Attempted Rape in Films.
Animation:
- Steele's attraction to Jenna in Balto can be interpreted as this, given how uncomfortable she looked when he was getting close to her in the boiler scene.
- DC Universe Animated Original Movies:
- Batman vs. Robin sees Damian Wayne saving an old couple from some punks, who intended to rape the wife.
- One of the more negatively-received parts of Batman: Bad Blood is Kate Kane's motivation for becoming Batwoman being changed from still trying to do some good after being forced out of the army by "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" to resentment towards Batman from saving her from a gang who tried to rape her.
- Surprisingly, Disney, of all companies, sneaks this in their movies a lot despite the squeaky clean image.
- In Aladdin, Jafar attempts to force Jasmine to marry him.
- Bambi: After Bambi and Faline meet each other again as adults and become "twitterpated", a rival buck (Ronno) shows up and begins forcing Faline apart from Bambi. It was mating season. And it was pretty clear Faline was not willing to go with him. However at this moment Bambi is enraged, he fights and beats Ronno, and Faline decides to be Bambi's mate.
- In Beauty and the Beast, Gaston attempts to have Belle as his wife by any means necessary. To that end, he arranged an unwanted marriage proposal and cornered her in the front door of her house in an attempt to force himself on her. However, Belle's response was to throw him out from her house into a mud pit in disgust.
- The Little Mermaid (1989): It's usually overlooked because of the gender reversal, but Ursula's plan to marry Eric is rape by fraud/deception, assuming she planned to consummate the marriage.
- The Lion King (1994) had an example. Scar was planning to force
Nala to be his queen. This is the original reason why she left the Pride Lands. This scene never made it in the final movie. The musical keeps it however, and someone made a professional quality animation of the scene using audio from the musical. - The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Frollo's plan is pretty blatantly to force Esmeralda to become his mistress or be burned at the stake.
- Hercules: Incredibly blatant example. Megara is introduced being sexually harassed by a centaur, which in the original myths are well known for being rapists, including this same specific one that tried to rape Hercules' wife in the original myths...
- Osanai tries to rape Paprika but the Chairman interrupts and tries to kill her.
Live-Action:
- 28 Days Later: Jim's bloody rampage ends with him rescuing his love interest, Selena, and the girl, Hannah, he's a Parental Substitute for, from the soldiers who planned to rape them.
- 3 Days to Kill: Zooey is nearly gang-raped by some young men at the club. Her father Ethan finds her and beats the bastards severely, rescuing her before it can happen.
- Absolute Power (1997): Richmond's consensual encounter with Christy turns into attempted rape after he slaps her around (apparently for fun) and she resists afterward.
- In Adventure in Sahara, the brutish Karnoldi attempts to rape Carla, forcing a showdown between him and Jim Wilson: her fiance and the leader of The Mutiny.
- In The Adventures of Robin Hood, its On Patrol Montage climaxes with one of Prince John's Mooks about to rape a Saxon girl. Robin Hood puts a stop to that villainy with an arrow in the blackguard's back.
- Alien³: A group of prisoners attempt to rape Ripley, but she struggles and Dillon shows up with a crowbar to "re-educate" his brothers.
- The Assignment (2016): Post sex reassignment, Frank is nearly raped by the sleazy owner of the hotel that he was put in. Frank overpowers and beats up the guy, then flees the premises.
- Back to the Future has an interesting example, in that it follows a staged instance of Date Rape Averted that sees Marty trying to help his father's past self get Lorraine, only for Biff to bust in and try to have his way with her for real. Then George comes in and finds the inner strength to punch Biff, saving Lorraine.
- Barbarella: Two none too friendly-looking goons drag Barbarella to an alley and throw her against the wall. As they leer at her and Barbarella braces herself, the King Incognito Black Queen appears and stabs the men to death.
- There was an attempted rape scene in, of all movies, Beethoven's 2nd. Yes, a PG-rated family movie. Made even worse by the fact that both characters (the rapist and the victim) were underage. The victim is saved in the nick of time by Beethoven. This scene was heavily criticized by many critics as seeming out of place in an otherwise innocuous comedy.
- Bio-Dome: Bud and Doyle sneak into the rooms of the two attractive female scientists and climb into bed with them. They are even shown reaching their hands down to the women's crotches. They're stopped when the women wake up and throw them out. This is all played as a joke.
- The Birth of a Nation (1915) is still to this day very infamous for combining this trope with Scary Black Man. A freed slave named Gus (played by a white actor in Blackface) chases a white woman through the woods with the intent of raping her. In the end Gus corners her at a cliff and she jumps to her death to escape him.
