Episode 1: Cell in a Hell

  • After being an unstoppable beast for most of the series, Cell gets hit with karma hard once he reaches the afterlife. King Yemma sends him to HFIL after taking one look at his rap sheet, and Cell's powers are completely nullified thanks to an ankle bracelet Goz and Mez put on him.
  • Turns out you can get out of HFIL if you're good enough, but Freeza isn't interested. He knows who he is.
Freeza: Word of advice. You want out of here? Play nice, work off your time and convince them you're not a total piece of shit.
Cell: Oh, really? If it's that easy, why the here are you still here?
Freeza: Oh, you see, Perfect Cell, it's because...
(Freeza wraps his tail around Cell's neck and starts choking him)
Freeza: I know who I f***ing am. I'm a child-killing, people-enslaving, galactic tyrant. And I'd rather die a million more times before I ever pretend otherwise.
    Cell: Y... You've awakened something, I think.
    (Freeza snaps his neck)
Freeza: Welcome to the Home For Infinite Losers, loser!
  • The massive villain reunion in this episode is made possible by Marc Soskin reprising his roles as King Yemma, Recoome, and Jeice after largely retiring from voice acting.

Episode 2: Sharing Circles of Hell

  • After everyone mocks his death at the hands of Gohan during the Sharing Circle, Cell actually manages to strike a nerve in Freeza by hinting that he knows how Freeza really died, note  which he had been purposefully vague about. After breaking down Cell in the previous episode, suddenly Freeza is horrified to find the shoe on the other foot and immediately goes on the defensive.
Freeza: Literally felled by a whelp. And Goku's, no less! Yet you seem so adorably proud of yourself.
Cell: "Proud"? No. (chuckles) But I'm not gonna act all insecure about it. What kind of loser would that make me?
    Goz: An infinite one?
    Cell: (points at him) Mmhm!
Freeza: I'm sorry, is that an insinuation?
Cell: Oh, no, no, no, I'm not trying to cut you to pieces in front of anyone or anything.
Freeza: Hmph. A wise decisi- (realizes what Cell just said with a horrified face)
Cell: You know, while we're on the subject, what planet did you die on again? I don't remember. Was it Namek, or Earth?
Freeza: (through gritted teeth) The planet I deigned to conquer…!
Cell: Well… I guess things got dicey.
    • Also, if Goz and Mez hadn't… “broken up” Cell and Freeza's escalating argument, Cell was going to reveal something that even Freeza didn't know; the Super Saiyan that killed him was Vegeta's son.
    • The raw tension in the air visibly unsettles the rest of the circle. Zarbon and Jeice look borderline frightened as Cell and Freeza continue to grasp at each other's throats. Even Goz and Mez look uncomfortable as they can see they're starting to lose control of the situation.

Episode 3: DodgeBall Z

Episode 4: O Captain! My Captain!

  • HFIL started out as a couple tents in the middle of nowhere. The Ginyu Force were so enraptured by the experience they offered to build the entire cul-de-sac as part of their community service.

Episode 5: Home for Infinite Pranksters

  • The perpetrator of the pranks against Cell all day turns out to not be Freeza, as is alluded to by his endless amusement towards the bio-android taking the fall, but Guldo. His ability to freeze time to move things about is invaluable as evidenced by a paint bucket falling on Cell after he had opened the front door, and even when caught setting up a bunch of mousetraps, he just blinks out when Cell tries to tackle him, making Cell crash into the trap he set.
    • The list of pranks (whether or not the other members of the Ginyu Force helped) includes: Tipping Guru onto the floor like a (space) cow, taking the screws out of Cell's chair at the sharing circle, changing the lock on Cell's front door during the brief moment he was outside, unplugging the TV, stealing the batteries from the remote, rigging said remote to trigger an airbag from the couch, setting up a bucket of white and purple paint, setting up a second bucket of pink paint, and putting glitter into Cell's soap bar.
    • To up the ante on his feats, Guldo's Time Freeze works via holding his breath. He did all of these increasingly exhaustive tasks in a single gasp of air.
  • Raditz gets a pretty nice comeback after refusing to help Cell get back at the Ginyu Force for their pranks:
"Friends don't need to be accomplices to be friends!"
  • Admit it, seeing Guru decide to get the Ginyu Force back is exciting.

