Why in the ever-loving HELL is Penny back?! She serves no purpose to the plot whatsoever.
... She does actually. She\'s one of the most important characters, even. I figured the full Volume wasn\'t up when you posted this.
Ironwood was being kind of an asshole, and the character interactions are better
A year in, and yeah, this is pretty shortsighted.
If you\'re still a fan of this show sure, anything critical of it will look like it\'s not willing to see where things go. But most people like the reviewer were fans for years who did nothing but wait and see, then ended up disappointed by the increasingly worse story. From the reactions I see to season 8, its just the same story with why people gave up after 7, so for my money this reviewer was prophetic.

Volume 7's plot... or rather, the lack of it.
After Volume 6, the mother of all flame wars hit the Internet. I chose to avoid participation and simply swore off the show until Volume 7. I still had a glimmer of hope that Volume 7 would be a good volume, at least - and boy, was I wrong.
My verdict? Hit up Fanfiction.net or AO3. Maybe even some smutfic while you're at it. Me? I'll take a hard pass. Volume 8 ain't looking too great.
