Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
If there's no cut reason, it just wasn't a trope. I think someone just wicked it thinking it was Treasure Map or something.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Actually, I think I do have very vague memories of it being a trope. It may have been cut before the system was changed to show cut reasons on the page.
Archive.org doesn't show any actual content at that page ever. Just the old "create a page" text and the current disambig text.
X Marks The Spot was proposed as a trope on TLP (then known as YKTTW) in May 2011.
It's still there, and was apparently never launched.
Edited by Arivne^I see that it's been posted in this year. The current name violates No New Stock Phrases (as someone mentioned in the thread), which wasn't in effect until a bit after it was initially proposed, and some of the examples listed aren't actually examples, but references to the phrase.
As for why it has wicks without being launched, it's probably due to a combination of people thinking it was an existing trope name and the existence of Film.X Marks The Spot making links to Main.X Marks The Spot appear blue until the 1.8 update.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
Was "X" Marks the Spot a trope page that was cut? There's no cut reason, but there's a few works linking to it as a trope. (I'll clean them shortly, just wondering.)
