I want to address an elephant in the room:
Whoever separated the character pages into "Main Continuity" jumped the gun. I've felt that way since the beginning, but after how Dark Fate performed in the box office, I think it's something we definitely need to address.
To be blunt, we need to separate the characters into movie of introduction. "Continuity" can change at the whims of the creators. What happens if the next film comes out and declares every movie except T1 and T2 non-canon again? We shouldn't be categorizing pages in ways that become outdated the moment some in-universe rules change.
Hide / Show RepliesI agree. For one thing, every single Terminator movie has pulled the exact same trick of declaring the rest non-canon! The page is better off neutral with regards to "true" continuity. It should index characters by introduction.
Besides, in a franchise with time travel and alternate universes, declaring a hard-and-fast canon is absurd, and mixes marketing-related statements ("You don't have to watch the other three movies to get this one!") with continuity.
Exactly. I'd like a few others to get onboard before we take action, but well said.
Should Marcus Wright go under Humans or Machines? Also, is it just an oversight that he's not here at all, even though a bunch of characters from T4 are?
Edited by illegalcheese Hide / Show RepliesAll Terminator Salvation characters go under the Terminator Salvation Characters page.
The Fight Continues! The following was removed
- Straw Feminist: Her borderline Narm speech of "Fucking men like you created the hydrogen bomb" comes to mind.
The reason given was "not really a strawman".
A Straw Feminist character is a man-hating/female-empowering character who is set up strictly to allow them to be shown as "wrong" or easily-defeated by another party. Sarah in this case definitely counts, as this was the first and only time she has demonstrated any man-hating or male-critical viewpoints, and is immediately silenced by her son in a scene meant to demonstrate that he's taking the reins of control.
Edited by KingZeal Hide / Show RepliesI don't remember the specific scene but I'd be surprised to see Straw-Anything applying to Sarah Connor since she's generally shown as right. But I defer to you since I don't remember the scene in question.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. It's the scene after Arnold-bot rips the flesh off his arm and tells Myles Dyson about the future.
The original script had her go even MORE man-hating, and John's response was "I don't see how this is a gender-related issue".
EDIT: Also worth noting that Sarah is usually shown as right except in scenes with John. For example, the scene where she admonishes him for rescuing her, the one when she tries to destroy the Terminator's chip, and her attempt on Miles Dysons' life. By Word of God, Sarah is a demonstration of how humanity becomes self-destructive while John devises a better solution.

So definitely an example, agreed. That said, I feel like it should go on the TF 2 page rather than her character sheet if it's just referring to once instance where she was made a Straw Feminist rather than an actual recurring character trait.

EDIT: Aaaaand whaddaya know? It's already there.

Should Skynet have it's own character page? Not being a hard-core fan, I think it would be necessary for Skynet, being Big Bad and Overarching Villain, to have its own separate character page as it is listed on almost every movie's character index with pretty much the same tropes recurring over and over again (it being Ax-Crazy, the Big Bad, AI Is A Crap Shoot, etc). Thus to prevent redundancy and the fact that it is such a big character it may be necessary to create a separate Skynet character page. Thoughts?
