Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

Officially intimidated
Some of you may have noticed that my activity on TV Tropes (forum & wiki) has been much lower these weeks. There's an beyond-my-will reason for this:
Not only has the Internet service gotten more expensive in Venezuela, it has worsened beyond belief. I may be able to edit an article or two in the near future, but otherwise I'll have to be in another country in order to be able to have a more vigorous participation here. If things go well, I will move to Colombia sometime during August, and I really hope I manage to, because life in Venezuela has reached inhuman conditions. Certainly, not good enough for me to have a reliable connection that allows me to edit or post without having to repeatedly press that damned "Save" or "Post" button to avoid the Data Vampires to take away my contribution.

That's because I have a lot of personal issues to deal with & I don't think it's healthy for me to be on this site as much as I used to be. For that reason, I'm taking an indefinite break from TV Tropes. I'll try to pop back in once in a while, but right now I need time to focus on myself.

Sorry for any possible necroing, but I wanted to say that I've returned from an accidental hiatus. The past few years have been really bad for me mentally, but things seem to be getting better.

So, on Friday, I will be spending Spring Break with my hippie grandparents in California. Their place has less reliable internet than here, so I will post considerably less.

A part of me dies every time I read the bad news from the COVID-19 thread, a bigger part of me dies when I receive an unnecessarily defensive response from tropers who cannot stand receiving Issue Helpers, and overall I need some distraction in order to better cope with the social distancing. It does. I recommend a week.
My typical breaks go on the first week of January and on pre-Easter/Holy Week.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.
Not sure if you can do more than one summon in a post.
Also you can search for posts by troper in the search box at the top of many forum pages.
I know AHR is still very active on Tumblr. Looks like they last posted here in March.
(can't recall their relationship with gender other than enjoying the Viewer Gender Confusion)
I don't know 32_Footsteps, but they last posted in July.

Huh, I deal with YF so little that I didn't know this existed until it was brought to my attention.
I'm alive and as well as one can be these days, and, last I checked, I'm still in good standing on this wiki. However, I'm also very busy with various Real Life responsibilities at the moment. The day will come when I simply start posting again, as well as more consistent editing, but I don't know when that will be.
