Can be part of Dressed Like a Dominatrix- the idea when used this way being to evoke fishnet stockings while also using the Spy Catsuit look.

He's referring specifically to characters like Anko from Naruto who wear wire mesh accessories.

A non-ninja example would be Vince from The Fast And The Furious who wears the same mesh sleeves.

Yes. I am aware.

Anko would be a downplayed example in that her outfit is not quite Stripperiffic, but it's definitely in the realm of Form-Fitting Wardrobe designed to highlight her figure, and the fishnet pattern invokes the previously mentioned trope.

A search for Vince turns up a distinct lack of sleeves in pretty much every image. There were a few with a fishnet sleeveless shirt- if that's what you're talking about, it'd also be Form-Fitting Wardrobe overlapping with Sleeves Are For Wimps.

Both of these characters aren't trying to be stripperific though. It's a very specific clothing choice.

It'd be like putting Sarashi under Form-Fitting Wardrobe even though it's a very specific thing.

We have two examples and there's probably way more. I think this is a unique enough design choice to be seperate from what you mentioned.

Doug in 50 First Dates also only wears mesh shirts, specifically to look cool. So really could propose a "mesh is just cooler" trope.

"Specific clothing" pages are actually slowly being overhauled because of the issue here; "X wears Y" isn't a trope. Sarashi is one such problem page, and could probably be reduced to a definition only page- flipping through I see about three that have more context than "Bob wears one".

Fishnets as part of fighting armour have a long history. See Retarius on the other wiki.
