Why is Super Kami Guru in HFIL?
  • They explain that HFIL is to help contain "morally compromised malefactors" who are too powerful to be held in regular hell. Guru however hasn't shown any ability to be a threat; it doesn't seem like he can even walk. Aside from being funny, why is he grouped in with otherwise dangerous characters?
    • If the soul scrubber broke because of Raditz's hair, what makes you think they could stuff Guru in there?
    • Being the source of the Namekian Dragon Balls and having the ability to unleash hidden potential, it is plausible that Super Kami Guru has more raw power inside him than he seems to. As to why beyond the reasons stated above? A similar Rule of Funny to Mr. Popo, most likely.
    • Motivation for the others to do their time and get out.
    • He was responsible for the genocide of the Albino Namekians by blaming them for the drought he caused. Fairly sure that's HFIL-worthy.
      • The question isn't why is Guru in HFIL for being evil. The question is why is Guru in HFIL when he's not a threat.
      • Possibly because of his magical abilities? He WAS the one who created the Namekian Dragon Balls after all. And since Guldo is also in HFIL despite his much lower ki level than most of the others, other abilities possibly could be included in the decision for where a villain goes.
      • I'm 98% certain being that able to convince people to commit genocide against, other people pretty much validates you as a threat.
      • Plus, wasn't it stated that he was Lord Slug's "evil half" (similar to how King Piccolo was Kami's)? And Lord Slug was already a major villain even in the Abridged series. I believe that also qualifies him has being evil.

     Where are the other villains?
  • It's established that the soul scrubber was broken by Raditz's hair, and the Home For Infinite Losers exists for people at his power level and above because they have no way of fixing the problem being rehabilitation. Now, Nappa is so far the one (and perhaps only) known case. But the question is where is the others? Cui, King Cold, Cell Juniors, Saibamen all meet the requirements to be there, but it seems they don't exist. Gero might have been scrubbed, but considering Otherworld in this continuity says that machines have souls, he should probably be there too.
    • The Saibamen and Cell Juniors probably don't have souls as they're little more than powerful animals created to fight for a few minutes. The Saibaman couldn't even talk. According to the third episode Cui wasn't evil enough to go to hell. And since Freeza has his full body Gero would presumably also be given his human form and thus easily scrubbed. King Cold on the other hand is a mystery, as there's no way he wouldn't qualify.
      • It would be insanely ironic if he was the second successful case.
      • Shockingly, he is. Sort of, anyways.
      • The manga showed the Cell Jr's survived, regenerated and were later found and tamed by Android 17. They currently live on Monster Island and are his assistants.
    • It could also just be that the portion of HFIL Cell ended up in is just one subdivision in a potentially MUCH larger neighborhood.
      • It would make sense, particularly if the Freeza Force on Namek was stated to contain dozens of people who were at the same level of strength as Vegeta was at the end of his first fight with Goku, and Cui and Nappa were lesser or equal to that level of power. So there should be far more villains, however, it might interrupt therapy if the Ogres have to split their attention in too many ways at the same time. By having a smaller, more intimate group, the Ogres can get more facetime with each individual MCM, and thus accelerating the healing process. If such is the case, then there could very well be other Ogres running other therapy camps for groups of villains.
      • This seems particularly likely, with King Cold showing up to visit Freeza in The Stinger of Episode 6.
    • If the ogres were serious, perhaps King Cold ended up in Super Hell. He is the father of Freeza, who commands respect and obedience from his son even when Freeza is the one noted as the space emperor face of their empire.
      • King Cold is confirmed to have graduated in Episode 7, so it seems like he never went to Super Hell.
    • Cui’s absence is explained in the third episode. Apparently, hating Vegeta was his only sin, so he wasn’t sent to HFIL.
      • Episode 4 shows that Cui was sent to HFIL at some point, since he appears in a group photo with Raditz, the Ginyus and Nappa. But since his biggest sin was hating Vegeta, it's likely he just didn't have a long stay there.
    • According to Episode 7, King Cold was the first villain for the ogres to successfully reform, and was then promoted to middle management. He also mentions HFILs, implying there is more than one.
      • Small correction: Cold was the first to get a job, but not the first to graduate. This implies that all the other villains reformed.
    • There are multiple HFILs. Cooler and Bojack are in another one. Presumably Gero is as well.

