and is an adoptive member of the Adversai.

Once a member of a mighty predatory Equine race of lifeforce vampires, her and her own people's desire to become stronger and greater as well as their dedication to their predatory creeds led to a chain of events which culminated in Traasera consuming her entire race utterly, ascending to godhood in the process. At present, Traasena is now an adoptive member of the Adversai and a predatory force of nature in the form of a vampiric Equine deity, known, dreaded and even respected as an antediluvian goddess beholden mostly to her own philosophy and alien morality of survival and predation, growth and evolution, and seeks ever to evolve and become stronger, better and greater without limits through preying upon and consuming all those whom she deemed uworthy, adding the power, knowledge and skill of uncountable numbers of beings, races, civilizations and even pantheons which fell to her predations to her own.

Yet because of her worldview, nature and associations, she also seek to better the world - albeit in her own alien way - by being an adversary, driving those who escaped her hunger or yet to be predated by her to oppose her, or at least survive her predatory onslaughts. She reward those who did either successfully or otherwise proved themselves to her, often by sparing them from extinction down her gullet, if only so they or their descendants could become stronger still to be challenged and become even greater if they survive, or at least more worthy to be consumed by her later if they fail to do so again. Some she would even turn them into reflections of her and her consumed people, if they are not predators themselves already, whom she would nurture - but also did not spare from being tested by her through her predations, driving them too to become stronger and greater and consuming those who falter.

Through her dedication to her ideals and to her nature, she had achieved countless impossible deeds, and would likely continue doing so long as she and those who are worthy could become stronger, better and greater still, until she stand alone above all creation as the ultimate predator, preying upon all which exists for her eternal sustenance and reign - or until those who are strong, cunning, adaptable and worthy enough arose to challenge if not surpass her, and whom she could at last consider a true equal or superior and be a worthy inheritor of her and her lost people's mantle.
  • And I Must Scream: All those who are consumed by Traasena are left trapped and imprisoned inside her body, all their power, knowledge and skill assimilated to increase her own, while their disembodied existence are subsumed as and within an endless proverbial ocean of essence, channeling lifeforce and other energies which she feed on and would sustain her for all eternity. Though if the Venera Mindseeker of the Paragons' words are any indication, it isn't as bad as it sounds: due to her endless feeding, most of those consumed would eventually fall to a state of dormancy from exhaustion, sleeping and dreaming away eternity and remembered by her only as another meal, give or take some who remain awake to continue struggle and resist against her even after she consume them. You have to really piss her off in some way for her to actively torment you inside her for eternally in rage and hatred.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's an Equine goddess who embodies Predation, Vampirism, Assimilation, Evolution and Supremacy.
  • Arch-Enemy: Served as this for many on account of being a vampiric predator goddess and also an adoptive member of the Adversai.
    • Traasena is implied to to be this for Victorious Princess, the Blood Queen, being the one vampiric 'monster' whom the Blood Queen, despite being immensely powerful herself, had never been able to truly defeat in battle, and who in fact actually has a great shot at killing and/or devouring her and had nearly done so in the past. While other vampire deities are wary of Victorious Princess, Victorious herself is implied to be not just scared, but absolutely terrified of Traasena.
    • She at one point served as this not only for the Paragons and the other greatest superheroes of the time, but also to all the civilizations of the solar system (Veneran, Tellusian, Maretian and others) during the Great Wars Era of the Second Age in the 'Traasena Conflict', and proved to be one of the greatest and most terrifying threats they all faced in the era in her predatory onslaught, consuming millions, destroying entire nations and wiping out entire armies and forces of metabeings and superheroes who tried to stop her. To note, even though she was holding back to give them a fair chance as per her code and as a member of the Adversai, the Paragons, who include the likes of Metamare, Silversmith, and other big-league superheroes often only barely manage to survive direct battles against her, and had only prevailed in the Final Battle by the skin of their teeth... and they didn't even actually beat her, but instead doing something which even she thought was impossible and impressing her enough that, combined with the Ponies and other races' Defiant to the End attitude against her, made her judge them worthy of survival, before departing the solar system with the promise to return one day when they are stronger to challenge or consume them again, a promise which she would fulfill many times throughout the rest of the Age.
