Looking through the history, nearly all of the negative quotes seem to have been added by someone named Prinzenick.

While I think Bluth is overrated myself, this looks pretty obviously like a troper with an axe to grind.

Said troper also has been all over the Sequelitis section for Disney movies.

The quotes from Bluth are as criticizing of Disney as the other ones are criticizing of Bluth.

Alright, so Prizenick replied to my discussion question, saying that Bluth is one of the most hated people in the animation community, on par with John Kricfalusi, which I have a hard time believing. (Especially since, as far as we know, he's not a rapist and pedophile like Kricfalusi is.)

On Quotes.John Kricfalusi and Quotes.Ralph Bakshi, there's only one negative quote about them on each page (the latter of which I added), which makes me wonder if Prizenick just has a negative bias against Bluth.

First time hearing Bluth is hated. I thought everyone had pity for him.

Bluth's portfolio is admittedly all over the place (he's had his hand in some less-than-stellar films), but I find it seriously hard to believe that he's a hated figure at all. This reeks of agenda-based editing.

It’s not that he’s hated. It’s that his views are considered to be hostile, or outdated, or both. This causes people to be wary of him.

He has a severe hatred of digital media and 3D animation, is a Reclusive Creator, and isn’t exactly easy to work with. People admire his talent, but dislike his hyper-strong opinions and demeanor.

"He has a severe hatred of digital media and 3D animation"

Not entirely true. He said in his interview with Doug Walker that he liked Up, Tangled, and Finding Nemo. (He wasn't a huge fan of Inside Out, but that was more due to the idea of a universe without free will than it being 3D-animated.)

Uh, no. This guy just has an ax to grind.

Don Bluth may have gotten some flack in his later career for quality decline and starting to produce really sub-par, D 2 DVD quality films like A Troll in Centrel Park and Rock-a-Doodle-Do but he's still a legend and one of the most respected people in the industry.

His early stuff like The Secret of NIHM, An American Tail, All Dogs to to Heaven, A Land Before Time, Anastasia, and his work as the animation director on Dragon's Lair are some of the most highly praised animated works from the Renaissance Age.

Comparing him to a one-hit-wonder with an attitude problem like John K is just pure ignorance.

Negative quotes should be removed as complaining. The Quotes.Disney Live Action Remakes page was completely negative so it was outright cut.

CryptidProductions Since: Mar, 2019

Agreed.

The page as it stands clearly has an agenda to paint him in a bad light (a lot of really negative quotes from him to make him sound like an asshole mixed with complaints from people that had beef with him) with it's contents.

The fact it quotes John K when he's known for being a narcissistic ass that hates everything past the Golden Age shows it's bias.

I don't think we need that many, that's for sure. He might have burnt a few bridges in the '90s, though I think there's a lot of he said-they said to it all, and maybe we don't really have enough information to weigh in on the controversy.

Cryptid Productions: Sorry to nitpick, but the title is just "Rock-A-Doodle". No "do" at the end.

Also, I firmly believe that Rock-A-Doodle is far too weird a movie to call good or bad. Rock-A-Doodle is not a good movie, nor is it a bad movie. It merely... is.

I mean, some of the quotes don't even refer directly to Bluth's work. Some are just vague insults of the person.

I would argue that we need some negative quotes, but we need a source and a important person opinions (so not any simple animator whose source I can't know for sure)

Why do we need negative quotes? This is a wiki for enjoying things, not complaining about them.

Gushing is also against the rules outside of the gushing pages on the Sugar Wiki so there has to be an honest balance.

Which this page doesn't have. It's all bashing, some of which is personal attacks and he-said-she-said bickering from petty fights other industry people had with him. Especially John K because it's well documented he basically hated everyone that didn't continue to make throwback golden age animation.

I mean, yeah.

John K is a piece of shit and even before his criminal behavior with underage girls came out he was a pariah for being a complete ass with a destructive ego. That's kind of my point about it not being kosher quoting criticisms of other industry professionals from him.

I like the page post clean-up because the NC quote is completely honest in describing him as a legend that faced quality decline in the later part of his career.

It's got my approval in it's current state.
