Commas can save lives, you know. Take “let’s eat, Grandma” versus “let’s eat Grandma”, for instance.
In what scenario would that save a life? Comma's aren't audible in direct conversation, so the only was to tell the difference between those sentences if they were spoken would be through differences in emphasis and pauses between words. Which is a totally different matter entirely.
