Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.

- • Reports of problems with wiki articles, or requests for help with wiki articles.

Ask the Tropers:
openCan we recreate the The Doghouse Diaries page? Webcomic
It says that the The Doghouse Diaries page was reduced to a stub and thus cut after all zero context examples were commented out. If that's accurate, then why is there no edit history for the page? Is the history deleted when its page is cut?
And is it okay to recreate the page? It's the image source for at least 3 tropes, and has a decent number of links. It shouldn't be too hard to write a description, read some or all of the comic, and add descriptive examples of tropes therein (and yes, I am willing to do so).
openHow do I find Tropes for obscure media, NSFW, etc...? Webcomic
I'm new to these forums, so forgive me if this isn't the best place for it, but how do you find any kind of Tropes related to a specific webcomic I've been reading? I'm really inspired by like 1 or 2 characters in the story and want to create my own character based on the one in the wbecomic.
Unfortunately, I can't really seem to find any pages related to the comic, and on top of that the comic happens to be NSFW. The webcomic is called "Arcana Tales" and it's by powfooo. The character that I'm really inspired by is Kit, the mischievous furry. I can't place why I have an interest towards the guy, he does seem annoying at first. That's why I want to know, so I can continue developing my original character...
An idea I have in mind is to find people who are willing to find these Tropes for me, but I have no where to even start. Help is much appreciated!
openPage/work name query - what counts as part of the name? Webcomic
Do we have a cleanup thread for work name queries? I don't think I've seen one, so posting this here as a first step...
Marvel Comics has two lines of paywalled webcomics - Infinity Comics is the current one (optimised for reading on phones), Infinite Comics was the previous imprint.
- All of these webcomics add the imprint as a suffix and part of the title whenever it's mentioned on Marvel's apps and website - e.g. Alligator Loki Infinity Comic.
- Covers don't do this, and only mention the imprint in a corner box (as seen on the Alligator Loki page image).
- Reprints of the story in other formats (e.g. Webcomic Print Collection) drop the suffix entirely.
At the moment, our work pages for these webcomics don't treat the suffix as part of the official title, so it's not included in the work page names.
Over on the cleanup thread, the question's been asked as to whether we need to treat this as part of the title for page names etc.
Do we need to move them, or create redirects, to reflect this?
openHow do I follow pages? Webcomic
I want to follow the Stupid Short Eevee Comic page, how do I do that?
openWorking on the Stupid Short Eevee Comic page Webcomic
Hi! I'm Cheese Nick! I'm new here. I recently got approved to edit, I recently found that my favorite webcomic "Stupid Short Eevee Comic" had a Tv Tropes page! I showed it to Scruffyeevee through Comic Fury, I asked her if I could add more pages/tropes, she gave me her permission to do so. Am I allowed to work on it, or do I need permission since the page isn't mine? I'm new here.
openHow do I make a new pages for a comic? Webcomic
I want to know because I’m making one for my own comic and I’ve looked online everywhere for a video but I can’t find anything, can someone help me or give some advice?
open Mistakenly cutlisted page Webcomic
Please don't cut Webcomic.Trash Talk. I accidentally added it to the cut list when trying to cutlist the page with the space in the URL https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Webcomic.Trash%20Talk (which can't be edited anymore but still has a history).
openAdding Awesome moment to Hero Killer Webcomic Webcomic
Due to the Webcomic having the same name as a commonly used trope, i'm unsure how to add the Awesome Moments subpage for it without possibly messing things up. Help would be appreciated.
openWeblinks and paywalls - Dilbert Webcomic
After creator Scott Adams' recent Role-Ending Misdemeanor lost Dilbert's syndication, he relaunched the website and (as I understand it) put all of the older strips behind a paywall.
Understandably, that broke our links to them in many examples.
(Not that any of the examples should actually need them for context, as links are not examples)
Natsirtthe Man has been working through the Dilbert pages and replacing the dead links with web.archive.org links that pull the old strips without hitting the paywall, sort-of circumventing it.
Do we have any concerns about that approach, given that they're now supposed to be members only? Technically, anyone could find them this way without us, but it does feel as if it might break the spirit, if not the letter, of the rules?
Edit: although having checked his site, I have no idea what's actually going on right now. Looks like the approach is changing again. Even so, would be interested in a steer on this.

openTitan Tuesday by Phillip M. Jackson Webcomic
This is a series that Mr. Jackson has been working on for a while. It's on his Twitter, Deviant Art, and Fur Affinity, and it seems to be getting popular. I couldn't help but notice there isn't a page for it, and I wondered if that should change. Should there be a TV Tropes page for it?
open marvel vs dc Webcomic
Ah, the eternal debate: Marvel or DC? While both comic book giants have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, one thing is for sure - they both love their spandex.
From Superman's iconic red and blue suit to Spider-Man's red and blue suit (are we sensing a pattern here?), superhero costumes are an integral part of the comic book universe. But who wears it better? Marvel or DC?

Edited by TwiddleropenCan I add this Fan Webcomic or no? Webcomic
Hi, can I add this (Fan Webcomic series) onto the Fan Webcomic Index for Danganronpa? Does this breach content policy guidelines regarding fetish fuel or no? Just making sure if it is or isn't OK.
resolved Creator/MoringMark Page Getting Too Long Webcomic
The Creator Page for MoringMark is getting too long now, and needs to be split up into pages. Problem is, most of the things troped on the page relate to the various fancomics for Gravity Falls, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, and The Owl House, and while some of them do have specific names or series to them, those ones already have their own pages, with the ones on the creator page itself referring to various miscellaneous comics that, while stand alone, are largely connected in a sort of narrative that isn't definitively named.
So, how exactly should the page be split up, what namespaces should be used, should all of the series get their own pages or should only the largest one, The Owl House, get one, etc.
Edited by RebelFalconresolved Correctly Inputting A Work Webcomic
I'm adding an entry to https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/BecomingTheMask/FanWorks and am reading how to edit, but I am still have trouble grasping the linking and spoiler codes. Also, do fan work comics go under Fan Works or Web Comics?
Here is the current text, spoilers ahead.

openWhat tropes fo I keep on the main page, and what tropes do I move to a recap page? Webcomic
So I’m in the middle of making a recap page for a webcomic and there’s tons of tropes in the main page of the work. Each chapter has its own recap page detailing what happens in the plot.
Then it got me thinking, if some tropes are only specific to one chapter, should I include that trope in both the recap subpage AND the main page? Or do I just leave it on the recap subpage and remove it from the main page?
I've been working on the The Dungeon Cleaning Life Of A Once Genius Hunter page by picking it up directly from its link in the Webtoon page. Though, originaly this work was a webnovel so it should be in the Litterature category, but I can't figure out how to change the page category or make a new appropriate page, move the page code and then make this page transfer to the appropriate Litterature page (I hope I worded that in a way that made sense). I looked aroud in threads a bit and apparently it's only something mods can do? In any case, I'm lost and I've read to turn to mods in this situation so here I am. What can I do to fix it?
