Litten Line

Morphs [Oak Catalog #]

  • Litten [#725] Felignis catus
  • Torracat [#726] F. rubricatus
  • Incineroar [#727] F. calcaneus

Appearance

Litten is a species of feline Pokémon distantly related to Litleo and Purrloin. It is primarily black in colouration, with a red muzzle, two red bands on each leg, and a large red mark resembling a vertical line intersecting two parallel horizontal lines on its forehead. As with many juvenile Pokémon its head is large in proportion to the rest of its body, with a small black nose, a large tuft of red fur resembling sideburns on each cheek, two smaller black tufts on the crown of its head between the triangular ears, and a pair of large red eyes with yellow sclera. Its body is sleek and slender, with small three-toed paws and a relatively long tail ending in a frayed tuft. Its retractable claws are white. When startled, its dorsal fur has been shown to stand on end and clump together into three incandescent “spikes”. It has an average height of 0.4 metres and an average weight of 4.3 kilograms.

Its evolved form, Torracat, is effectively a larger, more mature version of Litten. Its head remains roughly the same size but is now proportionate to the rest of its body. The muzzle is more pronounced, with a larger nose and a pair of small fangs protruding from its upper jaw. Its sideburns have become more elaborate, each forming three large spikes radiating from the face. The mark on its forehead has grown more pronounced, with the lower horizontal line shifting slightly to serve as Torracat’s unibrow while the vertical line has thickened and merged with the small cranial tufts to form a slick red crest of fur. The ears are longer and narrower, while the eyes are now surrounded by a thin band of dark skin similar to that of an Axew.

Torracat’s colouration is now a near-equal mix of red and black, with the black upper half of its body and its red lower half divided by a line running down its flanks from the nose to the rump. The legs are thus now red with black bands as opposed to Litten’s black legs with red bands. Its front legs and paws are more developed than its hind legs, and the former’s claws—which are now black—are permanently extended. Its tail is shorter, thicker, and less flexible than in its previous form, with a pair of thin red bands near the frayed tuft. A mark identical to Litten’s forehead mark now sits on Torracat’s back, running along its spine. It has an average height of 0.7 metres and an average weight of 25 kilograms.

The most distinctive new element of Torracat’s appearance is the “collar”. A small band of black fur surrounds its neck, and from this band hangs an incandescent spherical organ resembling a bell. When roaring or using fire-based abilities, this bell is observed to flare up into a small fireball before returning to its original smooth configuration.

The final stage of the line, Incineroar, abandons its previous quadrupedal gait in favour of a bipedal, humanoid body structure. Its upper torso is robust and highly muscular, and its arms now end in fully-developed hands with opposable thumbs. The red crest it possessed as Torracat is gone, while its muzzle has become much more pronounced and its sideburns have grown large enough to nearly reach its shoulders. The ears are smaller and the upper portion of its forehead mark now extends up the top of its skull to the back of its head, while the unibrow formed by the mark’s lower horizontal line now extends past the limits of Incineroar’s face. Its eyes have turned green in this stage.

Incineroar’s chest is covered predominantly in grey fur which, combined with the frayed black tufts at its shoulders and the abrupt transition to the red-and-black fur of its arms, creates the illusion that the Pokémon is wearing a shirt. Torracat’s dorsal mark has turned black and now resembles an upward-pointing arrow or tree, with the upper horizontal line emphasizing Incineroar’s large shoulder blades. A similar mark now dominates its abdomen, with the horizontals curved so as to highlight its musculature. The bell has moved from the neck to the waist, forming a fiery “belt” similar to that of a Machamp. Its legs retain the two bands and three toes of its previous forms, while the arms instead have three black bands, prominent biceps, and four fingers and a thumb on each hand. Its claws are once again white and permanently extended. Its tail is now predominantly red, with two black bands; the tuft is now further back from the tip, which is red and smooth.

On average, Incineroar stands 1.8 metres tall and weighs 83 kilograms. Males and females share the same muscular build, making them difficult to tell apart at a glance.

As with all Pokémon species, Litten and its evolutions possess a rare phenotype that occasionally manifests as specimens with alternate colourations. In all three of Litten’s forms, this causes the black portions of its fur to turn white.

Notable Biology

As with many other feline Pokémon, Litten and its evolutions possess a keen sense of balance, good hearing, excellent night vision, and a sense of smell comparable to that of various canine Pokémon. Their senses are complemented by thousands of highly-sensitive whiskers, the most visible of which are the line’s distinctive sideburns, which help to locate nearby objects through touch and sensing vibrations in the air. Their tongues are covered with dozens of fine, backwards-facing hooks called papillae that assist in personal grooming, as well as umbrate-generating glands that allow it to paralyze prey with a simple lick.

Like all Fire-type Pokémon, Litten is capable of projecting flame and other pyrokinetic feats, though it does so through an unusual mechanism. Because its pyrosac is not fully developed, Litten requires combustible material to fuel its fire-based attacks. It obtains this fuel through grooming: its fur is naturally oily, and when licking itself, loose fur is hooked by the papillae. This fur then ends up in Litten’s stomach, where catalysts in the stomach acid mix with the oil to form a flammable substance that ignites upon contact with the air. The Pokémon then only needs to sneeze in a certain way, thus expelling the hairball, to produce blasts of fire. By lining its gums with hair, it can similarly cause its teeth to burst into flame when biting opponents.

Upon evolving into Torracat, its flame sac has fully formed and migrated to the throat. The incandescent “bell” on its collar is in fact the external component of this flame sac. When Torracat utilizes fire-based abilities, the “bell” has been observed to ring like an actual bell. Indeed, it appears to expel fire directly from the “bell” rather than the mouth, thus removing the need to use its own fur as fuel. Torracat is also immensely strong for its size, to the point where a single punch from its front paws can bend an iron bar in half.

