Shoot for the stars as you re-experience an interstellar adventure.
Mega Man Star Force DX, as its title implies, is an enhanced Game Mod which fixes up issues in Mega Man Star Force: Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon, adds in new quality of life features, restores cut content, and adds new post-game content. It has its own thread at the Rockman EXE Zone Forum.

If anything, it could be considered the "Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix of Mega Man Star Force" due to all of its improvements and additions, and stands among other Mega Man-themed mods such as Rockman 4 Minus ∞, Rockman No Constancy, Rockman 7 EP and Rockman CX.

Spoilers related to the original game will not be marked, though ones exclusive to this mod will be.

Tropes exclusive to Mega Man Star Force DX:

  • And Your Reward Is Clothes: Mega Man can obtain 2 alternate costumes, one of which has his take Geo's colors and another which turns him gold like the DX Bosses.
  • Anti-Frustration Features:
    • Annoyed with the touch screen controls or just can't use them? This mod now gives Mega Man a new aiming system that makes it easier to warp into EM portals.
    • All mini-games can now be controlled with the D-pad and buttons, a joy for those who hated the touch screen controls.
    • Unable to form Brotherbands with real people? Or you feel they're not up to your levels of power? Well after you obtain the Lonely Heart, you can go back to the Time Square mirror's Wave Road and use the Brother Mirror to create a copy of your own data.
    • Cloaker's function is changed so it functions similar to MegaMan Star Force 3, filtering out low level encounters instead of merely lowering encounter rate.
    • Much like MegaMan Star Force 3, you can get a boss's Mega Card by getting a high rank on their boss fight, saving you from having to claw it out from each fight with their EX or even SP forms.
    • The Fake Longevity of having to find each SP boss for a rematch has been greatly reduced. If you equip a Cloaker in tandem with a Search item (of any element), you can easily find your opponent without spending hours going through fights in hopes of finding them.
    • The sidequest system was reworked so it'd be easier to keep track of which sidequests were available and which ones are active. If an NPC has a new quest to give you, a red ! icon will be overlayed on their Transer icon in the real world and if the sidequest is in progress, it'll change to a blue ... icon. Once done, the icon disappears to indicate that the NPC has no quest to give you. Additionally, if you check the email section, all sidequest email now possess a blue label which upon completing a sidequest gains a green tick to indicate completion of that sidequest.
    • The Folder Editing system has been reworked to be closer to the sequels to make it easier to sort out your cards with Favouriting cards working like in the second game. In addition, the game's text limit for important and items and weapons has been raised to 12 characters much like the third game.
    • The EM Database makes it far easier to keep track of which viruses you deleted. It also tells you what each virus will drop depending on your busting rank, their location and their stats. It also applies to bosses as well, which greatly reduces the guesswork on where their EX and SP versions are located.
    • If you find the Lunar Knight Brotherbands tedious to level up, you're allowed to use any of the Passwords from beating Lunar Knights to quickly level them up.
    • Hollow is the only boss (aside from Andromeda) that doesn't have any battle cards of his own, meaning that you won't have to worry about having find any battle cards by defeating stronger versions of him due to him being quite tough in both his normal and DX forms. He'll also hand out a Gemini Thunder Giga card when you defeat him for the first time, regardless of your rank.
    • Losing to either the refights with the 10 Virus Waves in the piano, the Hollow refight or the Final Boss Rush simply boots you back to the otherworld similar to losing to the optional FM-ian bosses.
  • Boss Rush: The original endgame boss rush still applies here though after beating Andromeda ∞, you can return to Deepspace 3 and find a large golden Hertz. They will challenge you to complete the Final Boss Rush, a challenge where you fight all SP versions of each boss, Hollow and Andromeda ∞. You can even challenge each boss in their DX form as well.
  • Call-Back:
    • The Time Trials in Deepspace are based off a similar concept from Battle Network 3, though unlike that game, all the Time Trials are consigned to a single area instead of each part of the Bonus Dungeon.
    • The 1000 Note challenge is inspired by the 100 Man Challenge from Battle Network 5.
    • Star Frags are a call back to the Bug Frags.
  • Call-Forward: The DX bosses and Hollow show up in this mod as post-game content originating from it's sequel Star Force 2''.
  • Camera Lock-On: The player can lock onto enemies during battle. The Ice Pegasus form allows you to lock onto enemy when using Mega Cards, making it into a Speed based form.
  • Charged Attack: The player can charge their Mega Buster normally to deal more damage. The Version 1.2.0 update allows the Fire Leo form to have a Lv.2 charge (Blaze Charge) that uses up your next card in order to deal more damage than normal, making it more offense based.
  • Charge-Input Special: The Version 1.2.0 update allows the player to rotate the control pad when they activate Wolf Woods' Mega card. Doing it correctly activates his berserk form instead and blinds the enemy briefly.
  • Crossover:
    • Much like the original Star Force, you can do a sidequest where you meet MegaMan.EXE and obtain his weapon.
    • Following the Battle Network tradition of crossovers with Konami's Boktai franchise, the first Shooting Star Rockman game exchanged some crossover content with Boktai DS, including a sidequest for each game, Battle Cards for Rockman, and War-Rock acting as a terrenial for Django and Sabata.
      • Further still, you can form Brotherbands with the characters of Lunar Knights and obtain their Mega Cards.
  • Cheat Code: Cipher Codes serve as this, allowing you to obtain certain battle cards or items far earlier and easier than if you obtained them normally. This mod adds 6 new ones, one of which unlocks an alternate costume.
  • Contractual Boss Immunity: The Green Dragon form inverts this by making the player immune to status effects, making it a more defensive form. Andromeda in all its forms plays this straight and can only be stunned by countering them.
