There seems to be kerfuffle/meme/troll going on in some circles regarding Nessa's depiction in fanart. It brought to mind a small tempest regarding depictions of certain characters in Steven Universe a while back, though I only heard of both that and this recent Nessa thing in passing.
If they change it back, let us know. Also, be sure to message them.

^^ Long story short, Japanese artists don't like being told how to depict Nessa so they're rebelling in what they view as Political Correctness Gone Mad.
But that's a matter for elsewhere and not here as per RoCEJ. TV Tropes should only use the official media posted on pokemon.com or other official The Pokemon Company social media pages if possible.
Irregardless of anything else, there's the issue of Image Pickin, since I can't call that second pic a quality improvement. Though if there is an agenda involved, the person posting it may disagree.
On an unrelated note, Milo makes me think Bugsy got jacked...

Speaking of Nessa's folder, one of the entries listed is Ensemble Dark Horse, which is YMMV. Whoever put the entry there used the "invoked" markup to ensure the YMMV icon doesn't appear, but the entry itself doesn't really say how it's invoked in-game.
^ She can't be an Ensemble Dark Horse. Gym leaders are too major to the game.
^ That's misusing the invoked tag. No objections to pulling in this case.

I'd disagree that Gym Leaders are "too major to the game". Most of the time, they are important only at one point and typically forgotten about after getting defeated. They are either secondary at best or episodic at worst.