While Litten and Torracat are known for their speed, stealth, and agility, upon evolving into the bipedal and top-heavy Incineroar these traits are sacrificed in favour of increased durability and stamina. In this stage its flame sac has migrated to its waist, and projects flames directly from this “belt”. The intensity of Incineroar’s flames is tied directly to its state of mind, becoming stronger the more confident it feels and weaker the more it doubts itself. The belt constantly exudes heat even when Incineroar is unconscious, and some enterprising Trainers have been known to use the creature as a makeshift stove while it sleeps.

Though its strength, body structure and demeanour would all suggest otherwise, Incineroar is not a Fighting-type Pokémon. In reality it is a Dark-type, as proven by its immunity to psionic attack, and while it can learn a number of abilities commonly associated with Fighting-type Pokémon, it has the capacity to learn a far greater number of the underhanded and umbrate-infused attacks found among Dark-types. In terms of unique abilities, Incineroar has been known to prevent opponents from using sonic attacks by striking them in the throat, and to bypass its opponents’ defenses by infusing its arms with dark energy before slamming the foe to the ground with a spinning lariat. When holding the rare Z-Crystal known as Incinium Z, Incineroar can use its Z-Power to briefly manifest a wrestling ring around its opponent; it then mounts one of the turnbuckles before launching itself into the air on a pillar of fire, crashing down onto its victim in an explosive 450-degree splash. Despite the pyrotechnics involved, this Z-Move does not actually burn the opponent and is classified as a Dark-type move.

There are two distinct “submorphs” of the Litten line. The more common morph is known for an instinctive defense mechanism in which the flames produced by its flame sac become stronger the closer it is to death or unconsciousness, a trait common to many of the so-called “starter” Fire-type Pokémon found throughout the world. The rarer second morph lacks this ability, instead having an instinctive knack for demoralizing potential opponents through a combination of threat displays and intimidating body language. Such specimens can easily frighten other Pokémon upon being sent into battle, making their opponents less likely to fight with their full strength.

Habitat

Though they can be found throughout the world, Litten and its evolutions are most common in the Alola region. They can be found in or near the many urban settlements of that archipelago, and their territory often overlaps with that of the Alolan form of Meowth. Because of this, the two species often come into conflict in the wild.

Wild Incineroar tend to avoid human settlements, preferring the more untamed parts of Alola where they can hunt without fear of human intervention. Tame specimens, on the other hand, are quite at home in human society.

Diet

Though all three stages of the line can and will eat Poké Beans, Litten and its evolutions are primarily carnivorous. They are active hunters whether wild or domesticated, and will often go after small birds and rodents like Pikipek and Rattata. Some Litten and Torracat may even bring their kills home as gifts for their Trainers. To avoid the risk of one’s Litten accidentally killing another person’s Pokémon, Trainers can give them toys to satisfy their hunting needs and feed them specialized food available from any Poké Mart.

Incineroar have large appetites to go with their large size, and wild specimens will stalk larger Pokémon such as Oranguru and the Alolan breed of Sandshrew and Sandslash. They generally avoid humans and do not see them as prey, though if food is scarce they may attack solitary travelers in the hope of a meal. Tame specimens have a fondness for steak, ground beef, and other forms of meat.

Hazards

As with any Pokémon, Litten can be dangerous if provoked. Apart from its ability to cough up fiery hairballs, it claws are quite sharp and its bite can inflict serious burns. Additionally, the oily fur it sheds is a fire hazard, and Litten must be kept away from any combustible materials as it has a tendency to burst into flame when shedding its old coat.

Torracat poses additional problems due to its greatly-increased strength. Paws that can bend steel bars can easily break human bones, and while a properly-trained specimen will know how to hold itself back during play, a wild specimen or an angry one can cause serious injury if it lashes out in a moment of anger. Care must also be taken while grooming Torracat, as its “bell” is hot enough to inflict second-degree burns to bare skin.

Incineroar can be a particularly difficult Pokémon to train, as it has a naturally aggressive disposition and may disregard both its Trainer’s orders and its opponent’s wellbeing in the heat of battle, often employing cheap shots and underhanded tactics to get a rise out of any spectators that may be present. Some specimens have even been known to lash out at the opponent’s Trainer, and one must take great care to teach one’s Incineroar that this is not acceptable behavior as its attacks can easily cause serious injury or death. Wild specimens are also dangerous, as they may view passing Trainers as threats to their territory and attempt to drive them off through violence.

While grooming a member of the Litten line, Trainers should be aware that these Pokémon dislike being touched in certain places. A Litten will not appreciate having its ears touched, a Torracat will not be pleased if its owner attempts to touch its sensitive whiskers, and an Incineroar dislikes being rubbed on the head as if it were a child. Failing to heed your Pokémon’s warning signs may result in a bite, a scratch, or even a choke hold in Incineroar’s case.

Courtship and Childrearing

While all three stages of the line are capable of reproduction, actual mating in the wild is typically restricted to the Torracat and Incineroar stages. Female specimens go into heat several times a year between spring and autumn, and will become vocal and irritable—sometimes to the point of starting fires—if prevented from going outside to search for a mate. Because male specimens outnumber the females by a large margin, several males will be attracted to any given female Torracat or Incineroar and will compete with one another for her favor. Such competitions can range from harmless threat displays to physical violence, though if one male is clearly stronger than another the weaker one will generally back down without a fight.

Mating is generally restricted to members of the same evolutionary stage. For example, a male Incineroar will prefer to seek out female Incineroar to mate with, and vice versa. If no partners can be found, however, they will make exceptions and seek out members of another stage.

The gestation period varies between stages, with Torracat taking 64-67 days birth on average while Incineroar typically needs 3-4 months. In all stages of the line, the average litter size is 2-3 kittens. Males play no part in the childrearing process, with the mother taking sole care of her offspring. As with many Pokémon, a mother Torracat or Incineroar is fiercely protective of her progeny and will not allow anyone to approach her kittens without her consent, with the possible exception of a trusted Trainer. Infant Litten are weaned at six months and become sexually mature once they are a year old.