- Near the start of the 1950s Save Our Students flick Blackboard Jungle, the new female teacher is almost raped by a student but he is chased off and caught before anything happens. Later, Rick's wife wonders if she provoked the boy but Rick says she was just wearing normal, conservative clothes.
- In Blackenstein, Malcolm attempts to rape Winifred. It is interrupted by the arrival of Winifred's fiance Eddie, who is now the mostrous Blackenstein (ironically because of Malcolm's sabotage of his treatment). Eddie pulls him off Winifred and kills him. Winifred flees before Eddie can attempt to force himself on her.
- BloodRayne: Rayne is almost raped by one of the circus workers, but during the quarrel some blood is drawn and her powers are awakened, resulting in her feeding on him fatally before she escapes.
- In The Book of Eli, a woman is about to be raped when the would-be rapist receives an arrow to the... well let's just call it a case of poetic justice.
- This happens in The Boy Next Door when Noah corners Claire in the boys' bathroom and tries to recreate their one-night stand. She's able to fend him off with a kick to the groin.
- In The Bride, Frankenstein attempts to rape Eva, but Viktor, who has sensed Eva's distress through their Psychic Link, bursts into the room in time to stop him.
- The climax of Castle Freak is kicked off when the titular monster Giorgio carries off teenaged Damsel in Distress Rebecca to his dungeon, chains her up, licks her neck, and attempts to remove her bra. Her parents intervene before he can go any further and ultimately kill him.
- In Change of Habit, Julio breaks into Michelle's apartment with a knife and pins her on the bed. Carpenter hears her screaming, runs in, and punches the rapist.
- Chatterbox: Penny is nearly raped by a woman who mistakenly believes that Penny is coming on to her and doesn't realize it's Penny's talking vagina that made the suggestive remarks. It only stops when Penny's boss walks in.
- In The Cheat (1915), the bad guy refuses to take no for an answer after the sort-of heroine tries to renege on a money-for-sex deal. He winds up branding her before she shoots him and runs away.
- Con Air has Johnny-23, a Serial Rapist who is so named for his 23 counts of rape. When he tries to rape the only female corrections officer on board the title plane, he is stopped violently by Cameron Poe.
- The Condemned (2007): Yasantwa fends off an attempted rape by the German inmate right after she's dropped on the island, killing him.
- The Craft: Sarah puts a love spell on Womanizing jerkass Chris Hooker after he spread rumors about them sleeping together. The infatuation escalates to the point of stalking and then a rape attempt. She stops him by kneeing him in the groin and running away.
- Dark Angel: The Ascent: A pair of street muggers attack a woman with clear intent to rape her before Veronica intervenes by killing them.
- Day of the Outlaw: The lecherous Tex looks like he is about to force himself on Helen but is stopped from doing by bandit leader Bruhn; at gunpoint.
- Doomsday Machine: A male astronaut not chosen by the Cold Equation for the Adam and Eve Plot goes after one of the female crew members and gets them both killed in the vacuum of space.
- In Dracula vs. Frankenstein, Rico and his biker gang attempt to rape Samantha on the beach, but are killed by the Axe-Crazy Groton.
- King Einon does this to Kara in Dragonheart, and she stabs him to drive him away. It works. In the expanded novelization of the film, there's no attempt - he does rape her.
- In Drive, He Said, Gabriel breaks into Olive's house while she's taking a bath and tries to rape her, using the "Not If They Enjoyed It" Rationalization. She fights him off and runs outside screaming for help, where Hector and Richard both show up.
- In Dumb and Dumber, Sea Bass is moments away from raping Lloyd in a bathroom stall, when Harry slams the door open, knocking Sea Bass out.
- In The Expendables, a pair of Garza's soldiers who are not terribly bright try to rape Sandra while she is being held captive in the palace's basement. Then Ross shows up, and expresses his disagreement with their actions. And his disagreement is very sharp.
- In the German movie Das Experiment, a version of the Stanford Prison Experiment is carried out which has Gone Horribly Wrong within a matter of days. The guards even imprison several of the scientists when they believe it is just another "test", and one of the guards tries to rape the female one after previously having forced her to strip in front of him. He is interrupted when Prisoner #77 escapes from the Punishment Box.
- Fear Street: In "Part Three: 1666" Caleb tries to rape Hannah, but Sarah stops him.
