  • Ballet: She is a trained ballerina and has even won competitions for it, but quit right before high school because her instructor moved away.
  • Beginner's Luck: She manages to beat a top-ranked idol in her first outing as Hana.
  • Be Yourself: Has to learn this lesson after she becomes worried she's not doing a good job as Hana.
  • Childhood Friends: With Shiori since third grade. She's also known Keito since before high school.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Smart Kyūbi, Hana's second Dressia, suffers from this after she obtains Pureful Phoenix.

  • Buffy Speak: Often uses made-up words and onomatopoeia when she talks, making it difficult for some people to understand her. It even ends up a Plot Point in one episode where she's trying to pitch a drama to a screenwriter but has trouble conveying her ideas.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Unlike the previous blue deuteragonists, Ruli is not Mao's closest friend, with that role instead falling to Shiori.
  • Fainting: Passes out in her first focus episode.

  • Academic Athlete: Stated to be in her introductory episode.
  • The Ace: In addition to being athletic and intelligent, she's also a great idol, sitting comfortably at the top ranks and eventually making her way to second behind Q-pit.
  • Be Yourself: Learns to embrace the fact that Kyoko and Beat are both a part of her, thus ultimately convincing her to go public with her identity as an idol.
  • Catchphrase: "ja nai?", which in English translates to something like "isn't it?".
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Best illustrated when the girls are practicing lines for a movie audition and one of Mao and Shiori's female classmates eagerly offers to play Kyoko's male scene partner.
  • Fantasy-Forbidding Father: Averted. While initially shocked at the revelation, Kyoko's traditional parents are ultimately supportive of her idol activities.

  • Secret Identity: Kyoko kept her identity as Beat a secret because she felt it added to her mystique. She eventually decided to go public after she slipped up while filming a show but the director still found her interesting.

  • Brainy Brunette: Very scholarly and quite knowledgeable about a lot of subjects. Averted in her avatar form where she has silver hair.
  • Catchphrase: "Now here's a question for you" which she says when quizzing others.
  • Childhood Friends: With Mao, and subsequently with Kanade. She has also known Keito since before high school.
  • Cute Bookworm: She's been an avid reader since she was a kid.
  • Fairy Tale: She's loved them since she was a kid, with her favorite being Alice in Wonderland. This is actually what inspires her to become an idol, attributing them to being the main characters of a story.
  • Meaningful Name: Her first name means "bookmark", while the first kanji in her last name means "book". Shiori is big on reading and her preferred Dressia type is Story.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Mao's red.
  • The Reliable One: Often seen helping out others. It's even brought up as one of her strengths when she doubts whether she can seriously become an idol.
  • Secret-Keeper: For Mao until she went public with her identity as Hana.
  • Shrinking Violet: She admits she's never been one for being the center of attention.
  • Support Party Member: Essentially her role prior to her own idol debut.

  • A Day in the Limelight: Finally gets some shine when she comes out of retirement as an idol, but it is short-lived as attention soon shifts to the Planet Princess Grand Prix.
  • Big Eater: Implied, as many of her scenes have her with something to eat in hand.
  • Cool Big Sis: Functions as one to the other girls, giving them advice to their various worries and problems.
  • Eccentric Artist: She sometimes suffers from creative blocks due to tackling philosophical questions about dresses.

  • Out of Focus: Despite being a main character, her role is relatively minor in comparison to the others due to primarily being a designer. Even when she resumes being an idol in the second half of the show, she doesn't participate in the Grand Prix which drives the main plot.

  • Cuteness Proximity: Fawns over a hedgehog Mao and Ruli try to use to lure Sala out of her room.
  • Passing the Torch: Scouts Mao to become Meisa's successor and take up the mantle of Hana.
  • Team Mom: Naturally takes on this role as the girls' manager.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for Meisa leaving the agency because she kept accepting job offers for Hana when Meisa wanted to study music overseas.

  • The Ace: She's frequently regarded as "perfect" because she's so good at everything she does.

  • Determinator: The biggest example out of all the girls.

  • Childhood Friends: Keito has known Mao and Shiori prior to high school.
  • My Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad: What Keito and Sho usually devolve to whenever Hana and Q-pit are directly competing against each other.
  • Otaku: They're all huge idol fans, with virtually every conversation they have being about idols.
  • Those Two Guys: Rarely seen without each other.
  • Tsundere: Keito, having been a fan of Meisa's Hana, acts this way towards Mao after she goes public as the new Hana.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Keito and Sho are often at odds due to their favorite idols (Hana and Q-pit, respectively) being rivals.

  • Gender-Blender Name: Kanade is a traditionally feminine given name.
  • Otaku: Revealed to have been a big fan of Meisa's Hana, so imagine his shock when he found out his little sister has become his favorite idol.