Social Structure

Whether domesticated or wild, Litten and its evolutions are generally solitary creatures. They seldom interact with others of their kind except to mate or defend their territory from potential rivals. Those that live in urban environments, such as feral specimens or family pets, will stake a claim to a large section of their neighbourhood and patrol it several times a day. Individual Litten and Torracat with overlapping ranges will stagger their patrols in an effort avoid running into one another. Despite these measures, encounters between members of the line and other felines such as Meowth and Persian are practically inevitable in densely-populated areas.

Wild Incineroar are rarely seen in urban centers, and most city-dwelling specimens belong to Trainers. They no longer patrol their territory as frequently as they did in their previous stages, both because it is less practical for a human-sized biped to wander areas that it could previously fit through as a much smaller quadruped and because a full-grown Incineroar has little to fear from others of its kind. However, this is only true of tame and urbane specimens: wild Incineroar that dwell beyond a city’s limits are just as territorial as their younger forms and will not hesitate to drive off rivals.

In Human Culture

The Litten line has enjoyed a positive reputation for much of human history. It has been domesticated for thousands of years, with Litten being kept as pets for companionship, pest control, and a ready source of warmth during the winter amongst other reasons. Torracat were prized for their great strength and hunting skill, and in ancient times they would be kept in menageries and amphitheatres where they would fight other Pokémon and even human gladiators, sometimes to the death. So frequent were these bouts and so high was the demand that some biologists theorize that the Incineroar stage may have been an adaptation to this style of gladiatorial spectacle.

Due to its imposing physique, strength, and fighting prowess, Incineroar has been associated with martial arts for much of the species’ existence. Today it is most commonly associated with the sport of professional wrestling, where it is frequently cast as a “Heel”, or villain, due to its penchant for brutal and underhanded tactics. This is a role that many Incineroar seem to embrace, as the jeers of the crowd serve to stroke its ego and thus increase the power of its attacks. Some even consider them to be the greatest actors of any Pokémon, as they are able to maintain the façade of being a callous and brutal fighter seemingly without effort, dropping the act only in the company of close companions. Beyond the world of professional wrestling, Incineroar are frequently used as antagonists in works aimed at children, sometimes as legitimately evil villains, other times as misunderstood bullies.

The most famous Incineroar wrestler is Alola Joe, an unusually large member of the species. He is best known for his feud with the Face Hawlucha wrestler Halcón Mysterio, who is frequently depicted as the underdog in their bouts due to the staggering size difference between the two Pokémon.

Ducklett Line

Morphs [Oak Catalog #]

  • Ducklett [#580]
  • Swanna [#581]

Biology

Ducklett are often referred to as ugly or stupid-looking. Their reputation is often the reason most trainers never reveal the fact they have on of these blue birds until it evolves. It's feathers are often uneven and stick out from it's chest and back. It also has yet to molt it's down, as it can be seen on underneath feathers, or where it lacked them. Depending on the age of the specimen, the bird could range from a fuzzy hatchling to a messy, yet fully feathered Ducklett.

The female of this line is very similar to it's male counterpart, being only a slightly smaller than the male. The males chest is often more pronounce through their plumage, appearing to be more muscular.

The Ducklett is related to the Psyduck line, and shares a few of it's traits, such as a dull bill and short body, but it lacks claws or talons. Instead, it has it's coat and has a flying advantage over it's water-bound cousin. It also lacks any form of psychic ability, though some Psyduck also lack the brain-power to fully utilize their powers.

When it has gained a full coat of feathers, it often evolves into a Swanna, changing it's colors to an elegant white. It is often called the very symbol of feminine charm, changing drastically from it's original form. It's original blue down has grown to feathers and formed a new crest. It's neck elongates, and it's beak grows longer as well. It serves as a tool to fish, a vast improvement from it's pre-evolved form.

Their blue feathers have often been seen ranging from sky blue to an almost violet shade, mostly being lighter in males, while females are known for having deep blue feathers. While Swanna have mostly white plumage, their crests and accents are clearly blue.

Swanna are often seen preening their own plumage, or another as an act of romance. They are very self-centers, but when a suitable mate is introduced, the male often shows it's superior grace and elegance. Being larger, the male often preens the feathers near the head and neck.

Some state that it's feathers are so soft, they are used to manufacture fashion and accessories. This is more often seen in Kalosian and Unovan culture, though it has been seen in Kanto and Sinnoh.

Habitat

The Ducklett line is referred to as the Water Bird Pokemon, making it's home either on, or relatively near the edge of ponds and lakes. While Ducklett often swim in rivers, Swanna tend to stay away from currents, since it ruffles their plumage.

Ducklett aren't at all interested in self-beauty, often making their own nests a mess of twigs and grasses, often held together by mud. It could be made on the ground or in trees by parents or siblings that decided to shack up together. It's most often to see Ducklett in the same nest with at least another to help fish or protect from predators, even if they aren't the best fighters. They aren't very tidy either, unlike their evolved forms.

They are extremely proud of their nests, and peck any intruders. The surroundings must be fairly fancy, as Swanna often judge others by the state of their residence. It is often made of woven fibers of grass and twigs, using branches as support pillars. It isn't entirely known how Swanna weave without the use of hands, but some speculate it is a stitch-effort between two mates.

Diet

Ducklett and Swanna are carnivores, but will eat berries surrounding the ponds and lakes at which they live. Their most common meal is Tympole and Poliwag, though they also eat Remoraid and Goldeen.

While Ducklett are willing to eat most any meal, a Swanna will never eat any leftovers from past meals, no matter the condition. It is often speculated they learned this from humans throwing away half eaten meals from restaurants and cafes.

Hazards

Ducklett as themselves are relatively harmless. Most people know they aren't very strong on their own, though when a flock of them gather, they can often burn or drown their enemies with just of warm water. The sac that holds the water used in their attacks burns calories to keep it warmer than the rest of their bodies, even while submerged. Underestimating this bird has resulted in hospitalizations for first degree burns.

Once evolved, for breeders or caretakers, the Swanna will require some space to create a nest of their own, as well as suitable supplies to do so. Those that trespass will not be spared from their sharp beaks. Foolish and unsuspecting trainers drinking at lakes and ponds have been rushed to hospitals for punctured organs and sometimes even death.

