Some awful comics do improve over time, I just don't feel like searching through years of crap to get to the good stuff.

Weird. I'll download the pictures and upload them in the Tv Tropes server, then. I won't rest until everybody sees Jamin Jooce's awesome artwork.

EDIT: Here they are.

Wow. I actually liked today's strip. (Not linking it because I don't know how to make a permanent link to a strip that hasn't been archived yet.)

You know it's bad when a parody probably made by two guys has better animation than your animated series made by an entire studio.

Whats sad is the Studio did a pretty good job in other works so that means Buckley did that deliberately. As a deliberate stylistic decision.

Well he's talking about WWII when the Chinese bomb pearl harbor and they commuted suicide by running their planes into the ship.

CAD is a case of Never Live It Down. Ever since Buckley got a reputation as a lazy copy&paste artist people have been calling him a shitty artist.

He's not shitty, when he actually tries you can see that. And to his credit he is now trying (He properly shades and draws the backround).

Speaking of expressions, the girl's on this one reminds me a bit of Queen Of Wands...

Hmm... The Ministry of Truth strikes again. I guess someone didn't appreciate the silent black guy joke.

I love how Buckley gave Zeke a black disguise just so he could make a racist joke out of it.

Yeah, there was a huge twitter explosion when he uploaded the version with the very-racist joke at the end. It was crazy, but at least he had the sense to change it to something less offensive.

What was the original joke?

EDIT: Never mind, found the link in the comments. How could he ever think that wasn't offensive?

Still, you know, apologising and posting a link to the original comic hardly counts as Orwellian Editor. That would be changing the comic and then say: "Racist joke? What racist joke? Sorry, you must have dreamt that."

I didn't know black people talking during a movie was a stereotype.

The original joke would've just raised my eyebrow than offend.

Frankly I find it even more hilarious that the only black person to have appeared prominently in the comic is not a real person, and they're not allowed to talk.

This is Tim Buckley. He's made racist jokes before and has the writing ability of a retarded cabbage - I'm not saying he made the comparison deliberately, I'm saying in his idiocy and determination to be edgy he's accidentally made a bigger ass out of himself with the implications.

I've given up. I'm not making any more attempts to read this comic, even if it does appear to get better. It's faked me out too many times before, and I don't think the author will ever solve the basic problems with Ethan's characterization that make him an uninteresting and unlikeable main character.

In response to the original topic of this thread: I always found CAD average. The art doesn't bug me so long as it doesn't get in the way of the jokes or storytelling. Since it seems that the comic has only improved at a visual level, I see that for me it would remain average even if I did continue reading it.

I find it weird that completely sensible people are so art-focused when it comes to this particular comic, even if they can forgive "bad" art when it comes to other comics.