  • The Assimilator: Has this as her domain, and is dedicated to becoming stronger, better and greater in every way without limits by consuming all she prey upon and absorbing all their power, knowledge, skills and nature to become ever greater than before. To this end, trillions to quadrillions of beings (if not more) and countless races, civilizations and even pantheons would fall to her predatory hunger and have their qualities and very existence added to her own.
  • Assimilation Backfire: Implied to have happened once with the Paragons and their counterparts from Mares and Venera in the Second Age, after she is implied to have in the Final Battle of the 'Traasena Conflict' not only defeating outright consuming them all mind, body and soul in a repeat of the climax of the 'Dark Crystal Crisis' when Queen Dark Crystal did the same to the Virtuous Seven. Like with Dark Crystal, however, the Paragons and their counterparts managed to somehow break out from her, something even Traasera thought was impossible and which impressed her enough to declare them victorious and their people worthy of survival.
  • Back from the Dead: As if to show just how near-unstoppable she is, it's implied that she had died before, but managed to claw her way back from the afterlife to continue her predatory existence, emerging from the experience stronger and more dangerous than ever.
  • Berserk Button: Fighting against her or against other impossible foes or odds and failing is perfectly fine, since you're being Defiant to the End and showing no fear nor remorse. Running away from her or other threats? Also fine, as trying to survive is perfectly natural and still counts as Defiant to the End. Giving up? That is the cardinal sin to her, and she would show no mercy to those who surrender or submit, condemning whole races and civilizations who does that to extinction for being the weak and cowardly prey they really are by not even trying to survive or win.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Her utter dedication to become ever greater in every way as well as facing all challenges and obstacles with neither fear nor remorse had allowed her to achieve many feats which are suppose to be impossible, from clawing her way back from death and damnation to defeating (and devouring) foes which are supposed to be impossible to beat. She also believes the truly strong and worthy to survive and prevail would face even impossible odds unfazed, and respects and salute those who does and actually emerge victorious.
  • Big Eater: She started off consuming her entire race (who did not begrudge her for it. It's complicated...), ascending to godhood in the process, and just kept going from there, preying upon and devouring countless beings, races, civilizations and even pantheons to both sate her hunger as well as to become ever stronger, better and greater through assimilating their power, knowledge, skills and natures, as well as to drive those who escaped towards self-improvement themselves by becoming stronger, better and greater themselves, either to oppose her or just to survive her predatory onslaught, rewarding those who prove themselves worthy by sparing their existence from their predation or even turning them into her own kinds of predatory vampiric beings (whom she neither spare from her tests or predation). According to some estimates, given how long she had been around and the scale of her predations, it's estimated that she ate somewhere between trillions to quadrillions of beings (if not more), and her ultimate goal (if possible) is to become the ultimate predator standing atop all creation, where she could prey upon everyone and everything for her eternal sustenance and reign. She more than qualifies as a ‘Devourer’.
    • During the 'Traasena Conflict' in the Second Age, she threatened to prey upon and devour all the races and civilizations of not just Tellus, but also Venera, Mares and every other inhabited world of the Solar System, and challenged them all to survive her predatory onslaught. A world leader sardonically mentioned to her rival adoptive Efevresi brother Immortalis when he met with them after the conflict that she personally ate ten million people on Tellus alone.
  • Bigger on the Inside: Implied, like many deities who are also Devourers, as she had consumed not only the lifeforce but even the very existence of countless beings, meaning she must require a lot of space inside her just to store all the accumulated power and meals.
  • Blood Knight: As a personification of predation, she loves a good fight with a Worthy Opponent. Upon learning Lamia's Ortus form is able to rewrite her DNA to remove abilities, Traasena is excited and happy, as it forces her to actually be challenged by robbing her of abilities she's relied on.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Traasena is noted to have an alien moral system, shared by her entire race/civilization and which she built upon, which revolves around survival and predation, and justifies things which would come off as downright horrifying to those with more 'normal' moral systems. To note, when their civilization ran out of prey to feed on and they started predating each other, they literally do not begrudge Traasena for ultimately devouring her entire race, believing all she and they did were completely natural, nor did she regret what she did. She also finds nothing wrong with predating and consuming other civilizations and beings, seeing it simply as her own nature and believing they are in their own right to try and stop her or simply survive her, as well as becoming like her themselves. In the end, she thinks so differently from normal Ponykind between her age, power and nature our understanding of 'Good' and 'Evil' simply don't apply to her, as much as many of whom she predated upon think otherwise as her rival adoptive brother Immortalis, the King of Adaptation found out following the 'Traasena Conflict'.