Courting and Childrearing

As Ducklett, they are unable to reproduce. Though some have been able to lay eggs before evolving, the eggs are often infertile and are sold to chefs around the world.

Once evolved, the Swanna wait until mating season before flying out to find a suitable mate. It is the male that chooses the female, though both have a choice. If the female denies the male, she will peck him until he flies away.

If successful, the two will build a nest near a body of water in the trees and stay there for an entire year. The eggs must be incubated for two months before the Ducklett break through the shells. They emerge covered with down, but blind for several days.

The Swanna often stay in the same nest as their Ducklett hatchlings for two months, before they are allowed to leave to make their own nests. The parents are often described as caring, even when they fix any damage the Ducklett have caused. However, if another Ducklett wanders into the nest, the Swanna will attack without hesitation.

Social Structure

Swanna are very social, often building their nests near other Swanna and Ducklett. While Ducklett are often unintelligent and weak, they will always seek out others of their kind. Finding them isn't hard when they are so tightly grouped together, but if they find one of their members in trouble, they will attack at any cost. See Hazards information above.

Preening is an act of caring and romance, often between two mates or siblings. If another Swanna touches another from a different family, they are disgraced and often cast out of the flock. It's important, if you're raising your own Swanna flock, to keep families properly separated to prevent this.

If it is to be used on a battling team, be sure to keep it company and to provide it with some fashionable or acceptable place to rest. Neglecting their comfort would anger them and most like will end in injury. Their plumage needs to be tended for their own self esteem, as being seen with any mistakes in their feathers will be the trainer's fault and affect the Pokemon.

In Human Culture

Ducklett and Swanna have been the focus of several stories, often child stories. Once example is the Ugly Ducklett, which explains the evolution of their species. Another is Mother Swanna and the Little Blue Bird and shows how hatchlings don't stay in the nest for long. The Six Swanna is a famous story, of elegance and beauty, as well as family. Many songs have also been written about the Pokemon, such as Swanna Lake and other works.

In some stories, the Swanna feathers are used as clothing or capes, often by mystical beings like faeries or elves. While most don't go into details about obtaining said feathers, most claim it is without violence. After all, it is usually portrayed as a pure creature.

However, this Pokemon also holds the reputation of finales. Many people call their last career's actions to be masterpieces or Swanna songs. To prove his point, one musician from Unova released his final song under the title 'Swanna Song'. While many asked him to return to the music scene, he turned to painting the majestic creatures instead.

In spite of their elegant and majestic backgrounds, there is one trainer who went to almost mock the entire species by displaying a black Swanna. He claimed they were simply Pokemon, subjects of battle and hardly something to be seen as beautiful. While his motives and goals went unfulfilled, a new style emerged with black Swanna feathers. Though the scheme was busted, since no one found another black Swanna, it became tradition for women to bring black feathers to funerals in Unova.

While they possess some powerful water and flying attacks, they are very vulnerable to electric types, with Emolga being their primary enemy. Trainers that use this Pokemon have come to fear the flying rodent. While they have that primary weakness, since they took to the skies, they no longer fear grass types.

Many trainers and businessmen use this Pokemon as their symbol or as a mascot. It's elegance is described as feminine and charming. As such, many clothing and accessories shops hold it as their emblem.

Should one be encountered, it's best not to kill them. Most frown on the death of the pure bird. If you have to fight it, capturing it is the best way to stop it. Though using one in battle isn't wrong, most don't perceive it as an aggressive type. As such, most don't bother doing much else than sell it or simply let it go.

Alright, could I make a quick request?

This might sound like begging, but could someone make the lore for the Sinnoh Region? I've been writing a story, but I've been stuck. I mean, we all know it's a religion based region, but I'm actually lost in the world I'm weaving... Well, I'm just asking for a little help with my imagination.

On top of that, the page needs to be made anyways. Just trying to lift it's priority. Thanks! Ciao!

Now I wonder what's taking the Froakie line entry so long. Surely it has nothing to do with a certain Greninja, now would it? tongue

Speaking of which, what kind of world is this Fanon Pokédex based on? How does one balance out the English and Japanese names given that much of the Pokémon World is based off of Japan's culture?

Uxie

Morphs [Oak Catalog #]

  • Uxie [#480]

Physical Description

Uxie is a small gray creature that possesses features similar to Pokemon in the Fairy Egg Group. Its skin is comparable to that of a human being, but is completely hairless. It eyes are always closed, but its irises are presumed to be yellow as with its fellow lake guardians. Its head is rather large in proportion to its body, being yellow and in a shape faintly resembling that of a human brain.

Uxie's two tails are slightly longer than its body, with the ends shaped similarly to tree leaves. It is unlikely that the tails would be used as balance during flight, as Uxie travels around using its telekinetic abilities, which stays active even during sleep. As Uxie rarely if ever uses its lower limbs for movement, it does not have legs, only two feet and no toes.

Encrusted in the middle of Uxie's forehead is a red gem, which is theorized to be the source of its power, backed up by the fact that it glows whenever Uxie using abilities besides its standard attacks. On its two tails are similar gems, but only seems to glow when Uxie uses it powers together with the other lake guardians.

Lore and History

In Sinnoh myths and legends, Uxie is revered as a deity by the locals, usually as part of a Trinity with its fellow Lake Gurdians. Considered the "Being of Knowledge", it is said to be responsible for giving all living beings the ability to comprehend the world around them. Uxie and its fellow lake guardians were said to be born at the same moment as the three dragons of creation. Just as the dragons are considered the embodiment of the physical realm, the lake guardians are the source of the soul.

Various religious faiths and denominations of the Sinnoh region consider the three lake guardians to be female and the three dragons to be male. This is presumably due to their physical appearance and the intention to separate male and female roles in society. Various individuals across history has traveled from distant lands to Lake Acuity in order to gain enlightenment or wisdom. To those who are with good intentions, Uxie would grant them the knowledge they seek, and sometimes even provide information they weren't aware of, through visions or dreams. To those with evil intentions, Uxie would wipe away their memories and seal away any intention to do evil.

