Only other major use of it I can recall of the touch screen is it being how you entered networks from the Wave Road (anything you can enter has a portal and you touch the portal to enter that device). Otherwise, it should be light on the touchscreen and pretty feasible to port over.

3's battle menus actually incorporated the positioning of the buttons into gameplay — your battle cards were laid out across the screen but sometimes, you'd be able to see one of your next cards under the currently available ones. If you chose, you could either use that one early at the cost of not being able to use any other cards that turn, or convert it into a support card based on its type.

As for how a Star Force Legacy Collection would deal with touch screen usage, perhaps it'll give you an option to use button controls. (Mega Man Star Force DX did something like this as one of it's many quality of life improvements.)

So excited for the collection. I bought a GB Operator for really no reason other than to be able to play my old Battle Network games, and trying to find the ones I didn't have revealed that those games sell for over a hundred dollars these days (ewww).

Just being able to buy them all and play them all in a single purchase is a godsend. I've missed this style so much. I like One Step From Eden, but it's a roguelike and so cuts out a lot of what I liked about this series.

Hah. With the Battle Network collection on the way, here's a little sample from the Stream version of the anime, pointing out the most efficient way to plug in:

I'm annoyed I never noticed this. Even considering the fact that Laika was invisible at the time, his way was still better.

Mega Man: The Wily Wars is part of NSO now. This is probably the most accessible way to play it.

You know, it's years later, and I'm still annoyed that there was never a full version of Futatsu no Mirai / Two Futures.

Yeah, that was about 15-20 years ago (I believe it can out sometime in 2003 or 2004), but it's still really annoying, especially considering that every other season of the anime got a long version of its theme.

In fact, as I understand it, the Cross Fusion era never got an ost release beyond the opening themes for Stream and Beast. That's just really weird.

TIL of the existence of Sudachi Woman. She was a Rockman X-Over character made for one of those boss submission contests.

Incidentally, KingMan.EXE was also a contest winner...he was my personal That One Boss for Battle Network 3. XD

At least King Man was an ally and not WWW, so no random encounters. That makes him way less unbearable than Desert Man.

Before the collection come out, any tips for handling Dive Man and his stage?

Don't even check the riddles and save scum the fuck out of it. Makes your life way easier. And DiveMan himself is pretty straightforward.

[up][up]Diveman is weak to electricty, so you can use Spark for double damage. Other than that, hes pretty susceptible to Reflect with his big wind up attacks.

This is probably the most accessible way to play it.

Unless you have the Sega Genesis Mini, which...is going through aftermarket prices right now.

I'm not worried about the riddles. The problem is the sharks cornering you or you run into an alcove.

Would a Fan chip work on Snake Man to bring him to the front column or do the holes prevent him from coming over minus his bite attack?

This doesn't really negate what I said? NSO is still the most accessible way to play it.

But muh not needing an online subscription to play retro games!

I jest (in both this and the previous post), but wasn't there a commotion about NSO and its pricing? Or have they calmed down about that by now?

The pricing is still kind of ass for what it does, but paying for one year is cheaper than hunting down an aftermarket Genesis Mini. Plus you get other games to play.

I found a post on another website that brings up some potential problems with the Legacy Collection.

Some of the games need to be connected for certain chips and by extension 100%.

The GBA versions of 5 have features requiring the e-reader.

10 games are advertised, which means 5 Double Team DS isn't part of the collection.

The cut Boktai content in 6.

The crossover with Star Force (I know its a mere remake of the first game with an extra chapter featuring the Star Force characters).

I know that the Wii-U Virtual Console releases just straight-up gave the player the secret chips from the get go so I imagine the Legacy Collection will simply do the same.

The VC version of 5 also unlocks Bass Cross for you via the same method that gives the Secret Chips.

I know the Mega Man Zero/ZX collection tied e-reader content to an in-game achievement system. So they do keep some of this stuff in mind.

Here's a really silly video of exe Megaman beating up literally everyone.

Also, Buff Roll and Mayl, Yai and Dex stomping a mudhole in Wily.
