x5 It annoys me that it has a release date in English and that date is November. I hate waiting.

I haven't read it myself, but it looks interesting.

I'll definitely give it a shot when the anime comes out, I might even check out the L Ns beforehand.

This one's a visual novel, but I recently finished getting all the endings in Mizuchi. For those who don't know it, it's a visual novel inspired by the legend of the White Snake that was released on PC yesterday, though the developers are still waiting for it to be available on Steam. I backed it on Kickstarter some while back and was very happy to finally get a chance to play the full version.

It tells the story of a girl named Linh who was supposed to be betrothed to a childhood friend but ends up getting accused of a crime she didn't commit and thrown into a snake pit to be judged by her village's snake god. She ends up meeting a shapeshifting snake named Ai who says she'll rescue Linh, but Linh has to serve as her companion in return.

Overall, I really liked the game. I'm a sucker for stories involving the supernatural, especially youkai, and I really like the art in this game. Though I made the mistake of playing it before eating, and now I find myself craving some of the egg dishes mentioned in the game. I'm particularly curious about trying tamago kake gohan.

I'm planning to download Mizuchi next week.

I did some text skipping for already-seen dialogue on my subsequent playthroughs.

Alright, began Mizuchi. I see that the representation has slightly improved over the demo.

I have barely played past the demo point. The "rice with egg" situation resolved much more peacefully than I expected.

I wonder if medieval Vietnamese were aware of what soy sauce is. Maybe it was a luxury that a poor village could not afford.

Out of curiosity, did you already finish Nurse Love Addiction or are you taking a break from it?

I'm still playing it bit by bit.

Continuing Mizuchi, currently in Chapter 5.

So Jinhai's country is supposed to be Chinese. She mentioned that her country assimilated not-Vietnam into their culture and language. Vietnam (at least, the non-Champa parts) was the South East Asian country most influenced by Chinese culture.

Did you get any of the endings of Nurse Love Addiction yet?

Design notes also mention that Shaolin monks were a major influence on Jinhai's design.

Speaking of Nurse Love Addiction, Yumeutsutsu Re:Master and Yumeutsutsu Re:After (also by Kogado Studios) are getting localized on April 23. After playing through the Nurse Love games, I'm very curious on what the endings of those games are like.

You know, given the cast of Honkai Impact 3rd that I've been playing in the past couple of months, I'm almost shocked that I couldn't find any yuri doujins on Dynasty… there has to be fan artists who've tackled Sakura×Kallen, Kiana×Mei or Bronya×Seele at least. =[

I'm kinda fascinated by the latest chapter of Kaijuu Iro no Shima… it's easy to make "that escalated quickly" jokes, and it surely did, but seeing Kon and Furuka deciding to have sex so spontaneously is almost heartwarming. They're both teenagers who grew up lonely and insecure about their sexuality, and they suddenly find someone who's like them in a weird and stressful situation. It just makes sense that they would give in so impulsively. And it's all depicted so beautifully.

Meanwhile, by the magic of quarterly releases, that bully girl that was sent flying has apparently still not hit the ground since last year.

The English versions of Yumeutsutsu Re:Master and Yumeutsutsu Re:After are out on Steam. I'm probably going to wait a while before buying them since they're pretty pricey, but I hope to play them soon; I really liked the Nurse Love games by the same studio, so I'm looking forward to what these two games have to offer.

If anyone else is reading the digital version of the second volume of the Bloom Into You light novel is available. The one one focusing on Sayaka (English release that is, third volume was released in Japan a few weeks ago).

The anime of Maria Watches Over Us never finished the light novels... I'm not even sure if the novels were ever finished.

Finally got around to playing Heart of the Woods. Almost finished it in one night, but it was getting too late halfway into chapter 5 and I needed to do the ending the next day.

I really enjoyed it. Loved all four of the main characters. Although it would have been nice to get a little more Tara POV.

I think that compared to Highway Blossoms it has a slightly stronger narrative.

Although comparing the two directly I think it comes down to which tropes and trappings you prefer.

After finishing it I also found out Studio Elan has a couple more V Ns in production. Summer at the Edge of the Universe with a solarpunk setting. And Lock and Key, which interestingly seems to focus on two married former magical girls in their 20s.

Heart of the Woods is getting a patch to add voice acting later this year so I might replay it when that happens.

It was announced a few days ago, but I Favor the Villainess is getting a manga adaptation. The art is being done by the artist of the manga version of Welcome To Japan Ms Elf.

Oh good, I really like that manga (Elf-san, I mean). The art is charming.

The premise kinda reminds me of the webtoon The Vilainess' Pet. I think I'd dig it.

I'm slightly surprised there is no mention here of a show with no less than three canonical lesbian couples. Namely Senki Zesshō Symphogear.

I've watched several seasons of Symphogear and haven't seen a single kiss.

I Favor the Villainess really looks like something I'll enjoy though.
