Some just decide when something should be spoilers off. If your article has many spoiler tags, you should untag them and post a notice at the top.

It all depends on the case.

If I'm not mistaken, character pages can be designated as spoilers-off, but I don't think it's a sitewide rule, unlike how Moments pages are always spoilers-off.

Edit: Ninja'd.

I had a similar bit of confusion when I discovered that Characters.House Of Anubis had been designated Spoilers-Off, but I didn't question it too much- it is a spoiler-heavy show, so it's better to not worry about spoilers than to have everything tagged.

I changed it from "Character pages" to "This character page".

^ Good call. :-)

Yep, character sheets are usually full of spoilers. Massively.

Not only are some characters walking spoilers, but if a show is running for some time, everything is potentially a spoiler. They are new characters, promotions, romantic resolutions, twist tropes, death tropes, face-heel turns... Sometimes it's really better to say the page is spoilers off and let the readers decide for themselves if they want to proceed.

That said, for series that are still running, it's common courtesy to spoiler-tag example context for tropes from the current season and especially from recent episodes. (Trope titles are never hidden, though.)

Just to answer the OP, a discussion was made here about making character pages spoilers-off: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=77979&type=att

^ To save time, neither of those discussions resulted in all character sheets becoming Spoilers Off. The current policy is to go work-by-work.

Claims of Spoilers Off via an unexplained "wiki policy" are a bit too common (and usually quickly reverted,) but the default state of a Characters/ page if there is no disclaimer is spoiler tags allowed.
