Yeah, I was wondering where was the crowner and why was this renamed out of nowhere? I just checked this article about 3 days ago and now it suddenly has another much less catchy, worse name.
How exactly would that motivate them to change the title? It's not like the meaning is any different. The title is just worse now.
I think I saw something about it being because of trope misuse, with people using the trope as a catch-all for any creator who died when it was specifically meant for creators who died while a work was still in progress.
Until next time...

Damn this is why we can’t have creative trope names with flourish.
I got my political views from reddit and that's badThis is a pretty dumb name compared to the original one. Same thing they did with the "too bleak stopped caring" nonsense.
Author Existence Failure has a nice ring to it, so does Died During Production. The problem was that it wasn't clear enough, and therefore, was misused as "Creator or Actor dies". Remember, it's Clear > Consise > Witty, not Clear = Consise = Witty. A clear name is the first priority.
Come play Character Uplift Game!I am a bit confused about one point. What if the person has not died but, for example, had a critical health issues that caused the project to end in the middle of the production? Is there a trope for it or it can be added here?
Just that I remebered one explicit case recenly. One metal band was recording their third album, but the vocalist (who was also band leaders wife) fell terminally ill and later lost her voice because of it. The band stopped the album production and disbanded.
Where this fits to?
Edited by NachtwandlerThat would be best discussed at Trope Finder.
Come play Character Uplift Game! There's an entry that says that Marshall Rogers died while producing "Cap'N Quick & A Foozle." It's not true, he died in 2007. I'll remove the entry.
Why did this get renamed from "Author Existence Failure"?