In local folklore, some stories depicts Uxie as the one who punishes those who blasphemed against the original one, acting ruthless and unforgiving. Others depict it as the spirit of Truth, and that the closed eyes of Uxie also represents its objectivity. As such, it is tradition for agreements and laws to be signed at Lake Acuity, with Uxie bearing witness. Once, a peace treaty was to be signed between the leaders of two rivaling groups. When the two leaders went forward to sign the treaty, the table was struck by lightning, burning the agreement and both leaders alive. Afterwards, the members of both groups received a vision, revealing that both leaders had ill intentions when they agreed to the signing, and that the conflict that divided the two groups were started by them in the first place.

Nowadays, it is common for parents to come to Lake Acuity to pray for their children to do well for their studies.

Known Sightings

Uxie is found at Lake Acuity, specifically in Acuity Cavern, though some has reported seeing Uxie at the Nameless Cavern that is situated northeast of Sootopolis City in the Hoenn region. Usually, people who come to Lake Acuity would meet with an astral projection of Uxie that hover around in the middle of the lake. Uxie does this for its own safety, knowing how essential its role is to the world. However, Uxie was once captured by Team Galactic as part of their plan to summon Dialga and Palkia. All data of Uxie currently available came from Team Galactic database after its capture. Team Galactic has since collapsed after the lost of their leader, Cyrus. Some people has reported seeing the legendary Pokemon in their dreams. While usually such claims would be ignored as attempts to gain attention, some scientists have decided to look into the matter after finding out that a large number of them have become famous scholars or professors, despite previously shown no talent or interest in their fields.

Ábilities

According to those who engaged in battle with Uxie during its capture, Uxie possess incredible defensive capabilities, comparable to that of Pokemon much larger than itself. However, Uxie cannot fight for long, with a low offensive output that harm its capability to repulse its enemies. After comparing the notes and the statements of other Team Galactic members, researchers noticed that the psionic energy emitted by the Lake Guardians are equal, suggesting that Uxie chose to focus its own energy on protecting itself. A small minority of researchers has suspected Uxie to possess Fairy typing due to its appearance, but the theory was quickly thrown away after the data obtained from Team Galactic reveals that Uxie only showed weakness towards Bug, Dark and Ghost type attacks. Uxie is usually seen levitating, even when unconscious, presumably due to its psychic ability.

Hazards

While Uxie refrain from using its psychic abilities for offensive purposes, it is able to use powerful moves to protect itself if needed. Uxie has displayed several moves from other types, such as Solar Beam and Thunder, which are capable of inflicting serious injuries on its enemies. Uxie most dangerous ability is its ability to wipe out the memories of those that see it eyes. Most of them were reverted to the mental state of an infant. Some of them became completely different people upon their awakening, displaying different personality traits and act differently from before. It is unknown how much control Uxie have over this ability, but it is accepted that it would be most unwise to anger Uxie without having specialized technology to counter said ability. It is presumed that Team Galactic possessed such technology, but most of their equipment was destroyed before the international police arrived.

Other

While it is unknown what Uxie eats, or whether it eats at all, there are reports that Uxie have been sighted near apple trees.

Itedatakeshi, it's very nice and all, but it's a little lacking in the Lore section. Also, I noticed several grammatical errors, as well as spelling in a few places. Though it is acceptable that we don't know very much about this Pokemon, the Lore should be the largest section due to several beliefs and views on it. A paragraph or two more would be nice.

Also, like the Markup Help states, using exclamation marks at the beginning of things changes the font size and format.

Mespirit

Morphs [Oak Catalog #]

  • Mespirit [#481]

Physical Description

Mespirit is a small, gray, pixie-like creature. Its skin is hairless and is as smooth as the skin of a newborn baby. Its eyes are noticeably large in proportions to its head, taking around 50% of its face, with yellow irises and small pupils. Even when displaying different facial expressions, its eyelids seem to be constantly kept half-closed. It has a partially magenta with four long, drooping appendages that resembles human hair.

Like its fellow Lake Guardians, it has two tails that extends longer than its body and curves upwards. It only possess two fingers, so its unlikely they are used for complicated movement. While Mespirit's arms are streamlined, it does have joints within them that allows Mespirit to bend them.

Encrusted in the middle of its forehead and the end of its two tails are red gems, presumably the gems that comprise the red chain. Mespirit is noticeably more expressive that its counterparts, displaying a wide range of emotions such as anger and pride. It is unknown whether this is unique to Mespirit or that it simply expresses its emotions outwardly.

Lore and History

Mespirit is commonly worshiped as part of a trinity along with its fellow lake guardians, but is also treated separately as a deity that govern over love, desire, harmony, peace, family, passion and empathy. It is said to have given all living beings to experience emotion, such as the joy and sadness of living. Despite being equals, Mespirit is more popular among the people of Sinnoh when compared to the other lake guardians. Imagery of Mespirit is commonly used as a symbol by freedom movements, designs on postcards or as a logo for charities and non-profit organizations. It is not uncommon in Sinnoh for people to replace the heart symbol with the face of Mespirit.

Mespirit is often mentioned in poems, songs, plays and stories, especially those in regards to love and family. From tales of romance to tragedies, Mespirit is found in stories from the ancient text to modern novels. Some conservatives groups believes only heterosexual relationships as proper and according to the original one's wishes, refuses to recognize the marriage of two people that are not of different genders by birth. A spectral form of Mespirit appears before these couples, letting them know that their relationship is recognized by the original one. When an official refused to approve of the law allowing homosexual marriage, the seal of the original one was inscribed onto the document as a magenta light glowed brightly above the supreme court of Sinnoh.

Thousands of people tell stories of meeting with Mespirit. Some said Mespirit helped them find true love, some said that it helped mended their relationships between their spouses of family members, some said it supported them through depression, some say they played with it when they were children and some say it punishes those who spread hate. No matter what, Mespirit is depicted as a mischievous but playful entity.