King Immortalis: I am not defending her actions, but you must understand she is merely following her nature as both predator and adversary...
World Leader(s): She personally ate around ten million people on our planet, Mr Immortalis.
King Immortalis: Yes, and I do admit she could had done a lot worse...
  • Caged Inside a Monster: The revealed fate of all those she preyed upon and consumed - in addition to having all their power, knowledge and skills assimilated to increase her own, their disembodied essence would be trapped inside her along with all others she consumed, channeling lifeforce and other things she needs with their very existence, feeding and sustaining her for eternity.
  • Challenge Seeker: Traasena is constantly seeking beings powerful enough to actually pose a threat to her.
  • Civilization Destroyer: Traasena’s predations are so widespread, thorough and merciless even her smallest feedings could level whole nations and consume millions, and she is mentioned to have destroyed civilization on both Equus and beyond, many, many times. In one notable instance she nearly threatened this (at minimum) to all the races and civilisations of the Solar System in the ‘Traasena Conflict’ during the Second Age, daring them to stop her from devouring them all as prey and prove themselves worthy to survive and thrive as either ‘predators’ or ‘survivors’.
  • Cosmic Horror Story: A predatory antediluvian horror of incredible power and abilities which predates modern civilization by ages, part of a group of even more ancient and incomprehensible beings, driven by alien morality and immortal hunger to devour and destroy entire civilizations and species, while twisting survivors which it deems worthy into monsters reflective of its terrible nature? It is difficult not to see Traasena's entire premise as one.
  • Defeating the Undefeatable: Noted to have done this to many which were considered to be 'impossible' to defeat, only for her to do so and devour them and add their essence to her own. She believe all should strive to defeat the seemingly undefeatable, including herself, and respects them whether or not they succeed or fail so long as they dedicate their every effort to do so and face their odds, or ends, without fear or remorse.
  • Defiant to the End: She admires those who strives and struggles in the face of impossible odds or foes, even if it is against her, and those who does so could be counted on to be spared by her (as in, she spares those she considers worthy by surviving or opposing her and devours the rest. She's still a predator and has to eat). It is implied that in her Blue-and-Orange Morality she considers those who fled from her predation rather than fight her to be worthy of respect as well as they are refusing to simply lay down and die, defying her with every moment they escape her predation. To her, it is submission or surrender which is the cardinal sin, and those who give up are those which she believes to be truly cowardly and weak, and deserves extinction.
  • Determinator: She believes firmly that surrender and submission is a cardinal sin and respects those who refuses to ever give up even in the face of impossible odds (and even actually prevailing against all odds). She herself is so fearless, remorseless and relentless as a predator goddess she doesn't even let things like death or undefeatable opponents stop her, achieving many things which others considered to be impossible in the process.
  • The Dreaded: She is dreaded by countless people simply by existing, being a predatory force of nature in the form of a vampiric Equine divine which had preyed upon and consumed entire civilizations for ages, devouring uncountable trillions to quadrillions over a million years to sate her endless hunger and fulfill her desire to become ever stronger, better and greater until she is the ultimate apex predator standing over and preying on all that exists.
    • To note, while even other Vampire deities are wary of challenging Victorious Princess, the Blood Queen on account of her incredibly might and nigh-unkillability, Victorious Princess herself is noted to be not just scared, but absolutely terrified of Traasena, in part because the Queen Predator is still the only vampiric being whom Victorious Princess had never been able to truly beat, and the only one who actually has a great shot at killing and/or devouring her in turn, and had almost did several times in the past.
  • Emperor Scientist: Implied in some capacity. In her backstory she became the ruler of her own race for developing enhancements to remove their remaining weaknesses and make their people mightier, and between predating and devouring countless beings and lifeforms she is mentioned to have experimented and uplifted if not outright created many different kinds of beings and races into predators like herself (whom she also tested, predated upon and consumed, playing no favourites).
  • Genocide from the Inside: She devoured her entire race in her Horror Hunger, ascending to godhood in the process, though neither she regrets doing it nor her people did not begrudged her for it due to their Blue-and-Orange Morality, and it was partly self-defence as they were trying to eat her and each other too.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: She was responsible for uplifting or provolving many races of 'Lifeforce Vampires' on and beyond Equus, both good or bad, all as reflections of her and her devoured people. This included the Floral Mantids, albeit indirectly, which she explained were descended from one of her uplifts and whom she considered one of her greatest recent successes, regretting the fact she wasn't there to test their worth in person by predating upon and threatening to consume them.
