If you hadn't made this, I might've ended up doing it for the exact same reasons.

I actually remember having concerns about them earlier after some posts in the Writer's Block forum, but I'm not sure I'll be able to find them again without some serious digging.

...he stated he wanted to hurt himself over the opinions of these critics...

I say this as someone who has mental illness, but they cannot be online doing this here. Random internet users are not equipped to deal with this behavior, nor should they be. This person either a) needs help, in which case they need to log off and get some or b) is trolling, in which case they're a POS who needs to not do that shit here.

I believe I remember someone with this description being talked about in ATT before, but I'm not sure. They had the exact same issues as the OP stated, though.

EDIT: I found the query in question, and I believe this is the user mentioned. However the case may be, I hope they get the help they need. (I'm just trying to see the best possible outcome, however unrealistic it sounds)

^ Thanks, I'll add that to the main post. Also I either wasn't aware or didn't noticed he visited Writer's Block, so that's quite crucial.

The hollers by themselves weren't actionable on their own so I was just monitoring the situation.

The self harm post was concerning but I never saw it so I assumed it was never hollered or it happened before I became a mod.

I haven't P Med them (yet) and don't really know what to say to them honestly. Right now, I am not seeing anything in their recent posts that requires further action or thumps.

Should we still be hollering? A few recent posts about the Plinkett reviews go back to the same sort of overly-cynical and unsettling attitude...

We're currently discussing this, but I'd like to point out that while threatening self-harm is a suspendable offense, nobody has provided evidence that they have made such a post, so no suspension has been issued for it.

I noticed a Writer's Block post by Chico referred to "my low self-esteem", but that is hardly proof of anything, either.

Is the South Park George Lucas scene the one that's a graphic rape scene? Yeah that's... concerning to talk about unprompted constantly, if true.

Personally, I don't think being openly insecure is a major issue in terms of wiki discussions, unless it's derailing or graphic venting (I recall one user who basically kept using the forums to vent about their obsessive feelings regarding villains but this isn't at that level IMO), especially if this is restricted to forums. I think a PM reaching out with concern would probably be a more beneficial first step.

I don't think anything needs to be done here, because I couldn't find any self-harm-related posts.

During the discussion I mentioned earlier, I mentioned possibly locking this thread if nothing worth taking action over came up, and since that ended up being the case, I'm going to lock this. Sending PMs sounds like a good idea for now, and holler if necessary.