Known Sightings

Mespirit is found in Verity Cavern at Lake Verity, which is found Northwest of Twinleaf town. Some has reported seeing Mespirit at Celestial Tower of Unova and the Nameless Cavern of Hoenn. Usually, people who come to Lake Verity would meet with an astral projection of Mespirit that hover around in the middle of the lake. Mespirit does this for its own safety, knowing how essential its role is to the world. However, Mespirit was once captured by Team Galactic as part of their plan to summon Dialga and Palkia. All data of Mespirit currently available came from Team Galactic database after its capture. Reports of Mespirit are way more common in comparison to other legendary Pokemons of Sinnoh. Even those who never heard of Mespirit has reported feeling a calming presence around them despite being alone.

Ábilities

According to those who battled it, Mespirit does not seem to excel in combat, and does not display any noticeable capability in defense of offense. Even during combat, it does not often try to fight back unless forced to, displaying mostly defensive abilities. However, it does possess offensive capabilities, capable of using powerful attacks from multiple types, but seems to lack the power to use them to their fullest potential. Despite this, team Galactic reported having difficulty in capturing Mespirit, due to their Pokemon's reluctance to attack Mespirit. Some has reported that their Pokemon disobeyed orders and even attacked them during the operation.

Hazards

Despite its pacifistic attitude and lacking in offensive prowess, Mespirit is still willing to attack in self-defense if necessary. Mespirit's most dangerous ability is where it strips its opponent of its emotions through physical contact, reducing it to a lifeless husk. Victims of this ability do not respond to any form of stimuli, only displaying reflexive actions such as jolting back from pain. It is likened to lobotomy, but while the former has varied result, Mespirit's ability strips an individual of any personality. Do not attempt to harm Mespirit under any conditions.

Other

The babies of Sinnoh rarely cry, and when they do, they quickly stop, even without their parents comforting them. Some has said Mespirit is responsible for this phenomena.

Wishiwashi (Fanon Dex)

Wishiwashi

  • Wishiwashi [746]

Physical Description

Wishiwashi actually have two forms, dependent on level and health. Their base form, Solo Form, resembles a small fish with large, light blue eyes, irises reminiscent of puddles of water, and dark blue eyelids. Both head and tail are white, and a line of white, teardrop-like markings are on each side of its body, the one nearest the head being slightly larger than the rest. Its upper half is dark blue, with a small, rounded dorsal fin, and the lower half is white, with two pectoral fin.

In School Form, its size is far larger, and composed of hundreds of smaller fish, with glowing blue eyes. From its head going backwards, it has 'bands', each becoming a slightly darker shade of blue, with a ring of bright blue glowing spots lines the front edge of the two middle bands. Its 'eyes' are not truly eyes at all, but other Wishiwashi, like the rest of its body.

More glowing dots are present on the lips, and the inside of its mouth. Each side possesses dark blue fish-shaped recesses, from where it can fire fish-shape torpedoes. It has pectoral finds the same color of its head, with a trio of finger-shaped projections, also peppered with glowing spots. Its dorsal fin is much larger, with glowing spots at the tip, though the base is darker. Numerous spikes surround its third 'band' and the tip of its rounded tail, the latter having two glowing spots at the base.

For some unknown reason, there are large, noticeable gaps on either side of School Form Wishiwashi's mouth. There is speculation that this is so because of lack of sufficient Wishiwashi in the area to fill these gaps, though this is more than likely an intimidation tactic.

Notable Biology

Wishiwashi are a curious Pokémon whose appearance depends on two things; its level, and current physical state. Wishiwashi remain in Solo Form until level 20, with their stats being the worst of all known Pokemon (even Sunflora). However, upon reaching level 20, with Health Points higher than 25%, they gain the ability to send out a sort of biological S.O.S signal that summons all nearby Wishiwashi to join together, creating School Form.

Strangely enough, despite being made up of hundreds of Wishiwashi, it acts as a singular Pokemon. It is unknown at this time if the Wishiwashi that sent out the signal retains its consciousness, or it melds together with the others to form a new one altogether that doesn't exist outside of School Form.

When its Health Points reach 25% or below, it reverts back to Solo Form, likely due to the other Wishiwashi being incapacitated from all the attacks it was formed to endure up to that point (in the course of battle, when struck, small Wishiwashi can be seen falling off the Schooling Pokemon). However, should its Health Points rise again, it can send out its signal to recreate School Form.

They remain in Solo Form outside of battle. When they sense danger, however, they will immediately send out their signal. While most Wishiwashi can enter School form in a few moments, well-trained/experienced Wishiwashi can change form in less than half a second.

Habitat

Wishiwashi inhabit most bodies of saltwater in the Alola region, occasionally appearing in smaller areas such as lakes or ponds. Generally, if a Wishiwashi is in an area, it is incredibly rare to find anything else. Should a Wishiwashi appear in a frequented area, such as a beach, it is recommended to close the area immediately, evacuate everyone, and wait for an experienced trainer to solve the problem.

Diet

Solo Form Wishiwashi tend to eat kelp and not much else, owing to their size and virtually absent combat ability. When in School Form, however, they can, and usually do, eat other Pokémon, including but not limited to, Carvanha, Sharpedo, Tentacruel, Araquanid, and even Gyarados. They have also been known to ram into the sides of boats, and eat those unlucky enough to fall overboard. Lacking teeth, the preferred method is to usually swallow their prey whole.

Hazards

Wishiwashi are feared by essentially the entire Alola region, for good reason. Their massive size, innumerable fighting strength, and ability to eat virtually anything make them tough opponents, but also powerful allies. However, this only applies in School Form.

Courtship and Childrearing

Wishiwashi court via sending out a unique signal different from their S.O.S signal. It will then spread out at alarming speeds, and resonate with a mate. As all Wishiwashi in Solo Form have no combat skill, it is, at the time of this writing, unknown what exactly Wishiwashi deem as qualifying attributes. When an appropriate companion inevitably locates the source of the signal, they mate, for life.

