The Tower seems to be one of the more notable Tarot cards; at least I've noticed it more since the Harry Potter chapter "The Lightning-Struck Tower". That Oh, Crap! face was right, given it can represent a very sudden turnabout. If you're winning and all of a sudden see The Tower...

The sad, REAL American dichotomyProps to Kid... he may be seen as a loser within the fandom but he has one hell of a partner in Killer
she/her@wanderlust: IIRC the Tower's significance is that it's the only Tarot card that's 100% bad, with even Death and Devil having some positive aspects.
The Tower is basically the worst card you can get. It is the "fall" part of "the rise before the fall" phrase.
'd. Btw, Death isn't really a bad card, it means something like finishing one phase and starting the other (aka death and rebirth).

Death is all about transformation and The Devil is all about violence and sin. The Tower, meanwhile, is all about disaster - there is no reading of it that doesn't involve some matter of destruction.
I would say that the bit at the end actually recognizes the "good" within the Tower card - that it encourages if not necessitates reconstruction from the ashes of before.
I dabble in tarot reading in my spare time (before the pandemic I used to do tarot readings in bars for a few bucks). There's three cards that invariably go the darker way (and Death isn't one of them), in my interpretation. the Tower is the grim one about collapse and destruction, tarot's portent of doom. The Devil about temptation, inner demons and vices and The Hanged Man is about sacrifice and loss.
Death just looks scary but it's about change, can be both good and bad.
Hawkins should just load his deck with Chariots (which represents victory, triumph, perseverance) in the scenario he's in.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Rachel-Desu's chapter 1029 inversion thread.
- Sanji running away from Queen to think about what's going on with his body parallels Usopp as Sniper King running away from Perona to think about what's going on with her body.
- Hawkins headbutting the pillar is a visual parallel to Mr 1 slicing up Zoro against a pillar.
- Killer chopping off Hawkin's arm is a parallel to Zoro's Flying Dragon Blaze on Ryuma. Zoro frees Brook's shadow from Ryuma's body, Killer frees Kid from Hawkin's damage transferral.
- Killer's finisher is the same as one of the first moves he used in the series, both done to protect Kid.
- Killer offering himself in Kid's place is a parallel to Zoro offering himself to Kuma on Thriller Bark.
- Both Luffy and Kid feel lighter after Zoro and Killer's respective moments.
I wonder if there's any specific reason that Apoo and Earlobe Ninja have stayed up for so long or if it's just the order that Oda decided on.
Some great animation for Yamato vs Ulti in the latest episode.
While I get that Sanji's afraid of becoming like his brothers, I hope he eventually realizes that this is his power. He can't escape that he's a Vinsmoke by birth, but he can still use those abilities to protect his crew.
Damn Killerβs a great guy and clever solution to work around Hawkinβs power.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's less fear of the power itself and more fear that the developing of that power will cause him to become like his brothers.
Someone get Shoto Todoroki to tell Sanji that.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm guessing next chapter will cover Apoo vs Drake, since that's the other pair of Supernovas fighting.
Another notable Card falling with Hawkins is Reverse Death. Which symbolizes resistance to change. This is actually correct looking at it again. And Reverse Seven of Wands is the card of giving up.

It's not, actually. It's the Seven of Wands.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses..." - Flower Knight DakiniI don't know if they will, but the ending of this chapter made me feel like Kid and Law just might defeat Big Mom.
More Sanji development... Him accepting his power as his own regardless of his family? All here for that
Can see a Drake chapter coming up next. Do wish Oda would focus on solely one fight beginning to end sometimes but welcome seeing more of the Supernovas
she/herHuh, I just realized that Jewelry Bonney was on the cover page of this, a chapter focusing heavily on the fight between Killer and Hawkins. I wonder if Urouge will be on the cover page for the chapter covering the Drake vs Apoo battle.
I continue my epic fence-sitting on the Big Mom situation. I can tl;dr by saying I think Big Mom winning makes more sense but Kid and Law winning would matter more thematically.
Working off the assumption that Big Mom will have a significant role in whatever happens when the Straw Hats reach Elbaf, my money's on Kid and Law not winning, but instead either forcing Big Mom to retreat or lasting long enough for Luffy to beat Kaido, and that will prompt Big Mom to cut her losses and nope outta there. By that point she'll have (so far as she knows) dealt with the Zeus situation and with Kaido beaten (a) her alliance with him is null and void and (b) she'll be dealing with a force that's demonstrated it's strong enough to beat Kaido.
Basically my bet is the middle ground of Big Mom being given a reason to leave without it actually being a loss.

I think it will be a big, conclusive loss on Big Mom's part, but she still manages to retreat back to her ship and will be a major player in Elbaf later on.
Actually, I'm hoping that Kaido and Big Mom play roles in the Final War arc in some way. Just because they've been beaten once doesn't mean they can't come back. Even defeated, they should still be some of the biggest players in the world and should have a role in the ultimate war that decides everything.
What exactly their role should be, I dunno, but I want them to be involved. Maybe they join Luffy's side ala Crocodile in Marineford. Maybe they join up with Blackbeard once they hear that he's the heir to their old captain Xebec. Maybe they're just neutral parties adding to the chaos, who knows?
Let's just hope it doesn't involve Blackbeard or his crew showing up at the last minute to steal Kaido's Devil Fruit power or something.
Disgusted, but not surprised
@Envyus There's also the inverted Seven of Wands and inverted Nine of Swords, which if I'm understanding correctly, are also representing his negative mindset.
Meanwhile, the ones visible in Killer's panel are the Ace of Swords, The Sun, the Knight of Wands, and Strength.
