Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Cross Wicking says that both the trope page and the work page should say the same thing.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.^ The entire example doesn't need to be crosswicked verbatim, of course.
Nonetheless, it's rather stupid that the very work we're using as an example is a ZCE on its actual page. There's no problem with "plagiarizing" from ourselves, so you can go ahead and make the edit if you want to.
Devils Advocate, but... what would proper context look like for this trope (or any title trope)?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOP's post mentions that the page itself specifically says how to provide context: basically give a reason why this single word was chosen to represent an entire work.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. While I, personally, copy the examples verbatim, it is correct to state that making them identical is not required. However, Cross Wicking does require that substantially similar edits are required. Whoever commented out the example on Friends.Tropes K To O should've done the same thing on OneWordTitle.Live Action TV, and context needs to be provided to both pages, not just one. Adding a second-level bullet to one page needs to be followed by adding a substantially similar example to the other page.
All of this was besides the issue of... OWT has a guide on how to give actual content to entries, but the page is nothing but zero content. What should be done to fix this?
It's not much, but I'll add context to the ones I can add context for. Some of them I've even added myself, which makes me feel dirty, lol...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^^ While we're on the topic of crosswicking, I should probably point out that it isn't a requirement to do it to 100% of tropes, especially when common tropes or adaptations/fan works are involved. (We don't need to have twenty The Hero entries for twenty versions of Spider-Man.) Still, if you're not crosswicking, you should have a reason (apart from laziness/apathy) to not do it.
Returning to the ZCE problem: Protagonist Title, being a title trope, probably isn't the best one to use for an example, but "The work is named for Character X, who is the protagonist" should be sufficient. It allows a casual reader to be able to make a reasonably good guess at what the trope is and how it applies to the work.
Should we just take this to the ZCE thread?
Edited by RallyBot2^ I wasn't a newbie, that's the thing. :P
For the crosswicking thing, the lack of such crosswicking is a big epidemic I'd like to fix, but unfortunately it's so time-consuming and draining... but yeah.
As for this, sure, take it to the thread.

Here's a weird question. So I noticed that on the Friends tropes K to O, One-Word Title is a zero content entry. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Friends/TropesKToO However on the main page of One-Word Title where it gives use a handy guide on how to give actual content to entries, it uses Friends as an example. So I was wondering could I use that example for the One-Word Title entry on the Friends K to O page or would that be cheating? Also the entirety of the One-Word Title page is nothing but zero content is there a cleanup thread?