- In Das Finstere Tal, Greider foils the Brenner boys' attempt to rape Luzi on her wedding night.
- Flowers of War: The Japanese soldiers who break into the church try to rape the school girls. Major Li thankfully stops them.
- Gibb of Freddy vs. Jason presumably ingests some date rape drugs at a rave and falls unconscious, with a glow stick covered sleaze happening upon her a few minutes later. As the guy tries to rape Gibb, who should come along but Jason, who impales the two of them with a broken tractor harrow. Also near the end, when Lori, trapped in her nightmare by Freddy, while wearing a nightgown, is about to raped by said madman before waking up.
- Freshman Year: Marcella goes out with a guy who tries to force himself on her. She fights him off and the guy didn't push further, instead bragging falsely that she quickly had sex with him, infuriating CJ. He quickly suspects the truth, with Marcella confirming it (but not pressing charges).
- In Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan a pair of street thugs drug and try to rape Final Girl Rennie, who is only saved when Jason (whose chased Rennie all the way from Crystal Lake) shows up kills the two thugs, impaling one with a syringe and smashing the head of the other off a hot steam pipe.
- In Gang of Roses, Little Suzie attempts to rape Rachel's sister. When the sister fights back, Suzie kills her instead.
- Gone with the Wind:
- In a scene toned down considerably from its counterpart in the book, Scarlett is attacked by two hobos while riding through a poor part of town.
- Rhett also tries to rape Scarlett and later forcefully does, but because of the values of the time it's not seen as this in-universe.
- A Good Woman is Hard to Find: When Sarah's son Ben gets into Tito's drugs Sarah fakes that she's into him, distracting Tito with the offer of sex. She can't go through with it though, and he's so angry he tries to rape her.
- In The Gunfight at Dodge City, Dave Rudabaugh enters Lily's bedroom and attempts to force himself on her. Her screams bring Bat Masterson and Rudabaugh uses this an opportunity to try to murder Bat.
- In Hangman's Knot, Rolph Bainter forces nurse Molly Hull up against the wall and attempts to force himself on her. Her scream brings Major Stewart who settles matters with his fists.
- Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters: In the extended cut, in the scene where the corrupt Sheriff Berringer and his goons brutally beat Gretel up, they also started pulling off her clothes and threatening to rape her, until Edward shows up and kills them. Viewers who only saw the original cut were confused why Gretel's jacket disappeared when Edward showed up.
- In Hardcore Henry, Henry and Jimmy come across three dirty cops trying to rape a woman. Jimmy says they have more important things to do, but Henry marches over and kills them.
- Hard Rain: The deputy tries to rape Karen after the sheriff makes it clear that there could be no witnesses.
- Hick: Luli is nearly raped by a man in the bathroom, but manages to hold him off long enough before Eddie intervenes.
- In The Hidden Fortress, Tahei and Matashichi regularly make passes at 16-year-old Princess Yuki and even draw straws while she's asleep to see who will "have some fun". It's played for laughs.
- Hud has the title character nearly raping housekeeper Alma while drunk. His nephew Lonnie stops him.
- In The Idolmaker, Tommy lures a fourteen-year-old fan into his car by offering her a free record. Once they're in there, he starts aggressively kissing her, unbuttoning her sweater, and groping her thigh while she tries to push him away and says, "Don't!" Vinny pulls them apart, buys the girl's silence with a stack of free records, and bawls Tommy out for endangering his Contractual Purity with an underage girl.
- In The Intruders, Marcus tries to rape Rose. She escapes by stabbing him with a shard of glass.
- In Jack the Ripper (1976), Orloff abducts Cynthia and takes her to the greenhouse where he attempts to rape her, but is foiled by the arrival of Inspector Selby and the police.
- Jailbait (2014): Anna kills her stepfather in defending herself from his rape attempt at the beginning of the film. Unfortunately, her mother and the cops don't believe what happened, so Anna is sent to prison.
- In Knife for the Ladies, Elizabeth throws Jen to her degenerate son Travis to rape; hoping this will result in an heir for the Mescal family. Jen manages to escape and her screams summon Jarrod and Burns, who deal with threat permanently.
- In Kick-Ass 2, The Motherfucker attempts this on Night-Bitch, only to be humiliated when he can't get it up. He settles for having his thugs beat her up instead.