Episode 6: FROGNAPPED

  • Although the use of ki is nil in HFIL, it doesn't block anyone from using martial arts at their fullest. And Cell proved that with his impressive beatdown on the Ginyus and reminding everyone what it feels like to be beaten down by the amalgamation of 150 years worth of accumulated martial arts knowledge from the greatest warriors in the galaxy and Vegeta.
  • Upon finding out that "Ginyu" is really a frog who switched bodies with him, Recoome, Burter, and Jeice consider abandoning him. Guldo however speaks up, declaring that the frog is part of the team, and calls out the others for being too afraid of losing the captain. Guldo even stops Jeice from interrupting him like so many others have done throughout the series, showing how much of a backbone he's grown.
    Jeice: Guldo... you-
  • The final shot of the episode: King Cold returns.

Episode 7: Daddy's Home

  • While the jury is out as to whether or not it's a scheme, King Cold actually managed to get out of HFIL, and earned enough good will from the ogres to the point where he also got promoted to being a member of HFIL's staff.
    • And ruse or not, his calling out of Freeza for his attitude is worth a mention. During the Wall Climb, he gave a Disapproving Look at his son's showboating atop the structure, and the Trust Fall exercise has him voicing his concerns after catching Cell when Freeza was supposed to do so:
      Freeza: Daddy! You ruined it!
King Cold: (Clearly unimpressed) You didn't even have your arms up, Freeza.
Freeza: Yes! He would have hit the ground, everyone would have laughed— good time for all! E-except him, but... (smirks) you know.
King Cold: What I know is that if you ever want to get out of here, you need to be better, Princess.
      (Cell snickers in his arms)
King Cold: (sternly while glancing at Cell) You shush.
      Cell: (abashed) Yes, Daddy.

Episode 9: Insecurity System

  • After Freeza slaps Cell for snarking at him, Cell responds by simply slapping him right back with zero hesitation. After all, doing better doesn't mean he has to take anyone's crap.
  • A very subtle one for Cell. Once Freeza rants go overboard and he starts chiding Cell in a very personal way, how does Cell react? "I'm going to sleep." He doesn't give in and trash talks Freeza's relentless tantrum back. Keeps in line that even though he's trying to graduate he isn't willing to deal with Freeza more than he has to.
  • King Cold manages to effortlessly construct an alibi to hide his intentions for stalking around at night... by simply hiding his actual reason in between genuinely good things for a manager of a rehab facility to do when they stop by for an inspection, like ensuring the safety of patients and trying to see why they're breaking curfew.

Episode 10: Tonight We Dine In HFIL

  • Freeza refusing an invitation to an event that could provide him some extra brownie points with King Cold and let him torment Cooler a bit more. A small moment, but clearly one that shows he realizes how dysfunctional he actually is as a person because he was always handed things by his father and wants time to himself to figure things out.
  • Freeza finally finds out that Cell actually killed Goku from King Cold. (And from Cell's "again, which one?" he can infer that Cell killed Future Trunks too.) His reaction is a shocked, stunned silence as he realises that Cell was able to beat the one opponent Freeza never could. Taking the would-be conquerer, even if just for a moment, down a peg. Even better it was mostly unintentional from Cell's part. All he wanted to know was how Cooler died, but Freeza took a jab at him which probably made King Cold go in unnecessary detail about it, eventually leading to the sudden revelation that left Freeza absolutely floored.
  • Minor one, but Bojack's, erm, bombastic intro is pretty awesome. He laughs maniacally and immediately makes his presence known after being put in the proverbial bus for literally over a decade. The next thing he plans? Conquering Earth. It didn't end up well for him, though.
    • That Bojack isn't letting his death get to him and he's making the most of the afterlife.
      "And yet, I persist."
