Is that how it went?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Apparently so.
Then Quatre gave the thing a ride because he was having a Terrible No Good Very Bad Day and look what happened.
Its so iconic that Gundam Extreme VS and Gundam Versus has Quatre as an alternate pilot for Wing Zero and he sounds completely fucking loopy piloting it.

Building a Mobile Suit takes time, though. Wouldn't have Quatre calmed down by the time he finished?
I just thought that Quatre stumbled across it after the scientists hid it somewhere.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Oh he'd have calmed down alright.
Shame the ZERO System didn't have any of that.
In that short a timeframe!?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Apparently so!
My theory is the Wing Zero had some partially complete leftovers that the eggheads or someone else kept behind incase either the UESA or OZ got really shitty and they needed the final edge. Then Quatre happened upon it and well, yeah.
The reason he went so loopy is that the Zero System does that to people. It's basically a first-generation Brain/Computer Interface, so it requires an inhuman amount of focus to get useful information out of it. Otherwise it does things like, if you're thinking about your family, it interprets that as a targeting command and gives you mental imagery of you blowing up your family, because it's a combat computer so that's the only context it can process things through. And since it's effectively beaming information directly into your brain, if you're not used to it, it can be difficult to distinguish between what you're thinking about, what the Zero system is sending you, and what you're actually doing.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Huh no wonder Heero can pilot that thing.
He’s already insane.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Doctor J did some serious shit to him.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan will be writing the screenplay for Legendary's Gundam movie.
For the uninitiated, Vaughan is known for titles like Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Saga, and Ex Machina.
(I'm wondering if we should have a thread for this movie at the live-action film forum...)

Those are some damn good credentials.
Makes me wonder if he’s doing an original timeline or just a proper Origin adaptation. If they hired a writer now, we’re at least a year out from a usable script, then casting...
So there's some hope. Provided those pesky executives don't get involved.
if its a straight 0079 adaptation I'm thinking the guy who played Hux in Force Awakens can do a pretty damn good Gihren.
Brendan Gleeson?
Isn't he a bit young to be a Gihren?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Maybe so, but hotdamn his bigass speech in Force Awakens was Gihren level hammy.
That being said we also gotta figure out who'd be a convincing Char.
Yehno. Ginger Hitler was bad in TFA, and we don't need a redux as the exact same character in Gundam.
I'm less concerned about Char than I am Amuro. Char's pretty straightforward (and he can and should be race-lifted), but Amuro kind of needs to be a kid to work.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Domhnall Gleeson and Gihren are presently the exact same age.
What's precedent ever done for us?Ever noticed the issues at guessing some characters' ages?
Wake me up at your own risk. What I find more delightful is that Gleeman is also the right age to play Ramba Ral.
What's precedent ever done for us?Last I checked Amuro was half Mexican, but you just know if it based on the Origin, they’re gonna try and get Tom Holland.
Eh, that's shifted. Frankly, I think race is utterly incidental to Amuro so I don't care what they go with.
Wouldn't be surprised if they went with an Asian actor, though.
He's... not necessarily. IIRC, One adaptation (I'm not sure which) moved his mother (and thus, his hometown) to Mexico. I believe officially he's "half North American."

x6 Why should Char be race-lifted?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."IIRC it’s The Origin (which if this is going to be an adaptation of the original, is likely to use The Origin as its blueprint) that makes Amuro half-Mexican.
Well that and I’m for more Latinos in lead roles, but that’s another topic.

Bit of a heads-up, I went and made a thread for the movie in the Live-Action Film forum, so you can continue the conversation there.
Zero wasn't the prototype in that it was built first, but it was the original design template for the other five Gundams. The Zero was never built because its design was reliant on the Zero System, which was deemed too dangerous to use. The five scientists each made a lesser version according to their own predilections, resulting in the original five Gundams. At some point during the series, Quatre ended up with the schematics for Wing Zero and had it built out of desperation.
