Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I didn't add the quote before it was cut but I thought just in case to go here and ask just in case.
Don't know the work, but going by what you said on the discussion page, I take it the line you are disputing is from Avengers: Endgame. That film has eight entries remaining on the page after the deletion.
Signature Line is defined as: "When the general public thinks of the work, this is the one quote that immediately springs to mind". Okay, tropes are somewhat flexible and a well-known work may have more than one signature line, but eight is definitely too many. I don't know if Signature Line has a dedicated clean-up thread, but I'd support starting one if not.
I would say that that is a good take, I guess I just love that quote so much and I took from the line right before the definition you put which was "a Signature Line is a quote of dialogue that everyone remembers from a work of fiction, and has become synonymous with it." I do think that any fan of the franchise would look at "Let me go. It's OK." as up there for Avengers: Endgame when thinking of lines like that. I won't put it down just saying that's my take. Your right 8 is too many.
Off the top of my head I didn't even remember that line personally. The scene itself is memorable, but not the exact quote. In fact a lot of the quotes kept there are ones that didn't come to mind for me.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI agree with War Jay. I would support keeping this to only a handful per film.
Ooof, yeah. Those were way too numerous, and a lot of them weren't signature enough. I've seen all of those movies and I cannot remember a bunch of those lines. And a lot of them I do remember I know aren't signature lines.
v To some extent I agree, but when there's so much blatant overuse some cleanup should happen sooner rather than later. It's not like cleanup threads even for very high-visibility items get much movement. I've been trying to get some cleanup on ridiculous Ensemble Dark Horse misuse done and I can barely get a response when I'm cross posting in four different places across this wiki.

Hop on over to this page and add them.As I said in a different query, I think this is something that should be the subject of a cleanup thread. Deciding which quotes should stay or go should be the overall opinion of a group, not one editor acting unilaterally.
Just want to say that I agree with this now and I made a lot of cuts, No Way Home in particular had way too many.

On the SignatureLine.Live Action Film on January 8th there were a bunch of cuts to examples for both the MCU and the Raimi trilogy. I thought they were in general good ones as the stated reason of them being less unique if there are too many was good. but I disagreed on cutting Natasha's last words, I did think it fit the trope and I posted on the Discussion page for that trope about a week ago but haven't gotten any responses. So I decided to go here.
