I'm hoping against all hope that the dub somehow switched production from LA to Canada so it can still retain that 90's feeling somewhat.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterIs End of included in the new dub?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Both of the original films are, the Rebuild films aren’t.
Given how often she records in Los Angeles and Dallas, maybe Brina Palencia will reprise her role as Rei for the new dub.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. Now I'm wondering if this will have any effect on the (theoretical) English dub of the Blu-Ray release.
Maybe Robert Buchholz directed the new dub at Spliced Bread.
And like I said, maybe Johnny Yong Bosch will play Shinji in the new dub.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. So all of Evangelion is coming to Netflix tomorrow (or in less than 10 minutes).
Anyone ready?
Yep, I was born ready.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I never actually got past Asuka's introduction episode. So this will be the first time I'm going to be seeing the whole series.
It's dropping at midnight, Pacific Time.

"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimYeah. The new dub might be interesting.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Question, is it going to be only the series proper or End of Evangelion too?
Both. And I'm thinking Xanthe Huynh or Kayli Mills is going to play Rei.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Oh good, perfect chance to check out End of Evangelion (watched the series proper already). Let's hope it goes to Netflix internationally... (seriously why are streaming services of all things sometimes regionlocked??)
I'm sure it will. They're going to have a new Latin American Spanish dub, if I'm correct.
So, let the new wave begin!
By the way, this is Irish singer/actress Stephanie McKeon's first anime role as Asuka. I think the dub sounds a quite interesting in a good way, that is.
Also, just to play it safe, I would recommend avoiding Reddit and Twitter like the plague; to say the least, there has been some mixed reactions to the dub. And, as Flint from G.I. Joe would say regarding the reactions, "I have a feeling things are gonna get a lot worse before they get better."

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I for one am LOVING the new dub! LOVING IT!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here."Fly Me to the Moon" is gone. And not just from the credits. The versions used in the Kaji and Misato scenes from Episode 15 and 21 are gone too; there are only silence in those scenes.
I don't have any words. This is terrible.
We're all still aliens.I see. Apparently, there's something screwy going on with the copyrights/royalties to that song...

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Haven't seen anything, but about this no "Fly Me to The Moon" business, maybe music copyrights or whatever got way tighter since Evangelion's first appearance.
Or maybe the Frank Sinatra estate or whoever owns the song doesn't want it to be associated with a show considered super-depressing.
Eh, I wouldn't worry too hard. Keep rioting online and maybe it'll convince Netflix to nab the music rights to that one song.
Everyone is furious over some of the line changes as well, Kawrou only saying he likes Shinji vs saying he loves him, etc. Also that the voice list is fairly unimpressive given what a big deal Netflix made of the show. What, you spent $100 million on Friends and couldn’t license one lousy song (which is on the Japanese Netflix!) or get one of the Stranger Things kids in the booth for a few hours to play Shinji?
So yeah, a rather inauspicious start to the affair, and EVA fans are a very unforgiving lot.

So, what's the general opinion of the new dub? Good or bad?
I think it's good from what I've watched so far.
Also for what it's worth (and not to defend acts of blatant erasure) Kawrou's lines there were kind of ambiguous, with both translations being equally correct.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I admit I haven't seen the show at all, in any language, but I am SUPER stoked that they cast Casey Mongillo as Shinji! She's a newcomer, but she's really, REALLY good in the few roles she managed to acquire before this (I know she was Shou Suzuki in Mob Psycho 100). I'm hoping this'll launch her into stardom.

I definitely thought they sounded pretty good, yeah.
"Yup. That tasted purple."In context the line is more playing up that Kawrou is...off by making his feelings a recognition for him of feeling rather than romance.
It’s still a...let’s see here, 23-24 year old series. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t resort to Stunt Casting. Like there was a clause in their renewing ''Friends'' for $100 million that meant they could get David Schwimmer as Gendo.
