During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

And Scraggle, I will state this. The Blue Legion leader Jake has said in the beginning of the film he doesn't want them to do anything that hurts the Survival Questers. And he's OK with bullying like the one who shot paintballs. They don't cause any real damage and he shot at him from a distance. And some of them made snarky comments about them as they share a plane together. They even cut a bridge so they couldn't get on the original path. Safe to say they're just simple dicks. And they all seem to respect what Jake said when he doesn't want to hurt them.
Raider, however, goes beyond simple dickery. He seems like he's bloodthirsty. About ready to blow out someone's eye with a paintball gun by holding the barrel at his face, which would cause serious damage. I can't see Jake being too happy with that. He is bound to rules like the rest of them, but just ignores them to give in to his psychotic nature. And how he coaxes the others into killing the Survival Questers, just so he can justify killing them. No offense, that goes beyond being a dick.

Yes, I know that goes beyond being a "dick." It's called being a villain. They murder, they scheme, they screw others over. It's literally part and parcel of the general definition. The only reason I'd give him any leniency is it sounds like the relative standard is otherwise non-existent and the low-key nature of the setting, but even then...

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm not sure on the Raider either. I could see him counting just by a mere hair. What he does is certainly above being a standard generic villain though. But only slightly. Whether or not he breeches into CM territory is debatable.
I'm gonna abstain for now, but if he goes up I'm fine with that.

Oldman Drac loves his wife, and is portrayed in a more tragic light. Ironically, that movie’s still the most faithful adaptation of the original book.
You could make a better case for Keanu Reeves' accent in that movie than Oldman's Dracula, TBH.

Yeah, definitely extend the body count. Also, instead of saying "thousands of years", maybe just don't give a timeframe at all. As for "perpetual agony", maybe change it to "indefinite agony". I think those few changes will help to more accurately portray All the Rest's true crimes with minimal edits.