- Kill Bill: When the Bride wakes up from her coma, she immediately pretends to still be asleep when a creepy orderly and his trucker buddy come in the room. She discovers that Buck, the orderly in question, has been pimping out her comatose body as well as taking liberties with it himself — and that her reproductive plumbing has been damaged so that there's no worry about it being discovered. Unfortunately for them, now that the Bride's conscious, even paralyzed from the waist down she promptly brutalizes the trucker and waits next to the door to do the same to Buck.The Bride: Your name is Buck, right? And you came here to fuck, RIGHT?
- In the film The Legend of Billie Jean the attempted rape of the eponymous character (played by Helen Slater of Supergirl fame) at the hands of a pawn shop owner is what sets the plot of the movie rolling.
- Life Blood: Brooke finds Warren James about to rape a woman, and kills him for it. She later admits not everything about her story was accurate however, so it's anyone guess if all this actually happened.
- Listen to Me: Garson assaults Monica near the end of the film, and seems to be intent on rape until she gets away from him.
- Listen to Your Heart: The rich guy whom Victoria tries to set Ariana up with does this when they're in her room alone. She fights him off with a knee in the groin.
- The Love Witch: When Elaine gets attacked in the bar, the men seem intent on rape, since she's held down and some start to undo their pants. Griff rescues her however.
- Malavita:
- One of the henchmen was going to do this to Maggie then kill her before Giovanni intervened.
- It's implied that the French boys taking Belle to the park intended this. The book has their intentions far more obvious and explicit.
- In Massacre at Central High, the Gang of Bullies drag Mary and Jane, whom they believe are lesbians, into an empty classroom for corrective rape. They are interrupted by Theresa, who sits and watches them while they yell at her to go away, and then by David, who beats them up.
- Men in Black II features one of these in the first few minutes of the movie, combined with Mugging the Monster. When Serleena, the film's main villainess, first lands on earth she takes the form of an Victoria's Secret lingerie model. However, the sight of a lingerie-clad woman gets the attention of a nearby mugger who drags her behind a bush with the obvious intent of forcing himself on her. She puts an end to it (and him) by easily overpowering him and swallowing him whole. Then regurgitating him after she doesn't like how fat eating him made her.
- In Mermaid Down, Dr. Beyer tries to cut the mermaid open for access to her "fish parts." She fights him off, with the help of the other patients and Sandra, and drags him out to sea.
- In Moulin Rouge!, the Duke has been pursuing the attentions of courtesan Satine the entire film. On finding out that she really loves Christian and had been leading him on, his already violent possessive nature sees him attack her and forcefully attempt to rape her. She is saved by another worker at the Moulin Rouge.
- One of the first people to die in The Mystery Of Mary Celeste is the crewmember who tries to make captain's wife "his bride". He is foiled by another crewmember who strikes him dead with the captain's sword.
- Freddy keeps getting up close and personal with Nancy throughout the Remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), but it comes to a peak in the climax, where he traps her on a bed and starts feeling her up. Crisis averted when Nancy's friend finally wakes her and they kick the living crap out of him.
- Naked Killer has Kitty's first hit as an amateur assassin, where she tries killing Mr. Bee, the triad informant responsible for her father's death, only to be ambushed with Bee ordering his mooks to restrain her as he unzips his fly. Luckily, Kitty managed to escape by grabbing a nearby letter opener and stabbing the mook holding her, before going for Bee's crotch.
- In The Odd Way Home, a creepy guy from a bar tries to rape Maya by her truck. Duncan fights him off with a dental pick.
- In The Party, a lecherous movie director starts to assault a young ingenue. Bakshi thwarts him by grabbing a kid's air gun and blowing the guy's toupee off - he promptly beats an angry, embarrassed retreat.
- In the crime film Payback (1995), ex-convict Oscar lusts after his former prison guard's wife Rose and he attempts to force himself on her. Rose manages to fight him off but then she smiles and pulls him back in and they end up having sex in the kitchen where her husband almost catches them in the act. Despite his near-rape attempt, Rose actually embarks on a passionate affair with Oscar because he paid attention to her when her husband wouldn't.
- Penelope: The eponymous character (played by Natalie Wood) tells her psychiatrist that her criminal activities began in college when a professor (Jonathan Winters) lured her into his laboratory and attempted to sexually assault her, tearing off her clothes and leaving her in underwear, but she escaped, stealing the watch fob of the professor in the process (we see it all in a flashback, and it's Played for Laughs).
- Polar: Sindy functions as the Honey Trap of the A-Team, but on one occasion her target is a violent sexual abuser who proceeds to beat her before realizing that he was Mugging the Monster when the rest of her colleagues intervene. This incident actually seems to get to her, and she ends up stabbing the man's body long after he's been shot dead.