  • Cutscene Boss: Margrave Rymer is still a cutscene boss, though at least you no longer need to cheat to play the Lunar Knights sidequest.
  • Divergent Character Evolution: One of the biggest changes in this mod compared to the original game is how it diversifies each Star Force form, so they play differently.
    • Pegasus Form focuses on speed. It allows you move around much faster and automatically locks onto nearby targets, with its charged shots being able to freeze enemies despite its high charge time.
    • Dragon Form focuses on defence. It is immune to status effects while also making the shield more useful by healing you by 25% of the damage you would've taken, and if cancelled allows a brief moment of invincibility.
    • Leo Form focuses on raw firepower. Its abilities double the player's attack, allows you to break through objects and shields, its buster charges quickly and deals even more damage if you're willing to sacrifice battle cards.
  • Disc-One Nuke: Much like the original game, the BN Blaster can obtained from a sidequest after beating Taurus Fire's scenario and is very useful for whittling down enemy HP despite its low power and high charge time.
  • Final Boss: Andromeda is the final boss as usual, and its Infinity form is unlockable by getting every star on the title screen.
  • Game Mod: It's a game mod created by Prof9 designed to improve the overall experience of the original Mega Man Star Force.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: The DX bosses will demolish you if you're not on your A game due to each fight being a do or die affair. You can play this trope straight yourself once you unlock the DX costume and combine it with Power Up Data for each of your forms.
  • Harder Than Hard: Legend Mode is a new difficulty mode added to the game which is completely optional. If enabled, the following applies: Enemies have 1.5x HP (except Grabity family viruses), become faster, and more aggressive. Mega Man takes 2x damage and can now be Counter Hit by enemies in single player in addition to taking 2x damage from super-effective attacks. Your own super-effective attacks will deal 1.5x damage against enemies, instead of 2x damage. Bosses now have partial immunity to same status effect chaining. If you try to paralyze a boss which is already paralyzed, the paralysis timer won't restart. To keep a boss immobilized, you'll have to mix up your status effects instead. Cipher Mail cannot be used until after the credits, and lastly, you will not get HP recovery rewards from battles when you're at low HP.
  • Humongous Mecha: Andromeda and its Infinity form can transform into one once you get them down to half HP. Andromeda DX starts the fight in it's mecha form and stays that way for the entire fight.
  • Merging the Branches: Rather than force you stay with one Admin for the entire game, the player can obtain all 3 Star Forces throughout the story. After completing the Star Trials, you have to fight Pegasus Magic and get the Pegasus form before the JammerGfight. After that, you fight Dragon Sky with Leo Kingdom being the last admin you fight. During the scene where Geo returns to Time Square, you get a Giga Card from each Admin and in the post-game, you can change your Transer and by extension which of the three Admins you can fight. As a result of getting all 3 Giga cards earlier, defeating each admin in the Bonus Dungeon for the first time earns you a customized folder themed after them.
  • My Name Is ???: After beating the game and returning to Echo Ridge, you fight Hollow, who is named this way because MegaMan hasn't canonically met them yet.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Mr. Famous appears in the game in a robotic form, which is actually a reference to concept art that didn't appear in the original game.
    • One of the alternate costumes you can unlock is a reference to the Subaru Style Shooting Star Rockman figurine, which gives Mega Man Geo Stelar's colour scheme.
    • Much like Mega Man Battle Network 3: White and Blue, you can take on Time Trials after beating the game's Superboss. Much like that game, you have to fight the second tier version of each boss with only the Extra Folders you've accumulated.
  • No Fair Cheating: Using the Brother mirror to create fake brothers means that their face pics will be grayscale, the mark of a cheater. Averted once you hit Lv.100, then your fake brothers regain their colours. Beating the game also unlocks some more face pics to use which yes, which is the closest players will get if they wanted a Brotherband with Pat.
  • One Game for the Price of Two: Averted. The player can now obtain all the content from all 3 versions of the game. However, they'll start with Pegasus first and get Dragon and Leo later. You'll also start with the Pegasus transer and can change it in the postgame for a small price.
  • One-Hit Kill: The Satellite Admins can use Giga Cards just like you, and will only use them once they hit low HP. If you don't counter their cards with your own, use an Invisible or somehow tank it with full HP, you're good as dead. In the case of their DX forms, if the same thing happens, you are going to be absolutely dead if their attacks hit you.
  • Piñata Enemy: If you defeat Crown Thunder or Hollow, while equipped with the Zenny Finder, they'll drop 6000z or 7500z per battle, easily allowing you to accumulate money for buying any remaining cards that you need.
  • Palette Swap: Much like the original game, late game enemies are faster and stronger variants of earlier ones and the DX bosses are golden versions of each boss, who are even stronger than their SP forms.
  • Rhythm Game: An unlockable mini-game allows you to replay the Harp Note minigame, this time much harder. You keep playing until you get hit by a musical note or hit the maximum score of 1000.
  • Sinister Silhouettes: All 3 Satellite Admins have this during their Shadow fights and Hollow is portrayed this way, even in his DX form.
  • Superboss: As in the original game, you can fight all 3 Satellite Admins in Deepspace. Hollow makes his appearance as a postgame boss, originating from Star Force 2. Furthermore, all of the bosses get DX forms including the post-game bosses and the final boss getting DX forms as well.
  • Time Trial: After beating all 3 Satellite Admins, you can return to Deepspace 3 and talk to several golden Mr. Hertz who challenge you to beat each boss (except the final boss, the Admins and Hollow) within a few seconds with only the Extra Folders.
  • True Final Boss: Andromeda DX is the strongest version of the final boss, surpassing even Andromeda Infinity. Unlike the other version, Andromeda DX will start the fight already in its humanoid form and stay that way for the entire battle.
