How about Frivolous Lawsuit?
Working on cleaning up List of Shows That Need SummaryThe Character Tic entry seems wrong. Max clearly ducks her head in pain when you rewind the maximum amount, which is probably related to the whole Psychic Nosebleed thing.
Edited by scify Hide / Show RepliesDoes playing a female character and having a half female supporting cast which has 'as much prominence as the males' really make the game a feminist fantasy...?
S Lang In the totally radical section it mentions "bum" (to describe a persons butt) being out of place. I dont know hos used it still is but as someone from the pacific northwest that term was used quite a bit in that way when i was in high-school. Granted I graduated before the game takes place
The Monkey Flys at Midnight and the Crow Dies at DawnI removed the following:
- Artistic Licence – Astronomy: A full moon would be impossible right after an eclipse. The eclipse itself is also impossible, since they don't just happen out of nowhere, but that one is lampshaded when Max talks to Mrs. Grant in Episode 4.
"When my friends at NASA tell me they can't explain a solar eclipse, without a single theory as to how or why? Maybe it's time to get worried."
Becauese the game itself (as pointed out by that very quote) acknowledges that this is physically impossible, which is the point. Something so strange is going on that it's messing with the laws of reality
I don't think Chloe seems to get gun control, she breaks the first few tenants of using a gun properly when she handles one at record speed; brandishing one in another persons face at speed, finger on the trigger, reckless aiming and target practice, does that fall under the "reckless gun usage" trope?
aight who the fuck broke the "spoiler default" optionOkay, I have no intention of starting a flame war, but as far as I'm concerned, laying down on an active railway line is definitely Too Dumb to Live. Balance-beaming on the tracks is a stupid kid thing - but you can argue that there is relatively easy to jump out of the way of an oncoming train with that. But lying down on the tracks? Seriously? Why the hell would you?
At the very least, an oncoming engineer would be obligated to put his train into full break mode if he saw a couple of people laying on the tracks ahead of him, which would present a major delay to the train's schedule and perhaps to the trains behind it, too. Those things are not easy to stop and they are not easy to get going again, either. Not to mention the near heart attack you'd give the poor guy.
And despite what my dectractor(s) might think the possibility of a switching point snapping on somebody's leg is entirely likely. It's the nature of railways - they can be remotely switched at any time! The reason being is that they aren't designed to be used as couches by regular pedestrians!
Hide / Show RepliesSeems like this would be suited for What An Idiot on YMMV, I think.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI agree. The only reason it doesn't really constitute Too Dumb to Live is that Too Dumb to Live is a Death Trope, and needs to involve a character's death being caused by their own stupidity.
Does Nathan Prescott pulling a gun on Chloe in the bathroom really constitute a spoiler? It's basically the first thing that happens in the first episode of a five episode series, and while some mentions have been spoiler-tagged on the page, others have not. I think we should work out whether or not it's a spoiler and then adjust the tags accordingly.
I think that we should create a Crowning Moment of Awesome page for LIS. I mean, surely Max saving Kate counts? Or the numerous times she saves Chloe? Or the way that she gets Victoria back? Or the fact that she apologizes and is the better person?
I'd create it myself but I'm a n00b at this stuff.

I've got it up and running now - although there were a few moments there when I broke the page.
The Hollywood law example is wrong, threatening lawsuits without merit as a way to force compliant is an actual tactic. It's based convincing the opposing party that either the value proposition that simply fighting it will cost more then giving in or the lawsuit will ruin you.
There is in fact an entire industry based on this tactic colloquially called copyright trolling.
Needs to be turned into a new entry.