  • God of Evil: Subverted. She is not evil, and in fact operates on an entirely different Blue-and-Orange Morality on account of hailing from a predatory Equine race of lifeforce vampires and being an adoptive member of the Adversai. To her, hunting, killing and consuming prey as predators while their prey struggle to survive and thrive, escaping or even fighting back against them, are all perfectly natural if not outright necessary for growth and evolution. Good and Evil as we or most characters know it in-universe simply do not apply to her. The worst any could do may be to call her mercilessly predatory - which she would consider a compliment rather than a condemnation.
  • Happily Adopted: By the Adversai, one branch of Adversus, the Adversity Primeval's children embodying her aspect as a bringer of growth and evolution through challenges and misfortune, having been challenged by them and challenged them in turn until she impressed them enough to be made a member of their family.
  • Hidden Depths: Beneath her merciless predatory surface, Traasena is implied to had been deeply shakened by her act of devouring her own people (not for actually doing it, mine you, as she and her people saw it as natural, but for having to do it at all partly because of something she did), leaving her all alone in the world as the Sole Survivor with few beings she could truly relate to. Her own philosophy and goal to become the ultimate predator, as well as joining the Adversai in driving those she deem worthy to become stronger, better and greater as she does and uplifting/provolving races and civilizations into reflections of her and her eaten kind are all confirmed and implied to be motivated by a desire to honour her own people's memory and find or create those who she could consider her true equal, so she would no longer truly be alone as both a predator and in bearing her people's legacy. This may also why she eventually joined the Adversai, as they are among the few on Equus most relatable to her in their natures and also among those who may actually equal and even surpass her in power and capabilities and thus deserves her respect.
  • The High Queen: Of her people, having earned her status for improving her people and made them mightier through her unspecified efforts and methods. She retained this in fact and in the eyes of her people even after their Horror Hunger turned them against each other and she eventually consumed her entire race.
  • Horror Hunger: Traasena is driven by a ravenous hunger for the lifeforce and later the very existence of every other living being, and unrepentantly predated upon and consumed trillions to quadrillions to sate it. It is also the reason she became the Last of His Kind: Although her enhancements made her people mightier than ever and was rewarded with rulership for it, it came at the cost of magnifying their previously manageable hunger and sustenance needs to uncontrollable levels, leading to them predating and consuming every living being and creature in their lands, and eventually each other until only Traasena remained.
  • Horrifying the Horror: Traasena invoked this to Victorious Princess, the Blood Queen as one of her Arch-Enemy, being the one vampiric opponent whom the absurdly powerful and nigh-unkillable Bitish/Griffish vampire goddess had never truly been able to defeat and whom nearly killed/devoured her several times. Where almost every other vampire is afraid of Victorious Princess and even rival vampire deities and monarchs are wary of challenging her, Victorious Princess is noted to be not just scared, but absolutely terrified of the Queen Predator.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: To start off, she devoured her entire race, and afterwards she endlessly fed on other beings, races, civilizations and even pantheons across Equus and beyond for both her sustencence and evolution.
  • I Fight for the Strongest Side!: Traasena would not accept Adversus' offer of adoption into the Adversai family as an adoptive daughter until Adversus asserts her dominance and proved herself to be her superior. After a fight which culminated in Adversus agreeing to stop holding back at Traasena's demand and knocking her out-cold with a devastating Megaton Punch that sent her across the planet, Traasena would accept Adversus as her adoptive mother and superior.
  • Implacable Man: Due to her sheer accumulated power and skill from her endless predations and assimilations over a million years, as well as sheer fearless and remorseless determination, Traasena comes off as this, not even letting death or her opponents being supposedly unbeatable stopping her from her goals.
  • It's All My Fault: She initially blamed herself not for devouring her whole race when they turned on themselves, but for dooming her people unintentionally to begin with in seeking to make them greater, only for it to backfire. She would get over it with her lost love (and briefly the only surviving member of her race besides her) encouraging her to carry on her people's legacy and their beliefs.
  • Last of His Kind: Gender-inverted, and in this case unintentionally self-inflicted, having consumed her whole race.
