^ An annoyance that many other developers gladly deal with.

The game is roughly 15-20 hours long.
... What? Red Dead Redemption was that long and it was only one disk. Mass Effect 2 is twice that long and it's only two.

Are there lots of alternate paths, or something?

It has lots of dialogue, and advanced face mapping. That's probably what takes up a lot of the space.

Oh, right. The face-mapping. Forgot about that. Yeah, that would take up quite a bit, wouldn't it?

Well, there's some good news for those who are PC-only players. Word is Rockstar is making a PC version, and it's due out in the beginning of fall. Dunno if it's going to include the DLC released so far though.

I got up to just before the last disk and enjoyed what I played. Sometimes it suffered from adventure game logic but never to such a degree as to be unbeatable.

Why L.A. Noire took seven years to make

Summary: Brendon Mc Namara is a horrible manager. You will read this and suddenly imagine Activision as a glorious paradise in comparison.

After reading this article, I'm actually upset that I bought the game and rewarded this behavior. I'm even thinking of selling it just to ensure that there's another used game sale instead of them making money off of new copies.

Report: Rockstar Will Not Work With Team Bondi Again

Yowch. Definitely lends more veracity to the last article showing the terrible management. It's also my understanding from looking at the last set of financial reports that this game also undersold expectations, so Team Bondi probably doesn't have nearly enough clout to keep pulling that.

I don't get it, wasn't this game a critical and financial success?...despite my only feelings towards it.

Probably relative to what they invested in it. Just being another good title isn't much when it took 7 years to make.

Edit: From Rockstar's perspective, Red Dead Redemption only took 2 years to make and sold 40% better.

Depends on what kind of gamer you are...what did you think of Heavy Rain?

You'll probably like this...........this game feels less like a game and more like a movie you have to progress through....a movie I didn't really enjoy...

I'd wait for a price drop or grab it used. I've been reasonably happy with it, but the plot stagnates pretty quick. Haven't finished though.

Driving controls are HORRIBLE though and the side missions are completely pointless. The shooting segments of the game even moreso - the game clearly wants to be a giant adventure game, but there's shooting and action segments tacked in because apparently you can't be a "real game" if you don't shoot something. So you get to suffer through some badly implemented action sequences.

I never drive anywhere, I just have my partner do it. Except for car chases, which I've managed to get through reasonably well so far (I just started the Homicide desk).

Although the game lets you skip action sequences, sometimes it'll actually skip an important story bit as well (that's what you get when you want to have your story without cutscenes), so it's hard to know when to just give up and skip it.

More weird to me were the fighting controls - I kept getting killed until I realized that I had to hold down L2 (or something) before any of the other controls would work. O_o

So far I don't actually find it having any kind of coherent story at all; it's just a set of cases (episodes, if you will), each with their own separate story. It works fine for me.

How far have you gotten?

Oh, regarding the sales, Take-Two released financial reports and apparently LA Noire's actually doing better than expected. I based my last statement on reactions to the first month.

I'm on the third case (I think) on the Homicide desk.

Did I get the Five Bad Band right for this game?

Three things wrong. First, you REALLY need to put spoiler tags on that post, it's a massive spoiler. Second, there really wasn't a true head to that group, but Leland Monroe seems to be the most responsible. And three, there were absolutely no women in the group, so why is dark chick even mentioned?

Not that I'm defending Death Note Fan, but men can be The Dark Chick. It refers to their being emotional, or significantly different to the rest of the gang.

I wonder what does Adam John Harrington feel playing Roy Earle especially he is a Karma Houdini.

It's for the Mean Character, Nice Actor trope.

Does anyone get the feeling that Cole and Roy are like Jimmy and Gary from Bully? If so, what are the similarities?