- The Princess: The princess has two guards sent to rape her in the first scene. She breaks free of her manacles and kills them both, then escapes. Later on she and Linh save a kitchen maid from other mooks clearly meaning to rape her too.
- The Principal: White Zac breaks into his classroom after hours to rape his teacher Ms. Orozco. Rick comes to her rescue by beating up White Zac and turning him over to the police.
- In Psych-Out, a group of thugs try to rape Jenny in the junkyard to see if she really believes in free love. Stoney, Ben, and Elwood fight them off.
- In Quantum Apocalypse, Sean breaks into the Marshall home and tries to rape Lindsey. Lynne comes home just in time and shoots him dead.
- Quantum of Solace: General Medrano's going to do this to some poor hotel waitress before Camille enters the room and proceeds to kick his ass. Considering that in the past the General had also succeeded in raping Camille's sister and mother, it's poetic justice.
- Dominika endures two in Red Sparrow. The first time she's acting as a Honey Trap for a Russian oligarch and goes in expecting to sleep with him as part of the mission, but he forces her down and gets as far as insertion before being garroted from behind by an assassin sent by her handler. The second time occurs in the showers at State School 4 from one of the other SVR cadets, but she beats him senseless with a broken-off faucet handle.
- Reefer Madness: High school drop out Ralph gets good girl Mary high and attempts to rape her, but her boyfriend Bill stops him before he gets very far. This was subverted in Reefer Madness: The Musical when Ralph pulls the same trick, but the reefer turns Mary into a sex-crazed dominatrix whose fascination with pain terrifies him.
- In Resident Evil: Extinction, a group of rednecks use a phony distress signal to lure Alice to them, then ambush her. It is implied they do this regularly to other survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse. They celebrate and try to rape her, but she recovers and snaps one of their necks. They angrily throw her into a pit with zombie dogs, but she escapes and ends up setting the dogs on them.
- A subversion of sorts occurs in Revenge Of The Ninja; a woman is about to be attacked/raped, the titular ninja turns up, eliminates the beefy assailant in about three seconds, then hypnotizes the would-be victim and sends her off on an errand.
- Rhymes for Young Ghouls: Popper attempts to rape Aila near the end.
- In the third Riddick movie, Santana tries to rape Dahl after acting like a lecherous scumbag towards her earlier. She beats him up and paints the room with his blood.
- Riot Girls: Nat is nearly raped by a Titan at their toll booth, but Scratch rescues her, gunning down him and the two others nearby.
- Crossed over with I Have You Now, My Pretty in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, where the Sherrif of Rottingham tries to have his way with Maid Marian... only to be foiled by her chastity belt.
- In one scene in RoboCop (1987), the titular cyborg interrupts an attempted rape. The attacker then tries to use his victim as a human shield, not knowing just how accurate Murphy's gun-targeting systems now are.
- Sands of the Kalahari: In a flash of megalomania, Sturdevant decrees that he is the leader of the survivor group and that Grace is 'his woman' attempts to rape her. It is only when he realises how cold Grace is to his advances does he regain control of himself and break off his attack.
- The Secret (2007): Hannah clearly thinks Ethan, Sam's boyfriend, is doing this when she's suddenly grabbed by him. It turns out they like role-playing (though Hannah isn't happy to learn Sam is having sex) and this was consensual between them. The fact that Hannah's not in on the game however nearly makes it rape for real with her though.
- Seven (1979): The Hermit attempts to rape Alexa when she infiltrates his estate. However, Alexa was expecting this, as her plan for his assassination relied on women being his weakness.
- She Creature: The mermaid turns into a human during the full moon, leaving her weak and helpless. The sailors gang up on her to rape her, despite Lily's pleas for them to stop. Before they can rape her, she transforms into her true form - a giant amphibian creature covered in spikes, with huge claws - and kills all the sailors.
- For an early example, this happens in the Rudolph Valentino silent film The Sheik towards the end of the film when the leading lady is kidnapped by a bandit and the titular sheik must break in and battle the villain to save her. It contrasts her earlier kidnapping by the Valentino character as aside from the kidnapping he behaves pretty courteously for the most part.
- In the German occupation-set Le Silence de la Mer (2004), main protagonist Jeanne is assaulted by her cousin Pascal in her home when she rejects his advances, and he attempts to rip her clothes. Her screams alert Werner, the German officer Jeanne is forced to house who just got out of his car. Werner's presence and a mild Death Glare are enough to make Pascal go away.
