I thought it was funny.
The best line was definitely the whole "I will hide in this barrel! Like the wily fish" thing, but overall it was very enjoyable. Glad to see it back.
That "Comedy Central channel" joke was forced to hell and back though.

WHO IS THIS LOSERWell so was the Box Network joke in the first movie. I think.
I'll be in the chamber of understanding. It'll take time to fully come to grips with how awesome it is to have Futurama back.
^^^^ Well, it was probably a joke made for the commercials, where it worked better.
I have a message from another time...Leela seems a little out of character in "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela". She is usually quite averse to let Zapp to be near her, so why would she allow him to tag along with her in a one-person craft, basically spooning her?
Also, she doesn't actually seem to be in a relationship with Fry, as the first new episode suggests. She agrees to get with Zapp a little too easily, even if she's loopy from dehydration.
O'Reilly is not amused.I think it was a mix of dehydration and belief that all thats left is Zapp.
I actually had forgotten that she believed that Earth was destroyed. The least she could do was not be so coy about it, though.
O'Reilly is not amused.Does anyone else getting the feeling the first episode was originally supposed to be 2? It went through everything so fast that it's sort of screwing up the timing with the jokes.
I really liked the new episodes (I'm new around here by the way, hello everyone). I specially loved the shout out to Invader Zim, with the cloaking ship that doesn't hides the pilot. That just left me transfixed, but maybe because I loved Zim so much. It really seems, in the second episode, they kinda forget about the new Fry-Leela relationship, but I'm thinking that's probably because they didn't wanted to do a second episode that was ALL about that new relationship, like some shows do in the episode next to the one when "they finally hooked up", so they went the other way. They also seemed to do this with Amy and Kif, felt like a "let's just put all that aside for an episode and have fun", and I think it was the right thing to do. The show is just back, they're hoping to catch some new viewers, so they stay away from arc heavy plots. There was one joke that was very good, and then ruined, at least for me. The one when they can't show a better resolution of the Death-Sphere, that was a very clever one, I think, but then Zap's line about how they can do it in CSI Miami ruined it for me, I felt like it wasn't necessary and felt just a little too Family Guyish, enough to give me the heebie jeebies. Leela's long scream joke also felt... I don't know, weird, not really Futurama-like. Now, Zoidberg cutting Hermes' "umbilical cord" that was pure gold. And "I'm prodding as hard as I can!", instant classic. I hope some arc seeds where being planted with T-Leela and T-Fry.
I liked the first one, but the second felt really stupid at the end. That one joke about Zap making the stupid noise was just bad.
Still, I feel good about the revival based on the first one.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I liked them both.
DumboI liked both episodes, though I'll admit the ending of the second one seemed kinda forced.
And of course, I laughed at "V-GINY" because I am 12.
Heapers’ HangoutOh, I'm not saying I didn't laugh.
WHO IS THIS LOSERI thought they were both pretty solid, and I watched some of the best ones beforehand to get pumped. They weren't Parasites Lost or Roswell That Ends Well, but I'm optimistic the show'll be good going forward.
Some of the Leela coma stuff was pretty amazing.
"She's mostly just a mass of dead flesh and scar tissue now." "Aw, I didn't need to hear that." "Then you're not going to need to see this!" [Horrible, horrible attempt to wake Leela up] "Well, conventional medicine has failed."
Coma coma coma coma coma CHAMELEON!
What a bunch of crap. If the freedom they have on Comedy Central is going to mean round-the-clock sex gags, I won't be watching.
Oh, get off your pedestal. Sex gags are funny and you know it. Otherwise, how do you explain this?
Anyway, both of them were fairly good. I expect more betterness to come.

"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextThey are when used sparingly and are more clever than V-GINY. AHAHAHAHAHA! Did you notice that it sounds like "vagina!" Vagina! The female sex organ! LOLOLLOLLOL!111 Family Guy can be a guilty pleasure but I'd really come to expect slightly more from this show.

So you're saying Futurama is above puerile jokes?
Where the hell have you been?
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. It usually had *something else* besides puerile jokes.

And it still does. What's your point?
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextYou're complaining about the name of a space probe? In what was obviously a Moral Guardians and Star Trek 1 refrence. And sort of looked like an ass. But that last one can be ignored.
Edit: Forgot how to spell that link's name.

I was more amused by "This ship isn't in the Janeway's Guide!" thing.

We're back baby!
General Futurama discussion goes here.
I thought the new episodes were pretty good, I'm not sure how I feel about the ending of the second one though.

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.