  • Life Drinker: She is a member of an Equine race of predatory vampires who took their sustenance by consuming the lifeforce of other living beings and creatures, especially sapient beings who possess some of the most nourishing, potent lifeforces due to their souls (their consciousness suspended in tangled coagulations of magic) being natural conduits of magic magnifying the channeling and accumulation process.
  • Life Energy: Traasena and her people, as well as the lifeforce vampire races she creates (and consumes) feeds upon Lifeforce, the coagulated living biological magical energy which are produced by the biological processes of all living creatures, especially those of sapient, ensouled beings. It is depicted as extremely nourishing and if properly absorbed and proceesed those who feeds on them becoming very powerful as a result. Even before she devoured them all, she and her race are noted to had become mighty from sustaining themselves on it, and having consumed the Lifeforce (and literally everything else) of countless trillions, if not quadrillions of beings, this turned Traasena into a predatory force of nature who could destroy whole worlds and even the likes of Queen Victorious Princess are wary/terrified of.
  • The Lost Lenore: She had an unnamed lost love from one million years ago who was born of the same kind and was for a brief moment the only other member of her race which remained after they turned on each other in their Horror Hunger. He gave her encouragement to not despair nor feel remorse over what they did and instead honour her people's memory and her own beliefs by surviving, thriving and becoming the ultimate predator there is. She agrees, and then after renewing their love one last time, they fought each other to the death and she ate him too.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Queen Predator".
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": The general reaction to her return in the Fourth Age, which is entirely understandable given her repute.
  • Meaningful Name: Her full name in her people's Starfish Language is Traasena Forcabu Sileni Loanus Asunde which apparently means ‘Hunter of Cunning and Strength who is Fearless and Remorseless’, which basically sums up her entire disposition.
  • Megaton Punch: On the receiving end of one when Traasena challenged Adversus to a battle before she would consider accepting the Adversity Primeval's offer to join her family as an adoptive daughter, then demanded the Adversity Primeval stop holding back after several days of stalemated fighting. Adversus, who WAS holding back as a Secret Test of Character and proud of Traasena for reacting as she should to be worthy of joining the Adversai, agreed, and proceed to knock Traasena out cold with a blow so powerful it surpassed the blow Traasena's future half-brother Surtr received from his father, and sent her flying across half the planet and through several mountain ranges. Realising after waking up that Adversus was still holding back (as if she'd actually gone all out, she'd have killed Traasena in one hit) and that Traasena was truly outmatched, she accepted Adversus' offer and acknowledge Adversus as her mother and superior.
  • Monster Progenitor: She is responsible for uplifting or provolving many races of lifeforce or assimilating predators and vampiric races, such as the Floral Mantids, making many of them in her and her lost people's image.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: It's revealed that while she did not regret devouring her own race - it was simply nature to her and them - she may have regrets that it had to be done at all, as she had sought to improve her people by mitigating weaknesses and enhancing their strength, and for a time it worked, but ultimately it had led to the extinction of her race, leaving her alone in this world with none other like her, and only her memories and the consumed essence of her people struggling and sustaining her inside her body for all eternity. Her lover, the only other member of their kind who remained by the time she came to that conclusion (and would shortly be consumed by her himself), told her not to feel sorry for herself and instead dedicate herself to surviving, thriving and becoming the greatest predator there is in existence, so to honour the memory of her people and ensure their existence would not had been in vain. She agreed and vowed to do so, setting her off on the path to becoming what she is today.
  • Not Afraid to Die: Implied. She casually mentioned the possibility of her dying and shows no fear of it, as if accepting it as perfectly natural should it happen to her. Then again, it's implied she had quite literally clawed her way back from death before, which may add to why she does not fear it partly because it literally doesn't inconvenience her all that much.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Traasena is a member of a prehistoric race and civilization of predatory Equine lifeforce vampires who feeds upon the Life Energy of other living creatures but especially sapient beings (due to them posssessing the most bountiful lifeforce on average). She as a predatory vampiric Equine deity could also transform others she deemed worthy into lifeforce vampires like herself and is confirmed to have uplifted or provolved entire lineages and races of lifeforce-feeding vampiric beings throughout existence, such as the Floral Mantids.