- Slugs: Pam manages to fight off the would-be rapist and run away, but ends up slugfood.
- In Snow White & the Huntsman, Finn tries this on Snow White, only for her to stab him with a nail and escape.
- Species: After Sil escapes from the facility where she's captured by a hobo tries to rape her (but she kills him easily).
- Species II: When Patrick becomes controlled by the alien, he goes around impregnating various women with his alien sperm. Most of these encounters are either consensual or sex-for-pay, but he also drags one of his victims out of a supermarket in the middle of the day to rape her in his parked van. He only stops and lets her go when he realizes that there's a female hybrid out there as well after she links to his mind.
- Happens in the first Spider-Man movie. A gang attempts to gang-rape Mary Jane, Spider-Man shows up and kicks their asses, and this leads to the iconic upside down kiss between Spider-Man and Mary Jane.
- Terry Tsurugi in the grindhouse flick The Street Fighter stops a guy trying to rape Sarai Hammet, the woman he's been hired to protect by a Dragon Lady who has since turned against him. And he does it by castrating him with his bare hands. Yeah, it's that kind of movie.
- Christopher Lloyd's character in Suburban Commando saves a woman from an attempted rape by two thugs after finding a high-tech armor belonging to Hulk Hogan's character.
- Supergirl (1984) has the title heroine beat up two truckers who try to rape her (given that she's super strong it doesn't go very well for them).
- In Swashbuckler, set in colonial Jamaica, during a tavern free-for-all between a band of pirates and British soldiers, the heroine Jane Barnett is nearly raped by a drunken soldier, but one sympathetic pirate slips her a dagger with which she kills her would-be assailant.
- Teeth: A rape is quite violently ended by the titular teeth. 'Nuff said.
- In Terminator Salvation, three rednecks attack Blair Williams. She does a good job fighting off the first two before the third one hits her over the head. The trio celebrate and try to rape her before Marcus Wright shows up and kicks their asses. Blair wakes up and shoots one of them in the leg.
- Thelma & Louise: An attempted rape in a nightclub parking lot and what happens to the rapist afterwards starts the crazy roadtrip.
- In Too Soon to Love, Buddy gets into a car with Cathy at a drive-in, forcibly kisses her twice, and is still trying to force himself on her when Jim opens the door and drags him out. The two get in a fistfight, which Jim loses.
- Train: After being knocked unconscious, Alex wakes up Strapped to an Operating Table, with Gregor preparing to rape her. She manages to grab a scalpel from the tray of instruments by the table, and stops him permanently by giving him a Slashed Throat.
- Early on in Training Day, Hoyt stops a rape attempt on a girl while on patrol. This comes back to help him later on when the girl's cousins are about to kill him and then realize he was the one who saved her.
- In Trance, Simon interrupts one happening to Elizabeth by Nate, Franck's associate, with a gunshot to the groin.
- The Trial of the Chicago 7: A number of right-wing thugs assault a female protestor for using the American Flag in the march, tearing off her shirt and clearly intending on far worse, but Jerry Rubin manages to stop them. Rubin is promptly arrested after trying to get said female protestor first aid, and the wannabe-rapists get off scot-free.

- In Universal Soldier: The Return, Luc's partner Maggie is tied to a tree by a Uni Sol named Romeo, who then unbuttons her shirt to see her breasts. Fortunately, Luc comes to the rescue and shoots Romeo, much to Maggie's relief.
- Both the movie and comic book of V for Vendetta have this happening to Evey at the hands of the fascist government's Fingermen, who want to rape and kill her for prostitution/a curfew violation. She's saved by the title character.
- In Watchmen, the Comedian attempts to rape Sally (Silk Spectre) after the first photo shoot of "The Minutemen".
- In Wild Thing, Jane first meets Wild Thing when he rescues her from two men who are trying to rape her in a car.
- In Woman in the Dunes, a man and a woman are being held captive by a village in a desert. They are told they can leave the dunes for one hour a day if they let the villagers watch them have sex. The unnamed woman disagrees but Jumpei tries to get her to do it (or at least pretend to) because it could be his chance to run away. She ends up fighting Jumpei off and they're left to stay where they are.
- In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, during the Vietnam War, Victor Creed drags a villager into a hut clearly intending to rape her. His fellow soldiers order him to stop, but he gets angry and starts killing them. James Howlett/Logan attempts to intervene, but this causes them to be sentenced to the firing squad, exposing their regeneration ability.
