I gotta say, if it weren't for GOG.com faking their demise and somebody on TV Tropes noting people of it, I wouldn't have heard about it. So, mission accomplished, in at least one case.

The only really dickish part of this is GOG not having warned its users about the impending downtime.

My latest liveblog.

Summary of the three "GoG Revival" chapter videos:

"Hey, we're sorry about what we did, sort of. Now take a look at our bitchin' new site."

said bitchin' new site is displayed.

"Now check this shit out, we've got BALDUR'S GATE!"

Anything else you'd like to add?

They're offering free games or some crap like that.

I don't know exactly since THE REGISTRATION WON'T FREAKING FINISH.

EDIT: Never mind, there's only like three free games and none of them look worth it at all.

EDIT 2: Actually, they got Beneath A Steel Sky. That's probably worth a download. Heck, I'll probably end up downloading all 3.

Lure of the Temptress and Teenagent. All 3 are, I believe, point-and-click adventure games. I'm sure they're all right, but Steel Sky looks the best of the 3.

I really need to download Beneath A Steel Sky. Point-and-click adventure game from the early 90s with a dystopian bent, with artwork by the man who co-created Watchmen?

Heck yes.

Can't say I'm impressed by the redesign. Still feels very much like the old GOG and the new functionalities don't look interesting at all to me.
You won't see me nerdraeging but it's certainly a disappointment overall.

say, first Baudler's Gate, the Planescape: Torment...should we be expecting BG 2 and the Icewind Dale series in the near future?

^ Most likely. Planescape Torment is definitely the highlight though, and not just because I'm a superfanboy: all the other games already had plenty of retail releases and were easily trackable, Torment.. well, good luck finding that.