  • Predators Are Mean: While willing to be fair like the rest of her fellow Adversai and greatly respects those whom she deemed strong, cunning, adaptable and worthy, she is ultimately still a merciless predator who sees nothing wrong with predating upon and devouring entire races, civilizations and even pantheons to sate her hunger and become stronger. In fact, asking for mercy is one of the few things which could truly earn her ire, as she despises those who surrender or submit rather than fighting to the bitter end or challenge even the impossible for victory like any determined survivor or relentless predator.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Implied from her quote and backstory to believe and practice this. While she was given rulership of her people as a reward for improving them and making them greater than ever, she would prove that she could hold her position by becoming the last predator standing when her own kind's Horror Hunger raged out of control and turned them against each other to sate it, having defeated all attempts to prey on her and preying and consuming everyone else until she devoured her entire race.
  • Red Baron: Traasena's epithet is "the Queen Predator", highlighting her status as her people's ruler and also her desire and status as an 'ultimate predator' which endlessly predate and devour other living beings and things for her sustenance and ever-increasing power.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Traasena has a rival in the form of Immortalis, the King of Adaptation, an adoptive sibling in the Efevresi branch of Adversus, the Adversity Primeval's blood and adoptive scions, who came to fulfill a role as her counterbalance, being the ultimate survivor to her the ultimate predator.
  • The Social Darwinist: "Type V - The Struggler". She believes the world to be that of one where you either kill or would be killed, hunt or would be hunted, consume or would be consumed, and believes those who are truly worthy or strong would strive to become ever stronger, better or greater while willing to struggle against even impossible odds to the bitter end without fear or remorse. In her Blue-and-Orange Morality, the true cardinal sin is not cowardice as we understood it (as fleeing from predation and refusing to lay down and die is perfectly natural and still counts as defiance), but the cowardice of surrender and submission i.e. giving up. She considers herself to be a force of evolution and growth, both in the sense of seeking to evolve and grow stronger, better and greater by ever predating and consuming others, but also in a sense closer to its original meaning by being an adversarial force driving others to become stronger, better and greater either by fighting against her or just surviving her onslaught, sparing and even rewarding those she deemed worthy (by refusing to give up or even actually prevailing somehow) while weeding out those who are not by hunting and consuming them like the prey they truly are, showing a bit of "Type VI - Weakness Punisher" as well.
  • So Proud of You: She respects strength through survival or predation, and honours those whom she challenged or challenged her and succeed or at least go out Defiant to the End, especially if she had a clawed hoof in their growth and evolution. To note, though they died out fighting against the Paradise Empire and the rest of the world in the First Age, she had nothing but praise for the Floral Mantids (which she had created indirectly through their uplifted predecessors) for their strength and dedication to the 'Survival Of The Fittest', and similarly praised Ponykind for overcoming them and later overcoming her in the 'Traasena Conflict' despite the odds, after pushing the races of the solar system to and pass their limits with her predatory onslaught, only for them to prove themselves to her by surviving and emerge stronger than ever despite their losses.
Traasena: The Floral Mantids? Ah, yes. Among my greatest recent work on this world, albeit indirectly. They were descended from those whom I saw potential and nurtured it, long ago, growing and evolving on their own in some of the deadliest realms of their time. Though they have perished, they die defiant, upholding a version of the creed which I had fully embraced, and for that they have my eternal respect. They seek to be strong, and fell to those who became stronger to overcome them - thus is nature.
  • Starfish Language: Her people's language predated those used in Known History by nearly a million years and are long-extinct by modern times with Traasena herself as its sole remaining user and maybe her fellow Adversai. As such it is considered this, unless a linguist is brave enough to approach Traasena with an offer to record and translate her language - which she might actually entertain owing to the sheer balls involved in approaching someone who won't hesitate to eat the linguist.
  • Super-Toughness: Traasena's accumulated power from her endless predations are so great that it took a blow by Adversus powerful enough to sent her flying across half the planet and through several mountain ranges just to knock her out cold. And this happened ages ago when she was weaker.
  • Ultimate Lifeform: She is considered the 'Ultimate Predator' by certain metrics, and actively seeks to become one herself, growing and evolving ever stronger, better and greater without limits until she either perish or become the ultimate predator standing atop all creation, with all existing below her as her prey to consume and rule over, either for all eternity or until someone strong and worthy enough arose or is nurtured by her who could eventually challenge or even surpass her and carry on her and her peoples' ideals as her true equal/superior.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Seeking to make her people greater, she enhanced them all in some unspecified way and was made queen of her people as a reward. But this came at a cost of magnifying their hunger and need for sustenance, which proved to be uncontrollable, and when they ran out of prey, they turned on each other, with Traasena eventually becoming the last one standing after consuming her entire race.
