Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
It's problematic in that it's never been resolved (neither has the fact that, colloquially, "famous last words" is frequently used in a manner lampshading someone Tempting Fate), but not problematic as no one but me seems to actually care.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Well, since the wiki seems to be in major abuse cleanup mode, maybe now they will.
Optimism is a duty.I mean, the trope description doesn't actually specify that the last words are famous or iconic. It's not quite "the last thing someone says before they die, regardless of circumstances", but the description isn't super clear about what circumstances make last words interesting enough to record.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Perhaps a TRS thread might be needed?
There's also FamousLastWords.Detroit Become Human, which lists every single possible way every character can die.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is also a big one that has issues relating to that they're just quotes before characters die.
IMO the ones that should stay for Phantom Blood are Will Zeppeli and Jonathan's quotes.
"Famous Last Words" is an old Stock Phrase, yeah. It doesn't actually mean the words themselves are famous, just that they sound like they could be — they're pithy or witty or accidentally ironic or whatever. Which is fairly broad which is as it should be, but I don't think that listing every single possible quote is really worthwhile.
Edited by UnsungI will open a TRS thread and see how it goes, then.
Optimism is a duty.
The page on Goldfinger has four examples of Famous Last Words, which just seem to be literally their last words. They don't seem all that famous or iconic to me.
I also see that this trope has been brought up several times before as problematic because of this very reason. Is it still problematic?