Males and females will take care of the eggs in sequence. If one or more of them are capable of entering School Form, they will maintain it indefinitely until the eggs hatch, at which time they will disperse and relocate with their new family.

Social Structure

As many Wishiwashi combine to form one, they all see themselves as equal to others, and there is virtually no infighting within the species. However, those who can enter School Form are revered as protectors and giving a guardianship role within their school.

In Human Culture

In Solo Form, they are almost laughably weak, and easy to catch. When in the company of a trainer, they are clingy, being unable to survive on their own. Once they have achieved Schooling, however, they gradually begin to become more independent, but still show complete and total devotion to their trainer.

Kinda belated, but here's a revised Kyogre article.

Kyogre

Morphs [Oak Catalog #]

  • Kyogre [382]
  • Primal Kyogre [382-A]

Physical Descriptions

Kyogre is depicted as a large Pokémon with a long blubbery blue and grey body and large wing-like fins on either side of it. The body's top has two fins, and the tail possesses four long fins akin to a kite's. Red lines decorate the contours of its body, forming a large pattern akin to a capital A on top of its fins. Four large grey spots are shown atom the titan's head. Its yellow eyes are bordered by a large black undershadow, which in turn is bordered by a red semicircle. Though its mouth usually remains closed, opening it reveals numerous sharp teeth inside its maw.

Depictions of Kyogre's original form in ancient times (henceforth referred to as "Primal Kyogre") suggest a beast of titanic size, with a deeper blue body and light blue stripes in lieu of red. The pattern on its fins is shown to have been much more like a capital Alpha symbol; another one of which appears on the titan's head, streaking off into a large line connected to the tail and branching off into the spots on the head. Supposedly, Primal Kyogre's body gains translucent markings, showing the insides of the Pokémon as pure glowing yellow energy, a colour that even the eyes share.

Lore and History

In Hoenn legend, the world during the primal age was rich and abundant with natural energy. This energy could be used for all kinds of purposes, from healing injuries and ailments, to increasing strength a thousandfold, to, some stories say, creating life itself. However, this prompted many — human and Pokémon alike — to fight and wage war for control of it, and of these none were as feared as the two ancient titans, Groudon and Kyogre. Filled with the raw energy the planet provided, Kyogre's strength was feared by all, for it had the power to summon torrential rain and flood the land, shaping the seas and carving oceans to its very whim. With this power, it sought only to defeat its mortal enemy Groudon and control the planet's energy. Many lost their lives in the crossfire of their furious and ceaseless conflicts, but when all seemed lost, another titan appeared; Rayquaza. Though it lacked the ability to draw from nature as the two could, its power was far stronger than either of them, and Kyogre and Groudon were eventually defeated, sparing the lives of the people of Hoenn. Wounded, Kyogre descended to the farthest depths of the ocean to enter a deep slumber.

This was not to last, however, for a thousand years later a large meteorite crashed into the sea and bored out a huge crater, flooding the world with natural energy and awakening the Primal Pokémon once again. Travelling to the impact site, Kyogre's power threatened to flood the world once more — a disastrous prospect that only got worse when, upon arrival, it saw Groudon had also reawoken, and the two prepared to start another destructive conflict. The people of Hoenn prayed that Rayquaza would appear to save them once more, and it did. However, their prayers triggered the world's first Mega Evolution, and Mega Rayquaza's emerald light and mighty wind drained the power of the Primal Pokémon, quelling them once more. As before, Kyogre dove to the depths of the sea to sleep eternally.

In time, two orbs were discovered, similar in shape to Mega Stones; one red with an Omega inside it, and one blue with an Alpha. Recalling the memory of the two titans, it was assumed the two were connected to them, and that the opposite orbs were responsible for quelling the two Pokémon's wrath (as the legend of Rayquaza had all but faded from the minds of most people), and for reawakening them. To prevent another calamity like the ones caused by Kyogre, both orbs were hidden away where none could find them.

In the Johto region's past, the Embedded Tower was constructed by travellers from Hoenn in reverence of their region's legendary Pokémon. It was thought that if the Blue Orb were to be taken to the tower, then Kyogre would show themselves there before those with a golden heart. It is thus thought that wherever the Blue Orb may travel, so too will Kyogre, attracted to the primal energy it eminates.

Known Sightings

Although a key figure of Hoenn legend, very little sightings of Kyogre have been made in the modern day. It is generally assumed that, on the day drastic and unusual weather patterns changed the Hoenn region's climate, Kyogre reawakened and was at least partially responsible. This is further supported by the apparent origin of the phenomena from within Sootopolis City, and the actions of the organization Team Aqua — a group who sought to return the world to a more natural state for the benefit of Pokémon — some time prior. Their theft of the Submarine Explorer 1 and attempt to artificially create a Mega Stone would seem to indicate they attempted to revive Kyogre and reawaken its Primal state. That the weather eventually stopped and natural energy was released across Hoenn indicate the Pokémon — if it did reawaken at all — was eventually subdued in some form.

Abilities

Kyogre's most well-known ability is its effect on the weather - namely, its summoning of torrential rain regardless of current weather conditions through its mere presence. According to legend, Primal Kyogre's storms were potent enough to engulf entire landmasses in floods and completely extinguish fire, even the searing hot flames of Fire-type Pokémon. No ordinary Pokémon could affect Primal Kyogre's power (dubbed "the Primordial Sea" by awed historians) through the use of techniques like Drought, and only two Pokémon could do so — Primal Groudon (who could override the Primordial Sea with its Desolate Land), and Mega Rayquaza (whose Delta Stream completely supressed both weather-influencing abilities). After being drained of its power, Kyogre's power became more like a typical Pokémon's Drizzle Ability, though still potent enough to cause devastation if left unchecked.