  • Time Abyss: She had been around for roughly million years, putting her somewhere between a Titan and an Antecedent.
  • Übermensch: She is beholden mostly to her own Blue-and-Orange Morality and her philosophy of survival and predation as both a predatory force of nature in the form of a vampiric Equine deity as well as an adoptive member of the Adversai, fearing not even death and would defy even the impossible in total dedication to her ideals and nature.
  • Vampiric Draining: Hailing from a predatory Equine race of Lifeforce vampires, Traasena could do this even before her ascension. Afterwards she could still do so, and also devour everything else.
  • Vampire Monarch: She earned her crown as the queen of her people, a race of predatory Equine Life Energy vampires, and is the Monster Progenitor of many similar races and civilizations throughout her million-year long existence
  • The Worf Effect: Invoked this on many otherwise incredibly powerful beings by her vast age and power.
    • She challenged the civilizations of the Solar System and the greatest beings and heroes of Tellus, Venera, Mares and other worlds as one of the greatest and most terrifying threats they faced during the 'Great Wars Era' of the 'Second Age', and even though she was holding back to give them a fair chance proved to be one of the few threats whom even the likes of the Paragons and the superpowers of the Age simply couldn't beat under their own power in their first confrontation, instead prevailing by surviving and defying her long enough to prove themselves worthy to survive and thrive and be spared from being all devoured by her.
    • Traasena was noted to invoke this as an Arch-Enemy of Victorious Princess, the Blood Queen, being the only vampiric opponent whom the nigh-unkillable Bitish/Griffish vampire goddess herself, for all her power, still couldn't truly defeat, and who absolute terrified Victorious Princess as one of the few capable of actually killing and devouring her in turn and having nearly done so several times in previous confrontations.
    • On the receiving end when she challenges Adversus to assert her dominance before accepting the Adversity Primeval's offer to be her daughter. After several days being stalemated by Adversus, Traasena reveals Adversus wasn't even trying and was holding back, as she'd failed to even leave a scratch on the Grand Primeval. She demands that Adversus stop holding back. Adversus is proud of her, and does as asked. She's still capable of shrugging off Traasena's strongest attack, before hitting Traasena so hard she's sent flying halfway across the planet, through several mountain ranges, and left knocked out cold. Traasena realizes afterwards Adversus was still holding back so it was a knock out rather than a One-Hit Kill.
  • Wowing Cthulhu: On both giving and receiving end of this as a challenge and challenger of life in the form of a merciless predatory divine.
    • When she returned in the Fourth Age, the Changeling Summer Court, realizing the inevitability of a predatory onslaught from her against not only them but the rest of their kind, sent a delegation to her in hopes of averting it and even striking deals to their mutual benefit as fellow predators. While initially offended by their seeming weakness in trying appease and submit before her power - a cardinal sin in her Blue-and-Orange Morality - she immediately changed her mind upon realizing their true nature as determined survivors and deceptive predators, from the fact that they discovered her awakening faster than most other parties, found their way to her lair, and was ballsy enough to even approach her at all (all impressive by themselves), but also sensing and deducing through the preparations they made before coming to her (Brachion came carrying a hidden immortal-slaying Alicorn Dagger with him to the meeting, while his other brothers and their champions had other weapons and plans) that they are willing to fight to the bitter end for their survival and supremacy if they had to, even willing to face near-impossible odds for a shot at killing her. This impressed her enough to judge them worthy as predators and survivors (for the time being) and scrap her plans to unleash a predatory onslaught against them (as they have already proven themselves), allowing them to make deals with her and even granting boons and taking students from members among them (like Brachion) to make them better predators, although still testing them occasionally against individual changelings or hives and devouring those who falls below her, her scions and the Changelings' general standards.
    • She has undying respect for Queen Majesty for being one of the only mortals to ever narrowly defeat her in one on one combat.
    • She is impressed by the result of Lamia and his fellow Somaneium fusing into the powerful Cataphract. When they further combine with GaoGaiGar, she's even more impressed, calling them the 'King of Kings' and stating they're the apex of her brother's creations, something that excites her a great deal to fight.
