It seems a bit excessive. And this is coming from someone who hates avatar games.
How about we just get rid of avatar games entirely. They're killing forum games!

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Quit being a smart-aleck, Marioguy.
@Marioguy Because that's a lot of games you're killing. And a lot of people enjoy those.
The idea of a subforum for avatar games is good...course it'd be harder to sift through.
I don't see what's wrong with them. Another forum seems excessive.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI would vote to just get rid of the entire section......
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!You might as well get rid of the whole right hand column (and please don't!). Lots of people enjoy FG.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffTV Tropes the TV Show needs to be removed more than FG does.
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.Heh, IJBM is showing that some people are buggin' about how the avatar games keep getting too popular Bobby.

^^More like a lock. Any additions to the threads are few and slow.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!^^^ & ^ ╥_╥
I just don't see the need to make drama out of this. Don't like the avatar-related games, don't click on them.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffBobby G, as well as seeing them everywhere, which I mentioned in my thread that prompted this.
I saw your IJBM a few minutes ago. I just feel that the complaint is a trivial one. Other people are having fun, so what's the big deal?
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffCouldn't someone make a Greasemonkey script that deletes every sentence with the word "avatar" in it?
And Sand Josieph is "just having fun" through wonderposting, and it still bothers people? One person's fun is another persons bother. And yes, it's trivial, like most of my IJBM's, it's how I roll. Apparently.

Very bad idea.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Just move them to Forum Games. WTF else is it for?

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI think the issue is that there's so many avatar games that they're overwhelming the Games subforum, and the people who are interested in non-avatar games want them somewhere else.
In other words, they want to split the Forum Games subforum.
Oh.
Making Forum Games the "Forum Games, No Really" forum, I guess.
So... what would a person call this? "Last Poster Forum Games"?
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyWe've got Forum Games and Roleplaying Games. The only problems I really see arising from the "X the avatar" games is that there are not only a lot of them, but that all but a few wither and die fairly quickly, probably because people switch avatars so often — a post that made sense this morning doesn't make sense any more because the avatar it was about has changed.
That wouldn't be solved by giving them their own forum.
Edit. And now I'm going to spoil everybody's fun with facts and that logic shit Mr Maddy always accused me of using: There are 100 game threads on the first page of Forum Games. 25 of them are avatar games, including "what's The Mighty Anonym's feline [avatar] looking at?". There are 11 more on the second page — that's 36 out of 200 threads that are avatar games. There are five more on the third page, for a grand total of 41 avatar-based games out of 300 threads. Hardly enough to justify their own subforum. The people who don't like them are just going to have to learn how to not open them.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.If you people think I am going against a Madrugada ruling, you need to put the pipe down.
The pipe. Put it down. You know what I'm saying.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittySo then, is the problem that the non-avatar games not get enough attention?
edited 3rd Oct '10 9:10:29 PM by melloncollie
@mellon:
Possibly. Although I feel the amount of attention "Ask Charlatan A Question" is getting is a perfectly right amount.
I don't want to be the center of attention, I just want an audience.
After seeing some complaints in an IJBM thread, I propose that we create a separate subfora for avatar-based forum games, such as "What Character Alignment Is The Avatar Above You?" and so on.
All other forum games would go in the current subfora, as usual.
