It's actually funny, but...

One of the great problems that Teen Titans Go! seems to carry is that it will forever be compared to the original series. Teen Titans Go seems to perpetually irk the fans who had grown to expect something that was a continuation or an elaboration of that show. But the new version has no such intentions.

Teen Titans Go! runs on sheer Rule of Funny. It works. True, the show cares little for resolution or evolution and at any rate, Status Quo Is God. Things such as an arc, Character Development and any underlying message are relegated waaaay back in favour of pure jokes and fun. Where as the original Teen Titans was an action/adventure show with strong tinges of comedy, Teen Titans Go is just comedy.

Even the animation collaborates in favor of this approach. The style is not even trying to resemble the original series from 2003, and seems to be Off-Model style animation, ditching any tip of the hat towards anime. Whereas the characters may appear "cute" in default mode, they are quite elastic and expressive.

The writing is often lazy and comparing season The other big problem for the show is that with season 4 or 5 can give the impression that you are watching a different premise for the show. Also, Teen Titans Go! seems to be extremely Adored by the Network. As said before, the show is funny but this alone doesn't justify the constant and repeated airings it gets on Cartoon Network plus a movie(!!). Perhaps it is a successful show despite the ill will it has acquired but the constant push it gest from the channel sure earns the show very little friends. The constant Take Thats on the fans is another problems that obviously hinders the show.

In the end, Teen Titans Go might be better appreciated by those who haven't seen or haven't grown attached to the previous series.