Why is Ginyu a frog in Otherworld?
  • It's established in Dragon Ball that you only get to keep your body when you die if you were good in life, so why did Ginyu appear in Otherworld in the frog's body?
    • Rule of Funny. Filler in the anime just let anybody keep their body in Otherworld (from selfish people like Bulma to villains like the Ginyu Force), and the Ginyu force appeared with their bodies in DBZA in Otherworld as well. So it isn't a surprise Ginyu did as well, but the bigger question is why Ginyu was put in the Soul Scrubber, despite the fact that it is specifically for evil souls and Yemma thought he was just talking to a frog.
      • Yenma thought the frog was talking to him at first, so he may have wondered if it's sentient, so he put the frog through the soul scrubber, just in case.

Why is Raditz still in HFIL?
  • He's arguably the least evil MCM there, and he's shown to be generally nice enough to his neighbors. He's also the weakest MCM there too, other than maybe Guldo. Are the ogres just keeping him there due to his Butt-Monkey status or is he really still evil? Or is he there just so he can stay together with Dodoria?
  • My guess is that becoming a nicer person isn't enough. You need to actually show remorse for your past actions.
  • That or King Yemma is still pissed at what he did and wanted Raditz to stay there longer. Remember Raditz managed to escape from Yemna before (and kicked him in the "red bean bag") but ended up falling into HFIL and is most likely serving time for doing that.
  • Maybe Raditz could be just apathetic (still unrepentant), like someone serving a 30 year sentence but only 5 years in and merely behaving well in hopes of a reduced sentence, and is not actually reformed and the ogres probably know he'd quickly slip back to his old ways the moment he got his Ki back.

     Frieza's psychic powers.
  • Raditz and Guru note that Guldo is able to use his time stop because it isn't ki-based. But Frieza also has psychic powers in the form of psychokinesis. Why hasn't he used these to escape or run amok?
    • Considering how Guldo hasn't used his psychokinesis in HFIL either, only his time-stop, the most likely explanation is that the characters use Ki for telekinesis.

How do Burter and Recoome know that Vegeta killed them?
  • Both of them were unconscious when Vegeta killed them, so they couldn't have known who it was. And they couldn't have heard it from Jeice because he thought Goku killed them, and he ran off to get Captain Ginyu before Vegeta did the deed. Did King Yemma tell them how they died or something?
    • Probably. He openly refers to Cell being killed by Gohan at the beginning of Episode 1, after all.

     Freeza and the race joke.
  • Why would Freeza assume that being white is “normal”? He’s a galactic conqueror who has presumably seen (and slaughtered) many alien civilizations. Hell, even among his own race, he’s the only white member. Did he just so happen to primarily encounter white-colored aliens in his 70+ years of conquest?

Why didn't Cell tell Freeza that he killed Goku?
  • Besides the knowledge of who really did Freeza in this would be a good way to make Freeza shut up and stop bugging him (before his decision of not antagonize Freeza even more).
    • Maybe he's embarrassed about the circumstances - after all, he didn't actually defeat Goku, it was a sacrifice play. Goku died thwarting his attempt to destroy the world.
    • Honestly, it seems like he was saving that fact for later. He didn't seem bothered when King Cold inadvertently told Freeza about Cell not only killing Goku, but Trunks, and just looked smugly at Freeza's shocked face.

About Episode 9's post-credit scene... (Spoiler alert)
  • Something that seems odd... Why Freeza was nervous about who King Cold would bring in? Was he was expecting it to be another relative, let alone Cooler, or someone else entirely? Why would Freeza even consider that Cooler, who was also very powerful (before the whole Super Saiyan thing) to be even in HFIL in first place?
    • Freeza doesn't know that many people who would qualify to be in HFIL, let alone another HFIL. He also knows that King Cold would love the opportunity to bring his sons along on something. Freeza put two and two together and went "Oh shit, if Cooler is here, Father was bound to bring him along."