As a Pokémon of the sea, Kyogre is assumed to be a Water-type, and it is described as using vast amounts of water-based attacks, such as Hydro Pump, Water Spout, and a move no other Pokémon is known to know; an array of water beams dubbed "Origin Pulse". One account of a battle between it and Primal Groudon claimed it could use icy-cold temperatures to fire devastating Ice-type attacks such as Ice Beam and Sheer Cold. One legend even claims that its control over its storms was so great, it could influence the sky to send down devastating bolts of lightning that always struck their targets.

Since it is said to sleep deep in a marine trench at the bottom of the ocean, Kyogre appears to be a completely aquatic Pokémon, with the ability to descend to deep depths and survive indefinitely in the extreme pressures and temperatures of the environment. That it still returned there even after being drained of its primal energy by Mega Rayquaza indicates that this resistance to hostile environments is a natural part of Kyogre's biology.

Though Kyogre's power was drained, it is still feared as a powerful Pokémon leagues above others even in its weakened state. However, legends say that if Kyogre were to acquire the Blue Orb, it could use it to absorb and draw from the power of nature to revert to its Primal form through a process similar to Mega Evolution, though unlike the latter process, it does not require a strong bond with a Trainer and is immediate. This process has been dubbed "Primal Reversion", and both Kyogre and Groudon are the only known Pokémon said to undergo it.

Hazards

Kyogre's power would make any fight against it very one-sided, particularly if it underwent Primal Reversion first. In addition to its own titanic strength, its torrential rainfalls would cause much damage and devastation to the environment if left uncontrolled and unchecked. Though it is hypothesized that a Poké Ball would limit the amount of power it draws from nature, a torrent of rain from Primal Kyogre's presence would still be more than capable of sparking flash floods.

According to legend, Kyogre is a single-minded creature, seeking only complete control over the raw primal energy it feasted on, as well as the complete destruction of its sworn enemy Groudon. Professors belive that while Kyogre may not be completely incapable of forming a bond with a Trainer (particularly if the Embedded Tower's legend of it appearing before those with "golden hearts" is true), it would be a long and difficult task that only a patient and gifted person could do.

Other

The exact origin of the Blue and Red Orbs are uncertain; though at first they were believed to have been creations of ancient humans as an attempted means of calming and controlling Kyogre and Groudon, later discoveries have opened up the possibility of them being fragments of the meteorite that impacted the planet, which were infused with the two titans' Primal power after Mega Rayquaza neutralized and drained it out of the two.

To date, no-one is sure about how Kyogre would react to the Red Orb, which supposedly contains the primal energy lost by Groudon with the appearance of Mega Rayquaza. Various historians have offered two possible outcomes; either the Red Orb's energies have no effect on Kyogre, or the energy of its enemy enrages Kyogre and drives it into a berserk rage. Some even believe this latter outcome has happened in at least one other universe.

I think the original article was written with Emerald in mind, and OR/AS (and its either/or in regards to Magma and Aqua's role) seem to override it as far as the current continuity is concerned. Plus looking back at OR/AS, I got the impression that Kyogre and Groudon weren't considered deities so much as all-powerful and uncaring forces of nature that Rayquaza (who is considered a deity) saved them from, and I figured a full-on rewrite was justified.

This also applies to Rayquaza and Deoxys (particularly since OR/AS makes the backstory given in the current Deoxys article almost incompatible, and there ain't no way in hell I'm breaking the Single Specimen Species aspect for Legendaries/Mythicals unless it's explicitly canon and even then I'd do it through gritted teeth. Incidentally I regret ever referencing Genesect and the Legend Awakened in the Genesect article and scrubbing all mentions of it would be the first change I'd make to it).

[up]Why is breaking Single Specimen Species a bad thing for all Legendaries/Mythicals? Yes, I agree that doing so for species like Mewtwo, Genesect, and the cover Legends since Gen III (Groundon, Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, etc.) would be nonsensical, but for some others it would be more enriching for their lore, I believe.

Well, it's like if you're shown two animals and told one is down to only 10,000 specimens, and another is down to only one. The latter is going to sound more impressive and worthy of attention by comparison. Plus, most of them are just so powerful (if not to the same extent as Kyogre or Yveltal) that if more than one existed, you'd have to wonder how they haven't nuked the world to oblivion between infighting.

About the only legendaries I can buy there being more than one of (discounting the Ultra Beasts who may or may not count) are the Eon Pokémon, Heatran (though I believe it was meant to have been a non-legendary at first), Keldeo (pre-parent death), Diancie, and the Cosmog family. Maybe the Regis and the Kanto birds count too, but that's with some squinting and "I'll-pretend-I-didn't-see-that".

But in Deoxys' case, it comes from space. And space is very, very big. So big that the odds of another Deoxys virus coming to Earth and mutating in a similar way are, while not strictly impossible, still very unlikely.

[up]There can be more than one Deoxys! Like any virus, all they need is to infect some healthy host cells that will keep producing the parent virus until they die off.

I actually have a head cannon that classifies all the Legendaries into different ranks depending on power level and origin. One of them are God Beasts, which are creatures which are just like regular animals, but are extremely rare, extremely powerful, and can only breed within their own group. These include the Kanto birds, the Johto cats, Lugia, Ho-oh, Heatran, the Eons, Manaphy and Phione, etc.

While I do plan on touching upon the implications of a more virus-like Deoxys, I can't help but feel like its mutation into a more complex lifeform made infecting others difficult, if not impossible. Otherwise, Deoxys would logically completely devastate all life on Earth simply by existing, provided no-one possesses a natural resistance/immunity to this virus from a completely different world.

And this isn't even taking into account quite how said mutated alien virus would react to hosts as diverse and bizarre as Pokémon. I might add in a bit about it creating "Deoxys-lites" out of humans, but I kinda feel that's treading on Nihilego's territory somewhat.

Hello fellow tropers. I have recently been reading through these articles, and have noticed some spelling errors and broken links. Being the nitpicky person that I am, this bothers me, but since you have requested that people don't go editing the articles willy-nilly I have refrained from doing so because that would be hella rude. Is there a good way to go about fixing this? Should I just make a big list of things and post it to the thread, or would that be annoying?
